The location for my particular, rather unique purpose was excellent otherwise, I don't think the location is very good for the average traveler.
Location is a long way out of the main city area, costing around 1,000f to 1,200f each way to go to the city. The double bed was 2 singles joined and the join was very uncomfortable and the sheets don't fit the bed. The sliding shower head is fixed at the very top with the shower head quite large and heavy with poor to average water pressure. The milk supplied for breakfast is not enough for the cereal, let alone the coffee as well and the hotel does not supply any extra milk - you have to go out and buy your own. A lot of staff are not friendly to English speaking guests. When its windy there is a very loud howling through the balcony which keeps you awake. There is limited TV stations to watch and the early morning wake up call to catch the shuttle to the airport can not be relied on, being nearly 30 mins late which can cause the missing of the shuttle and therefor the plane. There are more issues that a traveler would have problems with but suffice to say I would not stay at Hotel Le Lagon (Noumea) again.
We had 1 br suite, it was absolutely lovely, fantastic bed, lovely breeze through, ocean view, no mosquitos to speak of, kitchen is fine, good bathroom, all very clean, functional and pleasant. House maids very obliging. The boulangerie a few doors up is fantastic, 2 small epiceries very handy and french restaurant Amadeus virtually next door is excellent.
Nothing really except kitchen lacked a bit a chopping board and sharp knife would have been handy. The pool is small and we didnt bother with it when the beach is perfect.
near the beach but no view
the kitchen is not furnished in the suit it is a big noisy near the pool the pool is not so big as showned in the photos
This is a fairly quiet hotel a 5-minute walk from the beach and shopping/restaurant strip. The breakfast is good, the rooms comfortable, and the facilities quite good.
The pool is small.
Location was great; air con worked well and room very comfortable. Free wifi was good too.
Pool area quite small, if you want lots of pool time this isn't the place. Fine for us, we were in Noumea for one night prior to flying to the Loyalty Islands.
Liked the staff and the recommendations for dinner, walking maps, hiking recommendations. Also liked that it included Free activities like Kayaking etc Really good bed and pillows. Very clean. This hotel was walking distance to practically everything. 10 mins to Lemon Bay, 2 mins to Anse Vata Beach and water taxi to duck island.
Nothing I didn't like. Breakfast buffet is expensive, like everything in Noumea. 2 mins walk near the Hilton Hotel is a Bakery which are the cheapest places to eat. Get used to eating a lot of Bread.
We relaxed, enjoyed the spa, sauna, gym, pool, the short walk to the beach, the convenience stores just down the road
The inclusive contential breakfast proved expensive; what was included in or not included in such breakfast was not made clear
Beautiful great size accommodation and lovely staff. Real tropical feel and good location - short walking distance to Anse Vata, and two good restaurants either side of the hotel.
Only thing I wished was there was longer restaurant opening hours. It is only open for breakfast but would have loved to be able to order room service or go to the restaurant at other times, such as for dinner.
very nice spot, with very good staff!!!
almost nothing, maybe the machine downstairs for the drinks was broken!!!
The small kitchennette could be equiped a bit of cutlery.
Friendly staff. Helpful, location
Close to beach, extremely pleasant and helpful staff, Clean and well maintained hotel.
Free activities around Noumea (kayaking, tennis), great facilities, the warmest heated pool we have ever experienced, very prompt room cleaning, fantastic value for money
The only downside is a lack of ocean views compared to other hotels, though you can still have some sea views and city views and if you ask to be put on the top floor they will accommodate you.
Well appointed facilities and excellent location close to beach shops and transport. Staff very helpful and friendly. Sumptuous breakfast.
While there are numerous restaurants nearby it would have been nice if the hotel breakfast facilities opened for an evening meal even if only for 2 or 3 nights per week. My wife is gluten and lactose intolerant and even though we were staying for 10 days and had advised this at the time of booking there were no arrangements made for her. While she could eat some fruit and an egg I felt sorry for her that she had to watch me eat a sumptuous breakfast every morning. She eventually provided her own cereal and bread purchased at a local supermarket.
Relaxing and clean hotel. We are not good English speakers, but staff were so kind ,they made arrangements for reservations of restaurant, transporter. Very close to famous and delicious bakery Atelier Gourmand,Cafe Malongo.
Wi-Fi not so good in the room, but so good corridor . After carrying 2 big towels when we go diving, stuff didn't hold out another towels. Of course we got ones, after explaining.
Location, friendly staff...
Miss-understanding everywhere, luck of English caused a lot of tragicomic situation, undertrained stuff. 3 Stars Hotel, Yes, but very small Stars. Nothing of this facilities is not possible to try: Swimming pool in function, was outside, water was 29C. But we have rain everyday and air temperature was 20-25C , Spa was out of order and Massage/sauna was booked for everyday till 22.10. ( we left Hotel 12.10.) I can't believe they advertise this as main attraction, but as a guest - you can't use it. Wakeup service - fail. Receptionists fail. They promise but not deliver. Very nice, kind, friendly but poor knowledge of English is main problem. New Caledonia is a great country with nice people, but someone try to save money in wrong place. Sorry! BUT If you ask me if I will come again: YES. If I recommend it to my friends: YES
location was great - short walk to Anse Vate and Lemon Bay eateries very friendly and helpful staff room very clean
rooms a bit too small mattress was uncomfortable breakfast was very average spa pool was out of order pool very small
All good no issues
Walking distance to beach and restaurants. Bus stop in front of the hotel. Good and free wifi.
Expensive breakfast in an over crowded restaurant (on Sunday). Although I reported a blocked wardrobe door (preventing me from using the in room safe) on the first morning of my stay, no action had been taken when I left 3 days later.
Staff: reserved but friendly and helpful. Location awesome: quiet, ex. bakery, shops, restaurants, beach and fabulous walks very close. Beds superb. Housekeeping excellent. Continental breakfast fine, (Graziella is a Sweetie). We had a suite which was excellent with a big balcony.
Pool area clean and attractive but small and the pool tiny. A bit disappointed that the hotel doesn't do evening meals but this really not even a criticism but I have to write two hundred characters minimum.
We really enjoyed our week staying with our children (aged 2 and 4) in a one bedroom suite. The room was lovely and large. The kids loved using the heated pools- including a shallow part for kids - and the spa. We found the continental breakfast had lots of options. Staff were friendly and helpful. We didn't have a car and we found it easy to explore from here- easy walking distance from beautiful beaches for little legs, the bus stop right outside, bakery and supermarket not far. It was great, we're coming back on the way back from a tour of the North.
Shops for food supplies nearby along with all types of restaurants. Safe area.
Road noise when balcony door open but fine when closed. Pillows need improving.
Great staff, great location, no restaurant but no problem as there are heaps within 0.5km. Staff went out of their way to look after us when we stuck in the city late at night (be aware that buses stop running rather early, and taxi availability can be a problem)
Friendly, helpful staff
Very nicely presented foyer, rooms and restaurant. Good location for a short cab ride to Port Moselle (~$13AUD).
