Traders Hotel, Penang

Very convenient location, friendly /helpful staff, clean comfortable room

Rates a little high.

The staff are friendly and helpful. Excellent facilities and near to the center of business. Due to the limited time of stay I have to forego most the facilities which I could use.

Nothing major and critical.

It is in the center of everything, so you could walk to some of the best food in town. Also, it was a nice respite to return to after a day of walking sweltering heat!

I wish the Web site would have updated the fact that they no longer had a ping pong room - we were looking forward to that!

Request for late check out was only successful (extended by only 1 hour) after a few attempts although we stayed 4 nights (2 rooms) at the hotel.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The bed is comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay in Traders Hotel.

The hotel provided a free shuttle bus service to and from the hotel and it's sister hotels in Batu Ferringhi. This made it possible to explore both Georgetown and the beach-side resorts and not have to worry about paying for transport. Great service!! Furthermore, the hotel is situated right next to the main bus terminal, KOMTAR. So it was very convenient to catch a bus to and from the airport and to the main shopping areas. In addition to this, the KOMTAR building is also a shopping mall and there is another mall, Prangin Mall next door, which made it very easy to get late night snacks and meals during the day.

The only thing I have to complain about is that there was no wi-fi in the rooms. There was free wired internet, but I would have preferred wireless.

Everything was as to be expected. The free bus to the beach and the usage of the facility at the Golden Sands made for a good day trip.

Room was a little on small size but this Traders not a Shangri La so only to be expected.

The hotel itself was beautiful and our room was just as we would want it. I thought the staff were gracious, polite, friendly and helpful which we sometimes don't get in hotels similar to Traders. I would recommend it to friends and would return there again.

The only thing was the television. I was hoping there would at least be BBC World Entertainment and it would be a contemporary flat screen tv.

The staff at the front desk and in the Club on the 16th floor were consistently pleasant and helpful -- even during the earthquake on Wednesday morning.

Not that you can do much about this but the location is not within walking distance of anything especially interesting in Georgetown.

Excellent Club Room. Food is exceptional! High Tea! Everything!

There's nothing I didn't like.

I like the fact that it is situated in the heart of Georgetown, easy to get everywhere. We really like staying on the Traders Club floor, and having access to the benefits of that, like internet. Lovely staff, great pool. A good experience all up.
