That my trip wasn't longer!
Soma was more than we could have asked for. First, the property itself is gorgeous-- big, clean, modern rooms with comfortable beds, AC, and walk in stone showers. The infinity pool, the hammocks, the dogs, and the food? Out of this world. The grounds are stunning and this is a high quality place, not not sterile-- there's a lot of love in this place. To top it off, Bill (and presumably Casey, though we didn't have the chance to meet her since she was away during our stay) were absolutely lovely. Bill drove us to the local spots everyday (just a short 5 minute ride away, but there aren't any properties of this caliber actually on the beach...just hostels) and taught us how to surf. I was a little nervous I'd make a fool of myself but he made it so much fun and was a great teacher. There were only 5 of us (including my sister and me) staying at soma while we were here, and we ate dinner together every night and got to know each other. It was great.
Honestly, this is one of the most beautiful places I've been and you can really tell that the folks who run it--Bill, Casey, and their whole staff-- care a lot. I'm already planning my next trip back. If you're looking for a little piece of paradise, this is it.
