The famous Vondelpark functions as a backyard garden to Hotel City Garden, which is on the fancy P.C. Hooftstraat shopping street. It offers rooms with street or park views.

The staff was helpful throughout our stay and we pleasantly surprised that they were willing to provide breakfast 5:15 in morning after hearing about our early flight home. We were told not expect a full meal but what we found laid out for us was quite grand. Thank you Hotel Aalders for surpassing our expectations.
friendly, clean, good value.
no staff spoke to me in the breakfast room.
The location is really excelent, near all the main transports from and to the airport and into the center of Amsterdam. The street is very beautiful and calm, and is right in the Museum Quartier! The building is also very typical wich was just like we wanted. Good breakfast and good room, not very spacious but quite enought to sleep... in Amsterdam we just want to get out! The hotel provides good discounts in some tickets. If we return to Amsterdam we definitly will stay here again!
Nothing to say!
Early 20th century building so lots of charm and quirky features. Fireplace in the breakfast room was very ornate. Excellent location for airport bus, walk to canal cruises, museums, hop on/off bus
Room very small but very quiet as back of building. No fridge in room and mattress lumpy but still very good value and convenient
The staff was amazing! Nice breakfast, coffee shop / bar for other times. Location can not be beat for museums & canal tours. It is calm, not party, drug / red light district Amsterdam, but rather sophisticated, cultured, family friendly Amsterdam. One of the few hotels in this price range with an elevator. Taxi stand / tram stop just a block away.
Small rooms. But there are larger rooms available. My teenage son had the smallest single room, and it was tiny. Not a ton of restaurants in the area. We went to Rembrantplatz for meals.
5 minutes walk to vondelpark, 25 min walk to redlight or other similar attractions, very confy bed (although a little bit small), nice bathroom, good cold breakfast, easy tram acces (if you are very lazy and it.s hard to walk 2..3 km), great staff.
The staff was friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was also perfect for a long day of exploring. The museums are two blocks away and the hotel is on the prettiest tree line street. If I go back to Amsterdam I would stay there again.
The shower - my problem as I am not used to European showers. Soaked the bathroom floor the first time in used it.
The hotel is alongside one of the upmarket shopping areas in Amsterdam and a few minutes walk from a number of bars, restaurants and the museum quarter. The rooms are perfect for a short stay. Our room looked out onto a quiet street. The bathroom was small with a wet room type shower. The room was cleaned each morning. Breakfast was good with a selection of cereals, meat, cheese, bread, jams and fruit. It is a self serve breakfast room with juice and coffee/tea machine to hand. The staff were friendly and on hand to answer any questions. We would stay here again.
It would have been nice to have tea and coffee making facilities in the room.
Great place, great price, awesome location for walking distances to Amsterdam attractions!!!
I would have loved to have air conditioning, that's all.
Location Luggage storage both at start and end of trip Friendly helpful staff
Friendly and personal little hotel. Nice people, and good wi-fi.
Close to everything.breakfast was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful
- convenient location close to Rijksmuseum and Tram lines - very friendly and helpful staff
- very small room, bathroom ridiculously so - breakfast was just OK (few spreads, no scrambled eggs etc.)
Location. Good room size. Balcony to back garden. Staff was great. Breakfast
Slow elevator. Steep stairs
Friendly staff, great location, comfortable and very clean room.
The location to the Museum area and close to one of the main tram lines
Provided a beautiful breakfast, well presented and of very good quality.
Nothing - all good.
nice reception. Teresa was very helpful!
Quiet peaceful location near to the museums.
The perfect 3 star hotel. Clean and friendly. Personal but professional. Very good location for the museums.
Few restaurants nearby, recommend a walk to the Pijpe-district instead.
Quiet, friendly, efficient. Went out of their way to provide a breakfast at 0615 before my departure! Situated in pleasant tree-lined street, perfect for the museums and bus/tram transport.
Atmosphere; welcoming, adaptable to one's needs. Although bedroom was compact it was perfect for our needs. So very well placed to the big museums, and walkable to lanes of shops. In short, brilliant.
There was nothing one did not like.
Very central - great location. Very good transport links, including nearby bus to airport. Pleasant staff.
Can't think of anything... breakfast pleasant but some fruit salad would have been nice.
I liked the close proximity to the Museums and transportation.
I found the restaurant and shopping options limited near this area.
