Beautiful reconstruction of houses .. An enchanting site, lovely landscaping, pleasant pool. Almost no access to wi fi makes it easier to switch off work Excellent beach adjacent to property Hard working staff keen to please. Fireflies in the hedges, lovely scenes with cattle being herded, cute cats Regard the high price as a financial contribution to the heritage of the country
The food in the evening ..breakfast was quirky but interesting and unpredictable. The evening meal was less pleasant, dishes arrived at Differing times and were not uniformly good. The cost was high and there is no alternative venue If you go .. Then make sure you either have a car or you have the number of a taxi firm that will come out to you.Transfer costs by hotel bus are necessarily not cheap .. 180 MR to Kuala Besult It is called the wetlands and ... The mosquitoes are powerful and numerous
This is a very beautiful hotel and allows one to sleep in fantastic and natural rooms. It is very nicely arranged around a lovely pool. Rooms very clean and nice bathrooms. Lovely that these old buildings have been preserved.
Aircon not turned on in our room before we arrived so it was very hot in there for several hours. I felt it was poor value for money. We were in Malaysia for a month and stayed in several 5 star hotels all of which were much cheaper than this hotel but their service was far better. The girls looking after us here were all charming but they really only provided the service one would expect in a home stay. Rather haphazard food service and odd selection of food.
Amazing location-china sea one side& mangroves the other Gorgeous accommodation Masses of lovely Malay food Kind&helpful local staff, trying very hard to make your stay lovely (not seemingly trained though so could be a bit hit&miss) Very romantic- no one about
Very isolated (good&bad) Staff were lovely (all local which made it authentic) but not very professional set up- very disorganised/relaxed/clueless- you would get part of your dinner& then no plate or cutlery for 15minutes. No one spoke very much English (again good&bad) definitely bad if something is broken& you can't communicate how it is broken or understand what they are going to do about it.
Wonderful place to hide away and relax entirely, in beautiful peaceful surroundings and with lovely people to welcome and look after you.
Unlucky with the weather for a couple of days. Thought mosquito protection in the cottage could have been better.
This village is a noble undertaking to preserve a vanishing style of architecture and lifestyle. A perfect place to chill out, lay back for a few days among friendly & helpful staff, serene surroundings and unspoiled beach. Highly recommended!
The place was awesome. It is totally separated and far from the main road. It is isolated in the village and the beach was clean. It is an excellent place to rest with minimal disturbance.
Need to provide at least 1 TV with multiple channels at the common area. There is no wifi or internet. The phone line was also very bad.
This hotel (a group of modernised traditional wooden houses to be precise) is located in a remote fishing village and it is very, very *quite*. If you are staying on houses near to the beach, all you hear at night is sound of sea waves. The hotel is located right next to a beach, and accessible only by driving or hired car. The beach is very clean, compare to other beaches in Terengganu. Not much beach activity apart from strolling on the beach or biking around. This is a place for relax. Facilities provided are adequate for a comfortable stay, best part of it is: no TV, nada. There is a common reading room with free WIFI (a separate wooden house actually), as well as a conference room (house), dining room (house) and a swimming pool.
Pricing is on the high side, very high by local standard.
The location is lovely and the building themselves are beautifully crafted,
The food was limited, of poor quality and never arrived at the agreed time. The place suffers from having no on-site management ; from standards of cleanliness, care & maintenance of the facilities and staff management. The only way you could find staff was to hang around at the kitchen door. A particular issue for us was lack of wifi access and not being able to understand when/if the problem was being resolved or not.
It was quite and comfortabel place to stay It is a good place to relax and to collect energy to travelle further.
The food was good but it took a long time until the food was at the table. Therefore the food was cold. That was a pitty. We travelled further with the train and the transfer from the hote3l to the train station was far to early. The information they gave us was not correct and we had to get up in the middel of the night because of the transfer. But than we had to wait for three hours at the train station.
