Maison Ambre Guesthouse

We stayed here only one night. The owner is very nice and thoughtfull. The room is very clean and cozy. Very pleasant stay just like home. Will definitely recommend to my friends.

Room was a bit dark.

Hostess was friendly and helpful, as was staff, and breakfast was excellent. Room was quiet, comfortable and secure.

Location was a little difficult to find in the dark for a first time visitor, yet very easy after that. Extra bed was a bit uncomfortable.

Staff was really friendly and accommodating. It is actually really easy to remember where the place is. Rooms are tidy and comfortable although it was not equipped for a business traveller I still had a great stay there.

Beate is fantastic, full of life, friendly, and always eager to make your stay more comfortable. Following a previous visit I placed an unfair negative comment about a "low quality" mattress on this site. When I visited 10 days later on my return trip I used the same room as before (Room 5), and what do you know - there was a brand new super comfortable mattress installed. Wow, now that's 5 Star service for you! Everything is perfect for me, peaceful & quiet, good WiFi, good breakfast, good parking, shops and town are close!

The peacefulness, the quiet, excellent privacy in room 5, service, owner very friendly, accommodating and willing to go the extra mile to please.

Servants could be quieter until at least 7:30AM. Double bed mattress is very low quality, hurts my back, can feel the wooden bed supports underneath.

I cannot emphasise enough How comfortable I felt during my stay at Maison Ambre. Beate, her family and all the Staff were exceptional in ensuring I felt at home. In every way, Beate made me soo Welcome - there was nothing she would not do as the host to make me feel at home. Beate is a Host of exceptional qualities. Set in a quiet neighbourhood, the rooms are clean and well designed one can only relax. The friendliness of the staff and owner will make you feel right at home. I enjoyed my stay and will definitely be back.

Very good value for money. Safe place for you and your car. Just outside city center. Very friendly hosts. Nice room, small garden.

We had a very friendly welcome. The room was on the ground floor and stayed nice and cool even in the heat of the day. (There was an AC unit, but we didn't even need to turn it on. There is pretty landscaping and a nice pool. I asked to borrow an electrical adapter so I could use my laptop with its USA plug and they were very kind to lend it to me.

Not centrally located... There is a mall with a supermarket about a 20 minute walk.

In Klein Winhoek somewhat away from where I had to do business, but that may as well be the shortcomming of my business not :-)

Location of the hotel is ideal for those who want to be close to the airport but also have easy access to the city. The guesthouse is basic but clean.

Spaces inside the rooms are not completely comfortable, especially for the bathroom. The dog often enters into the kitchen during breakfast.

The touch was personal and made to feel home. being in Windhoek for the first time made me feel welcome.

Very clean and comfortable , in quiet area close to town. Only dissapointment was the lack of biscuits etc with tea/coffee making facilities.

Absolutely no fault of the Guesthouse, but all water was cut to premises after a council water pipe burst in the neighbourhood. Water was unavailable from midnight until I departed at 10.30 am.
