I loved the quirky building. The staff was outstanding. Manfred took care of everything seamlessly. The "cool tub" was refreshing. A fruit plate and coffee at 4:30am before our flight was wonderful. A generous surprise. Their tour guide was great, picking us up at the airport and taking us on a city tour with shopping.I really liked this place. Dinner wasn't so hot, but I thought we were the only folks on site so asked the cook what was available that was easy for her to make. Later people came in and ordered freely off the menu. Maybe we should have done that.

Manfred the owner went above and beyond to be accommodating and helpful There is little to do in the neighbourhood, definitely not on walking distance, but I'm sure Manfred could organise a taxi to take you to some sights

The owner, Manfred, is such a helpful and knowledgeable man. He was quick to give us a ride in his own car and tell us all about Managua in perfect English. He was very charming. The rooms are nice and clean and had everything you may need. The minifridge was a nice touch too. The location is central but not great for walking to many places. The neighborhood is very nice though.

The host of La Pyramide, Manfred, is the most gracious, friendly and helpful person I have met in a very long time. I cannot say enough good things about how wonderful he made our trip. Managua can be an overwhelming place and Manfred made La Pyramide feel like home on the 3 nights we stayed there over a 9 day trip through Nicaragua. I will never stay anywhere else when in Managua. You could offer me a free room at the InterContinental and I would rather pay to stay at La Pyramide. That's how wonderful an environment Manfred and Sandra have created for their guests. Truly special and not to be missed.

Excellent. Manfred stayed up for our late arrival and even prepared. A fruit plate and fresh juice for us. An excellent host and very helpful in starting a Nica journey. Can't be more grateful. His staff was just like all the people we met there. So grateful and pleasant. We can all learn so much from them.

Good value for your money, friendly staff! Great location close to the city center of Managua with many Bars and restaurants, shopping mall and cinema. The owner Manfred is very nice, helpful and professional and supports his guests with city map and travel information. Food in the hotel restaurant is great and not expensive.

It is rare that one finds a hotel run by such a dedicated individual, who gives incredible personal attention and assistance and genuine care for each and every one of his visitors. The owner takes great pride in what he does, and it shows in this wonderful hotel. I would highly recommend and will hopefully return one day!

Without a doubt, the service provided by Manfred and his staff is first rate. The property itself is a boutique funky motel. Don't expect luxury, but it's well maintained in a good neighborhood with good restaurants in walking distance. We had a medical emergency in our group and Manfred helped with the hospital arrangements. He goes above and beyond.

They arranged a driver from the airport, perfect. We arrived at the hotel after 9 pm. We were greeted shown to our room and asked what we would like for dinner. Then they cooked up a meal for just the two of us. Delicious! My best word to describe this is Relaxing. After a full day of travel we didn't have to look for anything it was there. Highly recommended. The owner is an expat German speaks great English and If you like to talk, like I do, he is fascinating. Oh yeah the breakfast is superb! Need to keep more cold beer on hand. Our ride the next am was 4 hours late, as we were meeting others at airport and going to Grenada. They had to raid some mini bars after we killed off all (4) the cold ones in the kitchen.

The owner, Manfred Marotzka, was very friendly and helpful. He spoke good English and was able to provide us some history and background on the country. He seemed really interested in making our visit enjoyable. He took the time to drove us to one of the destinations we wanted to visited and to the bus stop on our departure (at no charge). We were also impressed with the quality of the food especially the breakfasts. We would definately recommend La Pyramide to anyone visiting Managua. The City of Managua is a little limiting in regard to sites to see and things to do. However, the hotel was located in the new downtown and up and coming HippoZone (with a few interesting restaurants). However, the country of Nicaragua is very interesting. We visited Granada and the Corn Islands - both destinations were incredible!

Managua was an intimidating city, intense traffic, visible poverty, much garbage and pollution. As a first time traveller, I was nervous driving through the city and had no desire to tour around. Luckily Hotel La Pyramide was secure, clean and comfortable. The food was home cooked and delicious. There are many sitting areas and you truly feel like a guest in someone's home! I slept like a baby, and every need was taken care of by the owner and staff! As I speak and read little Spanish, I would have liked to see the food/beverage menu in English.

The owner/operator was extremely accommodating and friendly. The food was excellent as was the house keeping. Very good value for the hotel. Nicaragua in general is not accustomed to tourism. One thing is that menu's should be in English also. The staff , though extremely courteous, do not understand the language.

Manfred and his staff where extremely helpful and relaxed about any requests or questions. Manfred assisted me with an issue I had with missing luggage from an airline in Central America. I cannot fault the level of personal service Manfred and his hotel staff offered. La Pyramide is clean and comfortable and not your everyday design of a hotel which adds to the charm of the place. It is located near Zona Roza, about 5 minute walk and only $2 or $3 taxi ride from the cities main attractions.
