Situated a 10-minute walk from Granada’s Central Park, the family-run Hotel El Internacional has an outdoor swimming pool and a bar.
Score from 103 reviews Very good
The nice rooms are surrounded by a walled garden, have good shade and several areas for reading or conversation. Breakfast was very good. A short walk to central area of Granada. Reasonably priced rates.
Hotel is somewhat difficult to find. Neighborhood is best appreciated in daylight hours if walking.
I could get antydning I asked for, and the athmosphaire was nice and easy. A hammock or 2 more would be nice.
The owner and staff where very helpful
Only one negative - we did not have hot water
The lady (the owner?) on the reception is very friendly and helpful. This is also nice that you can buy trips (e.g. boat tours) from the agent sitting there.
The shower was a bit tricky.
We appreciated all the help and travel information we received from Yexira and her staff. Hotel Barcelona is a wonderful safe place to stay in Granada. We would highly recommend Hotel Barcelona.
Wifi Private bathrooms
We booked this hotel for fear of ending up in Granada without a place to stay. We found a lot of other places and found that this place was much much more for everything from shuttles, breakfast, and the rooms! Look around first. Don't be afraid to go and then find a room. This place is just too much money.
Nice garden and friendly stuff.
Very far vrom the centre.i faunded the snake in bathroom, very dusty and stuffy in a room. There are not:condicioner, hot water and somitemes even electricity..
6 rooms inline in 3blocks of 2 in a very nice quiet garden. A spacious entree and behind that a nice breakfast area in the top of the garden. Wifi in the room and a very good breakfast can be served
We think that a warm shower would make this tops but as prices are reasonable we do not complain too much.
Very helpful and sweet staff!! Really nice rooms and general atmosphere!
Need a cab after sunset- not very safe quarter!
Staff very helpful
Location is a bit rough. TV in room is very small and bad picture. Breakfast is $5 not $2.5 as advertised and served with an undrinkable orange juice. Besides that its quiet nice.
Récente construction, très beau jardins intérieur, mousticaire, coffre fort. Built recently, nice inner garden, bug screen for over the bed, safety box in the room.
Location, no hot water. Douche fraiche !
Beds were very confortable, garden was nice and fresh, breakfast(including brown bread) was very good (and big). Staff helpful I didn't feel unsafe in this area at all. I think the center is more dangerous. Too many tourists in Granada. Prefer the vibe of Leon
a bit out of the center, but still good to walk and therefor calmer.
the staff was very nice and nice rooms
Friendly staff. Good food. Comfortable bed.
Location is not in tourist area. Short cab or 10-15 minute walk necessary.
The staff are really friendly and helpful, they have lots of information on trips you can take and can arrange these. The rooms are all set in in a lovely courtyard garden, I agree with other comments that the photos don't portray how very quiet and relaxing the place is. Our room didn't have AC but the room fan was very effective. Room was also very clean. Breakfast wasn't included, but was good value and tasty. I thought the location was fine, we actually got to see a more of the non-tourist side of Granada, and it's really not that far from the main square, easily walk-able. Wish we'd stayed longer.
Rooms were very large and comfortable, clean beds were very large. Breakfast had fresh fruit, although the location invited flies to visit.
The location seemed a bit iffy if one was walking around at night, located in a poor local neighborhood. Computer access was dicey. One computer was in Spanish and the other didn't work well. The computers were also located in a beautiful outdoor courtyard and the mosquitoes had a good meal of my legs. As most places we stayed in Nicaragua English was limited and we had a hard time communicating . We were in a bad position because we had been robbed before we got here and things were going down hill fast in terms of our health. Our electronic communications and my husband's insulin had been stolen before we got there.
although advertised there was no internet in the rooms. when asking about it the owner said that it must be an issue with my devices. I have an iphone and an $1000 laptop of 1 year old. when asking other guests they said they had the same issue. be honest! don't blame your customer devices if you fail to get some internet up.
Really friendly staff and very knowledgeable of the highlights in Granada. We felt very welcome since the first moment we arrived and were received with a cool tamarind drink, which was great because it was so hot! The beds are very comfortable, with nice sheets, tv, shower and a fan. All the rooms face the garden which is beautiful with flowers and fruit trees. There is free wireless, comfortable hammocks right next to the front desk and lots of books. Breakfast was great! They had at least 5 different options to choose from and the staff was happy to make any changes requested. The price was good. The location is a bit of a walking from downtown but worth it. If you don’t like walking at night, you can just take a taxi to or from downtown for $1,50. This hotel was originally created as a project to employ women from the community to provide them with a dignified job and income. It is a very positive outcome and a great place to stay. We would definitely stay there again and recommend it to our friends.
The staff was amazing!! very nice and helpful. The hotel garden was so peaceful and tranquil. I recommend eating at hotel, its cheap and very tasty, especially if you want typical food. Hotel is within walking distance to center of town and shopping. Best not to walk to hotel after 9pm. I would definitely come back again.
Not all rooms have AC, recommend you pay the extra few dollars for a room with AC, fans were good, but not always affective against the humidity..
t staffWe liked everything - beautifully set out and well maintained by pleasan
Perhaps not the best location, although the road with the hotel in is fine and the sometimes struggle through the market traders lining the street is always interesting. We were advised to get a taxi back at night, but always walked and never had any problems, everyone being very friendly.
The staff and atmosphere was great. We stayed at a higher end place in Granada ($100+/night) for 2 nights during the beginning of our trip and liked Casa Barcelona just as much, if not more. If it only it had a pool, it would have been perfect! Reading the other reviews, it is clear that some people may have been put off by the location, but my girlfriend and I walked to the central park twice (once returning at 10pm) and we felt completely safe both times. Plus, it allowed us to see part of the city (a really cool local market) we probably would have missed otherwise, and there's always the option of taking a very short cab or carriage ride back to the hotel. Oh, and I almost forgot, the food was some of the best we had in Nicaragua!
Nada! But if you have a vehicle I suggest you let them know ahead of time because the parking seemed a bit limited.
Great staff, great value for money. Good off street parking.
Local area run down.
We loved Hotel Barcelona. The staff was AWESOME and SOOO helpful. They were very friendly and very honest and we would highly recommend Hotel Barcelona to family and friends!! We also found their taxi guy was the best price around and was such a nice patient man.
I wish they had included breakfast in their price.
The woman whose owns the place spoke good english and was very helpful with our questions. She gives a part of her profits back inro the community by paying for some local childrens education.
