So for international travellers, best to go to, Lekki, V.I, Ikoyi, Stay in apartments resorts, or international hotel. i.e Fay Pads. Then look for a guide/driver which the resort can provide for you. Plan all your trips in advance and hold hard cash, not too much, don't rely on POS, due to network shortages. Once you're prepared there is way too much to do and see only in Lagos, wake up early, hit the roads and eat in restaurants, don't be tempted to eat on the roadside or drink pure water, as your stomach might be sensitive to how it's prepared. Don't wonder far away on your own, always let others know where you're going, use fly over bridges when crossing even if there are others not using it. Don't walk or travel at night if at all possible. When going to bed, do a final check of all doors and windows. Lagos is very sweet!

A city bursting at the seams.
A city bursting at the seams. Still struggling from years of neglect and underinvestment. Poor infrastructure, poorly maintained and no evidence that it is equipping itself to deal with the opportunities and challenges of the 21st century. That said, people are really friendly and cope remarkably well with the numerous daily challenges the are forced to contend with.

I did not like that the Immigrations Officers try to cut my holiday short by one day; of my visa allowed and Air Ticket time. Then expect me to pay more to get a Visa extension.
My favorite place was Shasha Lagos State. But Lagos needs great Improvement to be more attractive and safe also for tourists. They need to clean up the streets, paint the buildings and build better roads and guttering. To stop rain floods water and giant puddles settling in the roads.
All this can provide jobs for the locals. And make the roads safer for the Locals; and improve travel access for local businesses, when a major city and town have good roads. Making it much easier to travel around LAGOS. And making the roads free from accidents and also safer for the locals and Tourists visiting in Nigeria Lagos.
I stayed in an apartment and we did our own cooking. My husband sometimes bought cooked foods in the supermarket. We drank bottled or boiled water. Kekes can be fun to travel and nip around Lagos in, the and yellow mini busses. I also use Ubers, but I avoid traveling on motor Bikes.
I did not get to visit any of the national tourist sites mentioned here via point 6 below, on this trip. As it I came to get married and spend more of a quality time with my new husband.

The city of Lagos is located in a beautiful place, but it is very dirty and some areas, especially the old part of the city, are very dangerous for tourists. What shocked me the most was the situation when, during a police check, the policeman demanded money from me and the fact that only travelers were allowed to enter the airport and families were not allowed. Omnipresent controls that have nothing to do with ensuring security but only with difficulties and providing space for possible corruption of officials. Being forced to pay bribes at every step is unacceptable to me as an EU citizen. I liked the attitude of the people. They are smiling and positive despite the poverty that befalls them. They are constantly dancing and singing.

Eating out is relatively expensive, especially around Victoria Island
Should have carried more money to the market, go to the Balogun market as well as Lekki. Balogun is better priced.
It was actually my first day in Lagos, the staffs were to helpful and always willing to assist, my room was clean and comfortable, the bedsheets smile nice, the toilet was neat, I felt home away From home the lady the reception was all smiles, I could approach her for anything, I enjoyed my day at the hotel, my check out time was 12pm but I left around 1pm I wasn't charged extra, instead the manager helped me book my ride and even assisted in carrying my luggages. It was a nice experience at zuite subzero, I will surely visit again.
I NEVER wrote reviews but for this hotel i will. Beautiful, CLEAN! Good size bed. Beautiful calm atmosphere. I couldn’t believe my luck! I’ve tried so many hotels in Lagos, and majority are overpriced and just not up to standard. Personally this hotel is great value for money. This will be my spot in the from now on. I honestly
could not fault this hotel. Decided to stay an extra day.
I throughly enjoyed the Nigerian breakfast the hotel had on offer. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. The room was a good size and very clean. The bathroom had many toiletries provided and slippers alongside a robe which were a lovely surprise. The water flow and temperature control were fantastic.
I loved the location of this hotel, very close to the us Lagos consulate. The only problem I had was that the hotel don't have a kitchen to call for food. I had to get my meal outside from a very nearby restaurant, repeated same for my dinner.. apart from that, I loved everything else.
After staying at some other places in Lagos, this was a relieve. A relative clean place with good facilities. Most of the staff is very friendly. Nice pool and lots of beautifull views over Lagos. Next time we are in Lagos we will skipp the other places and go here directly.
Very tidy and lovely AirBnb apartment equipped with everything you need. A good bed and nice bathroom. Orange island manager is a great host and there when you need him, Very nice and wants to share all he know about the area. We had a great stay!
The location was perfect for me with regards to getting to the airport. The host was respectful and friendly. The young ladies at the reception were good at their job. A nice little gem of a hotel hidden away in Aviation Estate in Lagos.
Everything! Lilygate is the one hotel I stay in Lagos that felt international. Felt like I traveled out of Nigeria.
From the porter, to the reception, my room, dinner, breakfast, it was all very cool. I shall go back again and again
It was my birthday and I was given a small celebration cake and restaurant staff sang for me.
I also got a welcome letter, wine and fruits.
Lots of free snacks and drinks at the reception. That was most generous of the hotel.
Quaint hotel. relatively quiet, very comfortable bed, spacious room with essential facilities like dual type equipment charging points and a tea tray. Good breakfast. Kind staff. A real value-for-money hotel on Victoria Island.
The food was very good, the hotel staff was excellent. The hotel itself was very close to the airport but a bit far from Lagos per say. The outside taxi service though was not expensive so was not that bad.
Booked 2 nights but could only stay a night. Hotel refused to refund. Sent me to Booking.com. Booking.com also sent me back to the hotel. Just a back and forth.
