Hotel El Almendro is just 750 metres from the Metropolitan Cathedral in central Managua. This charming hotel offers a small outdoor pool, an attractive shaded terrace and free private parking.
Score from 40 reviews Very good
5min shuttle to the airport...pool area is nice ish...
no other reason but if you need a stopover night after/before a flight...not a 4 star hotel as they claim
Everything, staff conduct themself always professional, corteous and respectfull.
Not a thing.
Facilities were very comfortable and we were able to drop the car a day early and take the hotel shuttle.
No coffee making facilities in the room
I was very clean and had ever thing to make your stay comfortable
Very convenient to AirPort and excelente rooms
All was above average
This is an excellet hotel with excellent facilities, excellet swimmingpool, very nice tenniscourt and a spa. The staff at the restaurant did a really great job and worked in the customers interest. Food could have been better for the price asked, should have been excellent but was fair. Great location near the airport and free shuttle bus to the airport. I still recommend the hotel it is probably the best option in Managua, if you are on your way home early in the morning or arriving very late at night. There is no good budget options close to the airport. You have to choose between Camino Real or The Best Western hotel. Camino Real is more exspensive but probably still worth the price difference. Advise do not try to safe money with a cheapy in Managua city center can be very dangerous doing so!
Nice hotel but a very exspensive one, no breakast included in the price, no tax included in the price, they charge an extra fee for incidents and we really had some incidernts to sort out at the reception desk, it took 25 minutes to sort out the bill and it become far higher than I exspected. The reception desk is the hotels weakest point, it is awful. I have stayed in five star hotels in Bogota and Pereira in Colombia and received better value for money. I paid 63 US Dollar in San Salvadore breakfast included with more or less the same standard (ok no swimmingpool, no tenniscourt or spa) this stay went up to 157 US Dollar with breafast and dinner! A safe good hotel in Managua is exspensive maybe better to use Panama City or Guatemala City (Antigua) as main hubs flying into or out of Central America.
The staff could have been more helpful, I arrived with a very heavy rucksack and three of the door men watched as I struggled to reach reception, no offer if help! Also the rest of the staff could have been a bit more pleasant!
The facility and grounds are extremely well maintained and beautiful. The staff was courteous and professional.
There was not a thing we did not like.
We stayed at this hotel as it was the closest one to the airport in Managua. It's basically like your standard good quality hotel (e.g. Hyatt, Hilton).
A bit pricey for Nicaragua
Shuttle from airport, many activities on site, large, modern, good beds
It was all good.
Ok Hotel if you are looking for something close to the Airport - I dont think someone would stay there if not in transit.
Rooms could use some refurbishement. Pretty expensive for Nicaragua but you get international standard in exchange.
The kids loved the pools and the kids activities.
4.5 star - prices are high for Nicaragua, but the hotel is above average as well
Food,pool, room service.
Saw a roach in my room.
Good location. Nice room. Enjoyed a massage at the spa.
ordered room service for dinner. It was 15 min later than what we were told...which isn't a big deal. However, for the price we paid for the food, it was extremely disappointing. The chicken cacciatore was dry as were the buns. We had the spinach au gratin...it just tasted plain weird. The tenderloin looked like a mix between lunch meet and Spam. That meal cost us $50 US!
Swimming pool, breakfast buffet (not includet), free shuttle to the airport
Very cold welcome probably due to our appearence (backpackers)
Good location in Managua for the airport but in a great place. Nice hotel to leave from.
Good proximity to airport and nice to have a free shuttle, but probably not great for visiting the rest of Managua if that's what you're after. The room & bed were comfortable. Nice pool and outside eating area. Pretty grounds.
The food was average. Wish there was a hot tub. The casino was too smoky to hang out in.
Close to the airport and they had coffee and tea available early. Before 5 am
Someone came in to service our room while we were at dinner and dropped our kindle on the floor, breaking it.
Great location for pre and post flight as right next to airport. Great breakfast. Nice courtyard and pool.
A little expensive
Friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast
Close to airport. Cleanliness of facility. Restaurant, Front desk staff were very professional and friendly. Food was prepared well.
Beds are not queen size, more a full size bed. Narrower than an actual Queen size bed. Bar and food overpriced. Food was good but luke warm to cool.
Close to airport. Well working shuttle.
The casino was sketchy.
