Location was very convenient, close to airport, close to the beach and close to the Underwater world. Facilities were excellent, staff was extremely courteous and helpful. We liked the furry cats running around the place, our lil one year old liked playing with them. Very homely feel to the room we stayed in. Bathroom was huge and the wooden bath tub was quaint. We loved the fruit and cakes that they stocked daily in our fridge. Little expensive stay, very expensive but delicious food

Beautiful surroundings and very friendly, professional staff (the manager learned my name right away: nice touch). My room was just gorgeous: I didn't want to leave! The pool too. The selection of leaf teas, teapot and proper milk was another of the details that made this my favourite stay during my trip. The Straits Club could do with a bit of work to make it as atmospheric as the rest of the hotel (the proximity to the dusty parking lot doesn't help). Otherwise it was great!

Beautiful rooms. Peaceful environment. Awful resort manager who was interested only in up-selling to us rather than making our stay comfortable.

The resort was excellent. Friendly, helpful staff who really cared that we had a good stay. As cat lovers, it was a real treat to have such beautiful, well behaved cats to fuss. Both restaurants on the resort served excellent food, with Bon Ton having glorious sunsets to watch while enjoying the free cocktails between 19:00 & 20:00. Ummm! That's not so easy to answer. Cenang is a developing tourist area which I hope doesn't fall into the trap of getting over-commercialised. But the Bon Ton & Temple Tree resort is on the outskirts of the town area and not affected by the tourist shops.

Beautifully appointed room, in a very serene setting. The fabulous pool with perfect temperature and gorgeous view is perfect for relaxing in the afternoon. The staff were really helpful, even letting us have use of a room after check out (as we had a late flight) staff. I loved that there were cats everywhere! I also really enjoyed the concept of breakfast being left in the fridge, as we could have it at our leisure and the home made breads with Bonne Maman jams were scrumptious. Walls are a little thin in Estate rooms, but that would not stop me from booking them again.

The historic site was absolutely wonderful, the staff was beyond friendly, the place was very quiet, I had a wonderful time there. Tiny little ants came on any food or drink left out, so one had to be very cautious about it.

We liked the food and restaurant at Bon Ton and the free cocktails w. snack every night! Pool is different and grounds interesting with the old houses, relaxing admosfere. Dvd player in room. Dark rooms, no glass windows just shutters. We had to ask for a lot of things only then it was done. Noise of road, dogs, airport and neighbours. We had a family with very young kids above us. Not much variety in breakfast, heavy cakes and stale bread. To expensive for what they offer. Walk to beach to far along busy road witout transport.

I loved the quirkiness of it. All the rooms & houses were so unique. We stayed in the beautiful Chinese House with an envious view over the Temple Tree pool and the sunset every evening. The resident cats were all very friendly, some wanted to share your sunbed too! The noise from the dog kennels was very loud but I was aware there was an animal shelter on site, hence all the cats!

If you love Heritage Hotels then this is your place! And the restaurants both at Temple Tree and Bon Ton are really good! For the (very basic) comfort and the (out of town and away from the beach) location the price is definitely much too high. If you like the simple life and do not care much about privacy this place is fine, but again you can get this at a much lower price somewhere else.

The staff were excellent and very welcoming on arrival with a drink, and lots of information about Langkawi, the history of the resort, and things to see. They were always smiling, friendly, and on hand to deal with any questions. All of the rooms are interesting and very different. Our room in Plantation was fabulous, airy, clean and huge for two adults and two children. The breakfast was delivered the night before so was readily available whenever we woke up. The staff also came into the rooms early each evening to put out mosquito plugs so that we had no problems with mosquitoes at all during our stay. We couldn't have a chosen a more relaxing, charming, and friendly place to acclimatise and discover Langkawi. Loved it. They also run an animal shelter from here so if you are not keen on cats then it may not be the place for you, though it wasn't a problem for us. They are clean, wormed and well cared for, though we did have to keep our door well closed to stop one that liked to sneak in.

Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The houses and rooms are all decorated differently which makes it very interesting and unique. I ate in the restaurant a couple of times and it was very tasty so can only recommend it. All in all it was more like staying with friends and family and not in a hotel which was great especially when one is travelling solo. Nothing

The staff were brilliant. We were given welcome drinks and information about the location and hostory of the hotel. Breakfast was laft in our room fridge to allow us more flexibility with waking up. Quirky features were also fantastic, There was a lot of attention to detail in all of the different rooms. We had a late flight home and were given a room to use-free of charge until we left. The resort was also linked to the Bon Ton resort. It had the best food I have ever eaten. The whole experience was above and beyong what we expected, mainly stemming from the nature of the staff in the resort. I will definitely be returning. It was like a home from home. A little bit furtur away from the main tourist attractions but this was worth it is you prefer a more tranquil environment. Some of the rooms are not as sound proof as others but there were staff patrolling during the night to keep noise levels down.

Temple Tree has some of the most pleasant employees I've ever encountered in a hotel. Whilst perhaps they are not as polished as those that you might encounter in a five-star, the service and attention that they provided was to that standard. They were more than happy to sit and talk, to give advice and they made sure that I had a beach towel and a bottle of iced water before I went to the beach. The rooms are all very different, as the complex is made up of buildings that were bought off the island, disassembled and then brought to Langkawi and reassembled. Each villa is in a different architectural style, and each has a story, if you care to take the time to hear it. I stayed in one of the "Estate" rooms, which was very pleasant, tastefully decorated and very comfortable. Temple Tree has an abundance of personality and ambience that are often sorely lacking in more expensive hotels. The complex is very small and very quiet, with an abundance of cats which have wandered over from the local animal shelter. One seemed to have a particular attachment to my room - it would sleep outside the room at night and, in the morning, when it could hear me moving inside, it would scratch the door and meow to be let in. The pool is very nice, elegantly simple, and usually very quiet, with only one or two other people there. It's a great place to spend the afternoon, reading on one of the deck chairs whilst a cat purrs at your feet. I felt that the price (around 120 €) was a little steep, frankly, even though I really liked the place. The hotel is pretty far from the beach and if you're going to stay there more than one night, you need to rent a car or a scooter if you want to enjoy yourself. I rented a scooter from a place called "T Shoppe" on the main street in Pantai Cenang for about 3 € per day and it was excellent. I got to see the whole island at my own pace, enjoy the scenery and the beautiful jungle roads, and I could come and go from the hotel as I pleased. The wifi connection is a little spotty and the Temple Tree connection stopped working for a day whilst I was there. However, I was able to connect by using the wifi from the Bon Ton Resort which is right next door, though I had to sit by the window of my room in order to do so. There is no cable TV, but there is a DVD library and a DVD player in each room. The walls are wood and absolutely not soundproof. If you have neighbours, you will hear everything that happens in their room and vice versa.

Temple Tree Resort was without doubt the most amazing place I have ever stayed in. The interior designs of the different colonial houses deserves to be featured in every international design/interior/travel magazine across the globe. Having travelled to most corners of the globe & enjoyed the luxuries of many 5 star resorts, Temple Tree really took things to the next level. It would be rude to complain, the place was just amazing as were the wonderful staff. Constructive suggestions would be to repair an ongoing wi-fi issue with the estate rooms & to put a little more path lighting in for the estate rooms...I had a foot injury, the rain meant no walking on the grass & the path was a little uneven which made it a little dangerous with a bad foot. But this is irrelevant in the scheme of things!!!
