Score from 293 reviews Very good
Good location in the city, very neat and friendly staff, a good breakfast.
No free WiFi !!!!!, though this is already a common practice world wide, this makes the hotel not user-friendly for business and keeping in touch with home and friends
Price compared to quality.
Big room, good wi-fi
some noice from the street
Professinalism and access to station
Ridiculous ramp to parking. Damaged bottom of my car.
Clean and good access into the City but some distance away from the good restaurants in Klein Windhoek
The hotel is in need of a makeover. Limited number of TV channels
The desk staff were very friendly and helpful
The waiters were a bit slow and did not seem to understand us clearly
kindness and good atitude. I also liked the breakfast
its an old building
Breakfast was good
The bathroom smelled bad. There was no ventilation inside the bathroom. There was no electric plug for a shaver.
Room had damp smell and the floor in the bathroom was always wet due to leaking taps. Breakfast was never ready on time - we were told that breakfast starts at 06h30am, but every morning by almost 7h00am still not eggs were ready! I received a wi-fi code, which did not work - when I went to reception to ask for a new one, I was told " sorry you cant have another voucher because you only get 1 per day " - surely if the one I was given did not work, then I am owed a working voucher! Normally you associate Protea Hotels with higher quality service and rooms, but clearly not with this hotel - would not recommend it to anyone!
The room was very small with just a shower and no bath Totally over priced This room should not be more than R650/night The food was poor with the steak so tough we had to send it back The dining room is dark and depressing There was loud thudding music and shrieking voices till 4am in the morning from the bar behind the hotel
Advertisement claimed newly renovated. We selected the hotel on the strenght of the advertisement. Lift filthy, carpets dirty, 2nd floor opposite room 206 in passage filth against wall. Room 206 toilet does not flush, bason plug no longer adjusts. Staff could give no info on the city and what to see. Most dissapointing stay of our 2 week long stay in Namibie! Very noisy !
Size of the room
Location , over prized not worth more than R650-00 per night
the prostitutes in the hotel over the night and the criminals in the city at the beginning of the evening
Good people and food
Very bad TV lsitings and entertainment is very poor.
Staff were incredibly helpful. Room was large, bright, quiet, and clean - more like a European hotel. Although they had a limit for internet, they gave me more codes throughout the day. Also made me up a breakfast box as I had an early bus that was HUGE!!
Slightly damp smell in room.
The staff. they are very friendly and very helpful, Martha , Hilena and Sulleta are very friendly and always there to help. The internet 100 MB compared to others hotels in Windhoek is reasonable., the Breakfast is also reasonable and they make a very good omelette.
The room carpet and the smell on the room in the first 3 nights, seems like someone was smoking before I entered that room, the TV channels, they need to have more choices, the Ottis elevator is old need some upgrade, the noise of the ventilator in the toilet is annoyed.
No secure parking
The rooms are very nice and beds comfortable. Bathroom lovely except the shower, people don´t have bath nowadays, shower should be so called hand shower! Big (huge) writing table just for the use of businessman.
The corridors are not in the same level than the rooms. I have been there from the years 1967 and it has improved a lot but. I could hear everything from the next room, which was not nice. Outside in the garden should be some kind of roof in cold season, there was really cold to sit down in the evening. Dining rooms are pail they need some decorations.
Lift tatty Hotel could do with abit of paint and sprucing up
Location of the hotel is very good. The staff is very cooperative. (Ms. Hileni at the reception was very helpful in meeting our requests).
The window of our room was not locking up properly. Even a single bottle of water was not given complimentary, something which all hotels invariably do.
Breakfast very good.
NO SAFE PARKING RATES SAME AS 5 STAR HOTELS BAD AREA
Dirty, old, poor food, disinterested staff, threadbare rooms, dangerous electrical items, bared wires
Breakfast was great. One front office staff named who has a name that goes something like "Hila..." Is excellent. She serves all guests with a passion. The Friday braai is excellent!!!
Some front office staff are cold towards guests. The window in Room 108. Does not close and rain water would splash in during storms. Menu in the restuarants is too limited. The lift is too old and not user friendly.
The breakfast was superb. The rooms were of a good size.
The air-conditioning didn't work, the staff were not that helpful. The breakfast lady told us to wait until she was ready because they were short staffed.
Staff were friendly
The Carpert were smelling. Parking is not accessible. Breakfast is not good
