Hotel Aalborg

Storleken på rummet var minimal - det fanns inte plats att öppna resväskan på golvet. Sängarna mycket obekväma. Lyhört.På morgonen fanns inget varmvatten och när vi checkade ut fick vi veta att vi skulle ha sagt till så hade de slagit på varmvattenberedaren! Jag utgår ifrån att varmvatten skall finnas utan att man behöver säga till.

Location was ok. 15-20 min walk from the center

Room really too small. Noise from other rooms, hoover on a sunday morning in the corridor !

The room and the bathroom were perfect and.... there was the elevator!!!

24 hour reception, friendly staff, clean room, good wi-fi even on top floor, good area with lots of great cafes and restaurants, short walk to Heineken Experience

very small room & bathroom, location out of the centre, quite expensive for what it was, all rooms had ashtrays - inviting smoking!, quite noisy both from people in other rooms and from the outside, breakfast not included and extra charge for using credit card - which is required to book on booking.com but then the hotel took the money in advance from the same credit card, which meant I was charged extra - I was under the impression that I would pay on arrival and could use cash or a different card.

Convenience for city and friendliness of staff. Hotel was nice and clean

Situated in a really nice neighbourhood (De Pijp quarter) with lots of nice cafés and restaurants and Albert Cuyp street market. Staff was very friendly, reception is 24 hours open. wlan worked really well.

It was fairly convenient to get around the city. The bus stops were close by. Free Wifi and scored free breakfast. But for it's just continental breakfast. It was good but definitely not worth 9 euros.

I didn't like the fact that I had to pay 1.50 euro for hot water. There are no kettle in the rooms so I have asked one of the staff for hot water to make my own tea. Not only did I have to wait for it to boil, and bring it up myself, I have to pay 1.50 euros! Then I asked for iron, and they don't have any available because it was all rented out. Do irons cost that much in Europe to have one in each room?? It wasn't just this hotel, the entire city tries to rip everyone off because of the IBC event.

Quet, good conection by city transport, very nice park for walking and sporting opositte the hotel

Quite close to the center but by tram. Tram connection is very easy ans good. Rooms are small but i think all rooms in budget hotels.

Very kind staff, comfortable and well connected by transports (10 minutes by tram from Central Station)

Little common areas

Everybody have been so nice to our little family. We had to spend a lot of evening in the hotel bar/garden cause of the baby sleeping in the room... and we had a great time. It was our second stay there... and there will be a third when we go back to Amsterdam.

It can be a bit noizy at night. There was rotten/wet spots in the bathroom, but who cares when you have a giant bath!

It worked well for me. The main things it has going for it is it's pretty clean, staffed 24 hours, and is in a really nice area. The park across the street is great, there are cafes and restaurants up the street, and the street market is but two blocks away. The stairs are steep -- take the lift. And the room is tiny, but manageable.

The shower was horrible. Maybe I just couldn't figure it out, but the tub design was exceedingly difficult to use; the knob for hot water leaked extremely hot water and the shower curtain was too long and too big for that pole. Getting out was always a chore and one time I slipped, fell on my back on the tub and took the curtain down with me. Honestly it's hard for me to imagine a more difficult shower design. Until the fall, I was very upbeat about it, thinking it was a cultural learning experience...but it unfortunately crossed the line for me. Overall, for solo folks I think this place works, but I wouldn't stay here with a friend or partner.
