Friendly staff. Good location and safe parking. Bathroom smelt a bit like dirty drain at times. Tv channels didn't work properly. Internet is advertised but only works in the restaurant/bar & lobby which is annoying.

Definitely not value for money. Accommodation rates compared to those of the coastal Hotels and Roof of Africa was expensive.

We only stayed one night having driven from Sossusvlei with a flight out of Windhoek the next day. However the hotel was well positioned for us to spend an hour or two in the centre of town each day to look at the sights and do some shopping. Hotel staff were very helpful. We were allocated a room which was not ideal as some work was being done outside and the noise was not what we needed after a long drive. However we were given another room without too much of a fuss which was more suitable for our needs.

It was clean and had a nice feel. I was in a room near the kitchen. The staff were very loud late at night (11:30pm and later) while cleaning up. They would talk loudly and yell to each other. I'm glad they were enjoying themselves but it woke me up every night. I did not like the food. They never had my first choice from the menu and the food I did select was so poor that I ended up only eating the sauces/rice or salads. For instance, I ordered lamb curry one night. The lamb was very gristly. I ordered the tuna salad another night and the tuna tasted like it was going bad. I didn't eat it for fear of food poisoning. It was also quite expensive for the quality. I ended up having pizza delivered most nights. That is certainly an area they could improve.

The Reception and cleaning staff were very friendly. The room was always kept clean. The room I had was next to staff quarters and they were very noisy and really had no consideration for guests. They also need to attend to the sewerage and drainage systems as they were very smelly.

The hotel is old but well kept. It is close to the main road to the airport. Rooms are large and clean. We didn't have any meals there as we left for the airport very early in the morning. They were willing to pack us something to eat, but we declined the offer. Very friendly.

Ambiance and location. Nice bar. Friendly and helpful staff. The food which I had was really not up to standard. My room, especially the pillows and linen, smelled of stale cigarette smoke.

Meals were very good. Hotel busy with renovations and building material and rubble all over the premises making it difficult to move around.A Lot of noise during the day. Television was not working and basin and shower drainage was blocked. Towels were not rinsed properly resulting in a sticky feeling on your body once used. The pool was dirty and all above mentioned problems a possible result of the renovations.

Roof of Africa is your normal tourist motel. The staff is very nice and friendly. The location is on the main route to the City Centre and Taxis are aplenty at 9n$ into town but 18n$ when you return, strange charge? We stayed at Roof of Africa for 4 nights and enjoyed our stay to a certain extend. Using Roof of Africa as a getaway for a few days are not a good idea. It is more for tourist moving through the city. We stayed for 4 nights in room 25 opposite the laundry, where staff is busy working thru the night, which is a disturbance as the water runs right thru the night and doors get slammed at regular intervals. I also discovered that a mens dorm is next to my room 25. I had to phone reception to complain about some very drunk guys shouting at the top of their voices having a conversation where everyone was trying to speak all at the same time, this at 4h00am. I was not very happy with the situation. Should I return one day I would prefer not to book into that specific room 25. We also had to wait until after 14h00 to enter our rooms although we arrived at 9am from Cape Town.
