This small family-run hotel is on a quiet street, within walking distance of the Vondelpark, Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum. It has basic accommodations and bike rental on site.
Score from 11 reviews Excellent
Good location on tram route, clean, friendly, comfortable bed and good furniture in room, balcony, many power points in rooms, TV, excellent price.
The bedroom doors and floor exit doors have strong governers and close very loudly. Guests sometimes talk loudly and close the doors loudly in the middle of the night, waking sleeping guests up. Could a notice be put on the bedroom doors asking guests to be quiet late at night ?
Breakfast, close to center, very nice staff.
The hotel was very professional and informed me that it was smoker-friendly before charging my credit card. They were very quick to respond to emails and the staff were polite and helpful. The price was reasonable, considering its location (~20 min walk to town center proper). The facilities were basic but most importantly, the room was clean and comfortable.
It is a smoker-friendly hotel which is to say that smoking is permitted everywhere in the hotel, including the rooms. For a non-smoker, the smell can be overwhelming. The smell is in everything, including the bed, carpet, cupboard and even the shower curtain. Furthermore, the air freshener/cologne that was used to mask the smell only made things worse. If I had to describe the smell, it was a sickly sweet with a strong hint of smokiness. Take this into consideration if one is a non-smoker.
Free breakfast and many choose, free wifi, good location. two people but gave us a large room with three beds.everything is good.
If you have a big suitcase, it would be a hard work to go upstairs to your room on foot.
Good location minutes walk from citycenter. For amsterdam in its class one of the better ones. Friendly staff, well in english. Half hour with public transport from airport.
Like most of hotels in this class there is no elevator, steep amsterdam stairs so prepare to carry your luggage up :)
Good location. Free Wi-fi. Private bathroom.
Bed was a bit small.
Price Decent enough breakfast
Not as central as could be, room smelt a little smoky
Good location the staff were very friendly and helpful the accommodation vastly exceeded my expectations and I recommend anyone traveling on a budget that the Abba is a wise choice
Breakfast (fresh coffee!) The staff were great (A polish man especially was really friendly and helpful!) The bed was soo comfy! Great location, night shop right opposite, really close to bars, parks, canals....
The one thing we would've liked was a tea/coffee making facility.
Breakfast very bad very arrogant staff not a hotel rather a hostel
poor quality t.v.
Good location, good breakfast, nice staff...
Location is "everything" they say... Not at this price.
85 Euros for one night in a room with no working TV, uncomfortable beds, a couple of electrical outlets, etc...
Location was great, very good quality for money (don't expect luxury) and the included breakfast was ok
No 24h reception
Helpful, Friendly Staff. Clean, Next to supermarket. Good breakfast. I have been many times to this hotel.
Very friendly staff, very helpful with everything. Free WiFi that worked better on the lobby that on the room, but they have a computer free to use with printer on the lobby. Hotel's neighborhood is great, with a supermarket downstairs, coffee shops across the street and bike rental places around the corner. Tramway stop is in front of the hotel door (it can be noisy because of this, if you are not used to the sound)
Room a little bit old, with some humidity smells coming from the shower and located in a 4th floor without elevator, with typical Amsterdam
You get what you pay for but was very clean with friendly staff and a decent breakfast with good coffee. Easy to find and close to wherever you wanted to go
Everything that I liked on previous visits: relaxed atmosphere, great staff, good breakfast
The bed really is too soft, even if one considers that this is a matter of personal taste. And a second towel wouldn't come amiss, for those of us with hair.
Location was excellent, breakfast was OK. The room was small but had everything needed. It's smoker friendly which isn't a plus for me but I'm sure that's a hit in this town.
The building is old so the walls are thin and you can hear everything that goes on in the rooms closer.
Location, Wi-Fi, most of the staff and breakfast are good.
There is a rude guy who stays in the reception at nights. Because of him I'll never choose this hotel again.
We just went to Amsterdam on 23 Jan. Easy to locate the hotel and there is supermarket below. Very convenience location and few stops away from centraal station. Do note that there is no lift for the hotel. Do travel with small luggage bag.
I am very pleased with your stay at the hotel. The rooms are comfortable, the location is very good
