The food is good, but over-elaborate and, perhaps a little pretentious -- a bit like the bush trying to be New York, rather than just being the bush !
The main issue with the lodge is the over design of the public facilities and aspects of the accommodation. The main building features water channels which, when lighting is poor, become water hazards ( my wife injured herself on one ). Also design features of ( for example ) the bar, which make it look pleasing, makes it entirely impractical ( the counter is too low for comfort ). Extensive use of unmarked glass, also, creates opportunities for people walking into doors etc. Finally, the use of smooth cement sloping floors in the shower, and absence of handrails, makes it hazardous, when wet and slippery.
I understood from staff that there have been several accidents involving guests, but that nothing has been done to reduce the hazards,
The possiblity of injury and law suits exists, if features not remedied.
Very nice surroundings; very friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable.
