getting to hotel
far from san Juan sur (an half hour by taxi, more than 1,5 hour by foot); the cost of any rent (bike, quad, ecc) is not available or expensive.
I really enjoyed this location. It was amazing waking up each morning to the sound of the waves crashing and the beauty of the beach. The sand is only steps away from the room. There is a pool and the room rate includes breakfast that was delicious! It's a little ways from the main city San Juan Del Sur but it's great because it's like your private beach!
Bring some extra cash for taxi rides to the city but with the room rate so low it's affordable and definitely worth staying here. Great for relaxation and couples.
Breakfast was very delicious, the beach not crowded, very peaceful, staff very helpful. This place was one of the best in Nicaragua that I have seen. Looking forward to go back.
About 10 km of dirt and bumpy road to get there
The room was dirty, The bathroom also. There is no way to get to San juan but The taxi that charge you 20 dollars. Nice beach
The location of place was amazing. Beach front, you really can't ask for more. We stayed in the villa the views are breath taking. And it was nice to have air conditioning in the bedroom.
The back roads to get there are awful. It had rain previously before we got there so getting to the resort was a nightmare. If you go there I would suggest going in an SUV. We drove a Toyota Corolla, never again! There really isn't much there. But the views make up for it. The shower times wouldn't have any water. There was a small little stream that came out and we had 5 people so it was a little annoying shower with the small small stream. There isn't much of a variety for food but we weren't picky so it wasn't much of the problem.
Beautiful beach and secluded location. Friendly and helpful staff. Really recommend this resort as staff are excellent and the cabanas are very well positioned right on the beach front. Awesome rugged beach right at your doorstep and very quiet and relaxing time to be had lazing on your front porch in the mornings and afternoons with fulll view of a spectacular beach.
20 dollars to get into San Juan del Sur in a taxi so return to resort is 40 dollars. Having your own vehicle would be reccommended. Limited places to eat as it is so expensive to leave the resort.
The beach is amazing! The bar and restaurant were also good. Definitely worth a day visit.
The rooms are awful. And we tried both the outer cabins and the closer-in rooms. They were both very noisy with all the other guests sounding like they were inside the room with you. If you don't care about warm AC and bugs maybe this place will be fine for you. Oh, unless the smell of the septic tank filling up the bathrooms bothers you too. It did me, so we left.
The beach, the food
Broken windows, broken pool table, tv didn't work, wasps inside the cabana, broken fridge door
incredible location right on the beach, price ok, staff friendly, availability to use kayaks, close to madeira beach (3km)
food/breakfast ok, no waves and thus no use for surfboards at this beach, air-condition
The place was quite and clean. The staff was fantastic, they readily answered questions about anything and everything. If you are looking for a more private beach this is definately the place to go. Less populated but with easy access to multiple restaurants and one more populated surfing beach and another beach on either side.
The views were spectacular and the staff was so friendly.
I was not able to get the last two days of my trip in an ac room so I ended up going to another place in San Juan Del Sur
There's nothing like staying right on a beautiful, sparsely populated beach. It was great to be able to walk from our cottage to the dining room for breakfast. We also rented a kayak. Overall, we really liked it there.
Water is brackish so doesn't taste good. Electricity was out for part of one day, but it wasn't too problematic. They weren't sure if I had paid for the 2 nights so I paid just in case. I hope I didn't pay twice.
