I enjoyed all the aspects of my stay: the staff was friendly and extraordinarily helpful. Breakfast was good and the room fine.
Courteous, friendly staff - all spoke excellent English Very quiet and convenient location Spacious room Excellent en-suite facilities Good choice at breakfast Useful access to internet facilities
The steep stairs may be an issue for some people (not us), although there is a lift
Location, you'll be able to get to the VG Museum in a 2 minutes Walk! The Rijsk is about 5 minutes walk. The Street of this Hotel is very pleasant also with a lot of trees. Very nice district especially if you wanna avoid from the Turistic Center and Red Light District. Very Quiet. The pleasant view. not wonderfull, but pleasant and quiet. The Breakfast. The price.
The Bed sooo soft, too Soft, for me... but my girlfriend enjoyed / liked it... The tiny room (but according to the price this isn't a bad deal)
It was quiet and comfortable and in the perfect location for visiting the galleries, park and the city centre. It's a two minute walk to Riejksmuseum and Van Gogh museum. There are some good restaurants nearby, a top-end shopping street one street over and a mid-range shopping street at the end of the road. The park is just around the corner. Double plus good, the bus from the airport (and trams to the city center) stops almost right outside!
Nice stuff, cleanliness, location, wifi
Loved one the desk staff, (tall skinny guy). Loved the breakfast. LOVED the location
The female staff person was not as helpful and friendly - kind of acted like it was a burden to assist in any way. The room was very TINY.
Room was spacious and clean.
Breakfast was mediocre.
The location is very good, especially if you are visiting the museums. Close to a tram stop, only 6 stops or aprox. 10 min to the Dam Square. Several nice restaurants and a supermarket in the neighborhood. The front desk staff, everybody was friendly and helpful.
The bathroom had NO ventilation at all, would stay misty for hours after you take a shower. Due to the poor bathroom organization the floor would get wet when using the shower and would not dry at all. We had to use the towels to dry the floor, or would end up with wet pants after using the toilet. The room cleaning time was unpredictable, usually very late. The breakfast was a bit on the weak side.
Friendly staff; good breakfast choice; easy access to museums and transport but quiet. Reponded to advance requests for good lighting and garden aspect. Non-smoking throughout.
Non-mixer shower, hard to adjust; gave up trying after two days. If average price for room as posted true (twice what I paid), not good value
Comfortable bed, great wifi, buying entry tickets and Amsterdam pass, location just right for our needs, enjoyable breakfast
No shampoo individual bottles, soap or cream rinse..no small face cloths
Of the location, of peaple, the breackfast coud have more fruits
Of the bathroom. There is no place inside of the shower place to put shampoo, hair condicionarie and anything Else we can personaly need.
Great location in Museum District, quiet and peaceful, but only 1 block from the top 2 museums and Vondel Park. Very close to good dining, adequate breakfast in hotel, clean, old but elegant. I would stay here again. Superb neighborhood. Safe.
Staff was a little unhelpful at times, but courteous also. Bathroom did not have soap/shampoo products, only 3 shoe mitts. Housekeeping should be more attentive when preparing rooms. Desk clerk did not communicate well with guests during morning calls for taxi cabs.
Room was large and beds were comfortable. Great location near museums and some restaurants. Staff was very helpful - we had to leave for the airport at 5:00 am & we were offered breakfast for 4:30 am.
Efficient and kind staff Tremendous location near the Rijksmuseum Clean and spacious room Good breakfast
The staff was helpful throughout our stay and we pleasantly surprised that they were willing to provide breakfast 5:15 in morning after hearing about our early flight home. We were told not expect a full meal but what we found laid out for us was quite grand. Thank you Hotel Aalders for surpassing our expectations.
friendly, clean, good value.
no staff spoke to me in the breakfast room.
The location is really excelent, near all the main transports from and to the airport and into the center of Amsterdam. The street is very beautiful and calm, and is right in the Museum Quartier! The building is also very typical wich was just like we wanted. Good breakfast and good room, not very spacious but quite enought to sleep... in Amsterdam we just want to get out! The hotel provides good discounts in some tickets. If we return to Amsterdam we definitly will stay here again!
Nothing to say!
Early 20th century building so lots of charm and quirky features. Fireplace in the breakfast room was very ornate. Excellent location for airport bus, walk to canal cruises, museums, hop on/off bus
Room very small but very quiet as back of building. No fridge in room and mattress lumpy but still very good value and convenient
The staff was amazing! Nice breakfast, coffee shop / bar for other times. Location can not be beat for museums & canal tours. It is calm, not party, drug / red light district Amsterdam, but rather sophisticated, cultured, family friendly Amsterdam. One of the few hotels in this price range with an elevator. Taxi stand / tram stop just a block away.
Small rooms. But there are larger rooms available. My teenage son had the smallest single room, and it was tiny. Not a ton of restaurants in the area. We went to Rembrantplatz for meals.
5 minutes walk to vondelpark, 25 min walk to redlight or other similar attractions, very confy bed (although a little bit small), nice bathroom, good cold breakfast, easy tram acces (if you are very lazy and it.s hard to walk 2..3 km), great staff.
The staff was friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was also perfect for a long day of exploring. The museums are two blocks away and the hotel is on the prettiest tree line street. If I go back to Amsterdam I would stay there again.
The shower - my problem as I am not used to European showers. Soaked the bathroom floor the first time in used it.
The hotel is alongside one of the upmarket shopping areas in Amsterdam and a few minutes walk from a number of bars, restaurants and the museum quarter. The rooms are perfect for a short stay. Our room looked out onto a quiet street. The bathroom was small with a wet room type shower. The room was cleaned each morning. Breakfast was good with a selection of cereals, meat, cheese, bread, jams and fruit. It is a self serve breakfast room with juice and coffee/tea machine to hand. The staff were friendly and on hand to answer any questions. We would stay here again.
It would have been nice to have tea and coffee making facilities in the room.
Great place, great price, awesome location for walking distances to Amsterdam attractions!!!
I would have loved to have air conditioning, that's all.
