Casa Del Sole Apartments  

We stayed in the 16th floor in a 2 bedroom apartment which was so spacious and had all the amenities you could need (fridge, washing machine, microwave, kettle, coffee maker, toaster, etc). Our little girl slept beautifully in the supplied portacot in one bedroom. Great locale, right near the restaurants and beach. Coffee shop downstairs very handy (although only open mornings and afternoons for 2 hours each) and reasonably priced. We bought coffee, bread, croissants and milk and received change from $10. Staff friendly and have basic English. I have read reviews about the staff not being friendly but we didn't experience this at all.

The pool is in a strange location with no shaded areas. So too hot to use. Whilst we didn't want to stay in and watch tv, we do like watching the news on cable, however of the 20 odd tv channels, there was no news and everything was on French. No big deal though.

The location was good and it was a good size.

That the apartments were not serviced at all for a whole week. Some appliances did not work when we arrived the jug, the air conditioning control, the lights in second bedroom. They were fixed but only after a second attempt as the first person on the desk said he could not do this. Also had to ask for a hair dryer.

As ever Casa Del Sole was a great place to stay in Noumea. It's staff are relaxed and helpful. And when we were forced to cancel two nights of a three night stay due to cyclone Freda (we were on Isle des Pins), the staff were very understanding and charged no cancellation fee. What more could one ask for.

Spacious apartment, a little bit tired and needs renovation, but in ik condition overall. The location is perfect, good security and friendly staff. Good value for money.

Spacious two-bedroom apartment. In-room wi-fi included in tariff. Convenient to beach and restaurants.

No room service - E.G. had to buy our own toilet paper when it ran out. Noisy bar adjacent to hotel, with very loud music until 3am most nights - would need to get a room on Anse Vata side for some quiet!

Recommended and where we pleased ! Only 3 star however the location you just can not get much better, superb actually !! We were here for 9 nights and booked a superior 1 bedroom apartment #1501. For us this position was excellent with stunning views over Baie Des Citron, watching the cruise ships and sheltered from the wind hence we enjoyed and would prefer this side of the building. Opposite side over looks Anse Vata seems the prevailing winds were from that quarter however everyone does the windsurfing there and you may prefer that view. The rooms are spacious, flow from bedroom and lounge to a good sized deck with outdoor setting. Comments are they are sparce, yes they are. Create your own atmosphere put your magazines out, buy some flowers and get fruit in the bowl goes a long way to make it feel homely. Beds are firm however comfortable, with aircon in the bedroom. Bathroom ,shower was good ,Linen ( all white ) basic towels and bathmats are provided. If you want face cloth, handtowel, tea towel take them with you remember it is 3 star. There is a separate laundry . Washing machine was easy to use even though we dont read french. Had no hairdryer and Casa Del Sole provided one and a spare conversion plug. Found the reception staff extremely obliging in this respect given we don't speak French. There is an 240 volt plug in the bathroom if you wish to take your own dryer. Wirelss internet was included. For us this is invaluable as we still need to continue running our business whilst travelling. We ran one computer plus the I Pad . Could even skype. Basic kitchen with oven microwave and good sized fridge all you need. Bus to here took ages ( last drop off ?? ) 3,000XPF each or if you take a taxi 10,000XPF. We would take taxi next time. The supermarket is a 15 minute walk ........look for the sign just past the marina on your left for the Casino Supermarket , a small mall/complex so can easily miss it.

Very slow at check in. Check in times later than advertised. Rooms lacked certain essentials for a serviced apartment, like tea towels, dishwashing, in fact they were pretty bare! Somewhat noisy overnight.

The room was spacious and with a lovely view.

Certain staff members were very helpful, others not at all. Kitchen was poorly equipped : dishwashing liquid nor sponge were provided !

I was disappointed that in a 7 day stay our hotel room was not serviced at all. We had to pay for a service. Also we needed some toilet roll and told we had to pay for some ourselves from the store next to the hotel.

Large, spacious,bright apartment and big balcony.

The only problem was that in 10 days we did not have even full service.

The reception staff, with one exception, were uninterested in the guests almost to the point of rudeness. The cleaning and general staff were much more friendly and helpful. A list of kitchen utensils and fitting would be usefull to check against as many of the more common kitchen items were missing when we arrived Please note that we do speak French and used that language as much as possible when making requests or asking questions

We choose self-catering in our travels around the world. This has to be amongst the top units we've stayed in. The units are spacious and the wrap-around balcony is a great delight. The staff were really helpful to us with our limited French language.

1. Management need to do something about the smell of drains in the laundry rooms - we stayed in two units, exactly the same smell - indicating a need for them to reamed and sanitized. 2. Prospective guests need to know that there are noisy nightclubs right below, but the sound-proofing in the balcony doors is efficient. 3. We realise that hotel convenience stores need to weight their prices for the long hours and overheads involved. However, some prices do hurt. For example, we bought six tablets of dishwasher detergent, later to find that we could have bought at Port Plaisance supermarket a box of 30 tabs for half what we paid for those six. It's convenient!

Everything met our expectations. The staff were friendly and helpful to us as Anglophones. We have another, fuller review to make about the hotel, as this period was just one night in transit to the Isle of Pines, leaving early on the next day of an overnight stay.

The laundry rooms need attention for the very common problem of drains smell.

The apartment was massive. Very roomy. The views are amazing.

I think you can best sum up Casa Del Sole as "a no fills" apartment. It is pretty basic furnishings and decor but the view makes up for it. Don't expect too much from the front desk, they are pretty useless although they are friendly enough. If you don't speak some french you could be in trouble. Our baggage went missing. Two days later they arrived and were at the front desk. The staff knew we were looking for them but didn't send them to our room. If my husband hadn't ran the airport, we wouldn't have known the bags had arrived at reception!

Apartment was airy, big, comfortable, fairly quiet with great view of coast good shower and bed.

The staff were slow to respond to requests, no Internet in room despite change of modem/password. It would have been nice to have a welcome pack and some tourist information as there was nothing. My apartment had a very noisy fridge that I ended up turning off so I could sleep. The cafe to have breakfast was next door with only limited choice.

Poorly appointed kitchen. Cheap & sparse furnishings. Difficult to communicate with staff in English. Staff attitude was generally distinterested & not helpful. Few instructions regarding appliances, consumerables replacement etc.

Very poor service , Staff dont speak English ? Every night we have been disturbed by noise from the street cafes and restorants . For five days we havent room cleaning service at all !!! Very slow internet ! For the price 250 NZ dollars we had to ask about fresh towels and bought dishdrops by ourself !!! Would never stay in Casa Del Sole again !!!

Basic but clean and comfortable apartment living in the best location in Noumea - situated right between the tourist beach of Anse Vate and Baise de Citrons ... minutes from the sand, retaurants and nightlife

Good overall, well appointed and comfortable! Great views, spacious. Great deck with outdoor furniture. Two toilets was a bonus. Excellent kitchen space

Beds were really hard and not very comfortable. A vacuum cleaner would have helped. Limited glasses available for drinking with only wine glasses available.

l'espace, le confort,la propreté, le coin cuisine, sont idéal pour une famille avec trois enfants et les chambres sont grandes, bien aérés surtout en été, les enfants apprécient les chaines tv et le balcon.

le manque de portes serviettes salle de bain, de lessive à vaisselle. Le bruit coté route, des gens qui criaient. En janvier, le bruit de jeunes en mobylette qui s'amusaient sur le parking. Parfois le bruit venant des appartements voisin de peut etre genant,mais dans l'ensemble ce n'est pas dramatique c'est la ville.

l'hôtel est bien situé, il y a les bars et restaurants aux alentours et la plage pas très loin à pied.
