Score from 112 reviews Wonderful
friendly staff , the breakfast is awesome.. close to the mall
the fact that there is no fridge or a kettle in the rooms in case u want coffee during the night since they only serve breakfast
Quite good location to the old part of Swakopmund with all the historic buildings.
W-Lan only worked in the lobby-/eating-area, which was closed at 9pm already. Cannot bring own drinks into eating-area but forced to purchase drinks from the Guesthouse instead. Small breakfast.
The breakfast provided was good! The security of our vehicle was well catered for by the parking inside the yard.
We were placed in room 18, which was not ideal: The shower, toilet and washbasin area there is ridiculously small and crammed in. This was not appreciated! The room was extremely hot and unpleasant to be in during day time. An air conditioner, or at least a fan would have helped very much to make it more comfortable! We moved back to Windhoek from Swakopmund and, for the same money, we got a much better and spacious room. It can be done!
Good walking distance to city centre which is around the block (500 m or so), calm neighbourhood, security guards for watching your parked vehicle.
Uninterested/ a bit unfriendly personnel, We could only choose between two kinds of breakfast, Wifi only in the main area around the reception.
The continental breakfast was served in a very small bowl that makes it difficult to eat. I could not mix my muesli with the yogurt.
We were private, guest house is in walking distance of all shops and restaurants. Breakfasts are good.
Room 23 and 24 showers are too short for tall people. Perhaps invest in a few braai areas for guests to make their own meals, invest in small bar fridges in rooms. Parking was a nightmare - rooms 23,24 should park by their rooms etc. showers must be cleaned properly.
It's accessible. There is really nothing much to talk about. Life without Wi - fi these days is a No...No
Limited options for breakfast, not enough parking in the compound. I was not comfortable with my car outside.
Location and clean and comfortable room. Breakfast was good. Value for money.
Space in room limited with only room for two twin beds and nothing else.
Mattrass was poor quality. After a nights' sleep you have backache the next day.
It is for upmarket backpackers
The bedding was clean
I have never wrote a bad review and consider myself as an easy 'guest' but Dunedin have Terrible incompetent staff. Unfriendly and rude. Stayed for two nights, and both days they were the same. Waiting outside the dining area doors for 40minutes (breakfast) and staff standing inside drinking coffee and ignoring us. Only after 40minutes they told us to walk around and use other door. At breakfast asked for coffee and the lady just walked away, came back and banged the coffee pot onto our table. Our room floor was dirty, smelly and sticky. Felt disgusted to walk barefoot. Fan in bathroom not working, mouldy smell. At checkout three ladies were standing with their phones and not paying attention to me and another guest standing at the counter waiting for their service. Trying to hand the key back and the one lady said rudely to take the key with me. Trying to explain we are checking out after 4 times she eventually handed me the key deposit back.
Rooms were clean.
My room was too dark and the main light didn't work.
It's nice quiet place and staffs are very friendly
It's boring at nite because the Internet and television is only available in the reception and dinning room
Comfortable bed. Silence.
Water was not hot, for showering. Not much, space to put clothes and other stuff.
The staff humble and understanding.
There is no chair for working on a laptop. Also no water boiler to make tea when it is cold.
Common parts close at 9pm. Wi-fi is not working in most roooms
The centrality to town (shops etc) is excellent. Safe parking. Very quiet and cosy. Décor of old Steamer's dining area very nice touch. Staff extremely warm and helpful
Lack of tea making facility in room is a 'miss'. Could cope without the TV - but caffeine addicts need their fix.
The staff member who welcome us was polite and friendly. The place is quite nicely and safe. I like the break fast very much because it was very nice .
I only have one issue which is DSTV which is not in the room.
The location is perfect and the service was better than expected.
Parking was not good.
Friendly and cozy.
WiFi access is bit slow.
Helpful staff, DSTV in lounge. Secure parking.
No kettle and tea in room - This is normally expected with B&B. Requires one to go to main building in early morning or at night for tea. Basin plug fitted but no sealant between metal ring and ceramic so basin ran dry all the time.
good location, near business center quiet place staff is OK
wifi is sometimes weak lack of choice in breakfast
very very neat and excellent
maybe a kettle in the rooms?
*Not TV's in the rooms *Booked for a double room and a twin room but was allocated 2 twin rooms
An excellent stop-over within walking distance of all amenities. The staff are great, the breakfast substantial and the wireless deserves special mention.
With a little attention to the showers we would have given Dunedin an extra star.
