The location is out of the way and not close to the Central Park area of Granada nor is it in what I would consider a safe neighborhood. It is also difficult to navigate the narrow and uneven pathways leading to the rooms. The bathroom in my room was a head injury waiting to happen. The commode was extremely close to the lavatory that is housed in a heavy cement vanity with sharp rough edges. One, could receive a nasty gash on their head if not careful. Also there is NO hot water. The water is tepid at best. The breakfast was tasteless with the exception of the fruit.
I found very little to like about this hotel
I had no issues while staying there.
I loved this place. The staff is amazing, really helpful and so kind. The place is only a 10-15 min walk to the city center, and just far away enough to be really peaceful and quiet. Very clean and beautiful rooms.
Tv reception was not the best but no big deal for us.
Comfortable and clean room with plenty of space. Great breakfast. The staff were very helpful. The location is fine, just a short walk to the centre.
the location is out of the "tourist" area, so we did not feel comfortable walking after dark. Not much English spoken
The facility and garden were very nice. the staff was friendly and willing to help
To get to Casa Barcelona from the "downtown" Grenada, expect a 15 minute walk through a stinky, dirty street market, and across a river (of garbage). At night, the staff recommend taking a taxi. Air conditioning is an extra $12USD a night - not overly expensive but add this to the bill because it is SO HOT in Grenada.
Comfortable and clean rooms here. The motel/hotel is run by some mothers in the neighbourhood working to support their families, so you feel good about spending your money here. Everyone is friendly. Allowed to park our truck within the fenced yard of the hotel. Very quiet here considering proximity to Grenada. We were able to put some water and beer into the hotel's fridge, which was nice.
Could be a better tv thats all
It was veery lovely stay that wee had good and nice staff and the owner recomend that place i would stay there another time
The location is off the beaten path, but that didn't really bother us. Just know that you might need to use a taxi here, especially after dark.
Hotel is somewhat difficult to find. Neighborhood is best appreciated in daylight hours if walking.
The nice rooms are surrounded by a walled garden, have good shade and several areas for reading or conversation. Breakfast was very good. A short walk to central area of Granada. Reasonably priced rates.
I could get antydning I asked for, and the athmosphaire was nice and easy. A hammock or 2 more would be nice.
Only one negative - we did not have hot water
The owner and staff where very helpful
The shower was a bit tricky.
The lady (the owner?) on the reception is very friendly and helpful. This is also nice that you can buy trips (e.g. boat tours) from the agent sitting there.
We appreciated all the help and travel information we received from Yexira and her staff. Hotel Barcelona is a wonderful safe place to stay in Granada. We would highly recommend Hotel Barcelona.
We booked this hotel for fear of ending up in Granada without a place to stay. We found a lot of other places and found that this place was much much more for everything from shuttles, breakfast, and the rooms! Look around first. Don't be afraid to go and then find a room. This place is just too much money.
Wifi Private bathrooms
Very far vrom the centre.i faunded the snake in bathroom, very dusty and stuffy in a room. There are not:condicioner, hot water and somitemes even electricity..
Nice garden and friendly stuff.
We think that a warm shower would make this tops but as prices are reasonable we do not complain too much.
6 rooms inline in 3blocks of 2 in a very nice quiet garden. A spacious entree and behind that a nice breakfast area in the top of the garden. Wifi in the room and a very good breakfast can be served
Need a cab after sunset- not very safe quarter!
Very helpful and sweet staff!! Really nice rooms and general atmosphere!
Location is a bit rough. TV in room is very small and bad picture. Breakfast is $5 not $2.5 as advertised and served with an undrinkable orange juice. Besides that its quiet nice.
Staff very helpful
Location, no hot water. Douche fraiche !
Récente construction, très beau jardins intérieur, mousticaire, coffre fort. Built recently, nice inner garden, bug screen for over the bed, safety box in the room.
a bit out of the center, but still good to walk and therefor calmer.
Beds were very confortable, garden was nice and fresh, breakfast(including brown bread) was very good (and big). Staff helpful I didn't feel unsafe in this area at all. I think the center is more dangerous. Too many tourists in Granada. Prefer the vibe of Leon
the staff was very nice and nice rooms
Location is not in tourist area. Short cab or 10-15 minute walk necessary.
Friendly staff. Good food. Comfortable bed.
The staff are really friendly and helpful, they have lots of information on trips you can take and can arrange these. The rooms are all set in in a lovely courtyard garden, I agree with other comments that the photos don't portray how very quiet and relaxing the place is. Our room didn't have AC but the room fan was very effective. Room was also very clean. Breakfast wasn't included, but was good value and tasty. I thought the location was fine, we actually got to see a more of the non-tourist side of Granada, and it's really not that far from the main square, easily walk-able. Wish we'd stayed longer.
The location seemed a bit iffy if one was walking around at night, located in a poor local neighborhood. Computer access was dicey. One computer was in Spanish and the other didn't work well. The computers were also located in a beautiful outdoor courtyard and the mosquitoes had a good meal of my legs. As most places we stayed in Nicaragua English was limited and we had a hard time communicating . We were in a bad position because we had been robbed before we got here and things were going down hill fast in terms of our health. Our electronic communications and my husband's insulin had been stolen before we got there.
Rooms were very large and comfortable, clean beds were very large. Breakfast had fresh fruit, although the location invited flies to visit.
