price, helpful staff
it's just a little outside the the nightlife in Amsterdam. So maybe you won't find a tram available early in the morning to go back to the hotel. But it's possible to go walking, if you are not tired.
nice breakfast, clean room, shared bathroom but very clean, wifi, quiet room to the courtyard, computer with printer at the reception...:)
very steep stairs and no lift - but most of the houses in Amsterdam are like that :)
wifi, clean, shower
Wi fi was good in the room. Breakfast was OK.
The room was very small, so was the bathroom..very cramped. There was no toilet paper and when i went to the reception to ask them, the guy told me that I would have to wait for 2 hours till the cleaning staff come and put a new roll!! the heating in the room was bad.
The hotel is well localizated. It's near tram ligns 1,3 and 12. It's near to canal's pier Leidseplein and to Heineken's bar. There is a supermarket just below the hotel and an automatic cash machine just in front of it.
As I arrived people said to me " I hope your baggage isn't so heavy... because you have a long stair to climb up". And i had no help after that. Besides, it had a hole on my sheets and it has never being exchanged for 5 days! At the last day I guess it had some problem with the pipes... the smell wasn't good as well... thus I think I won't come back.
It was clean and conveniently located to everything. Breakfast was included staff was great made everything easy! Love them! They were overly helpful to me. Beds were very comfortable. Rooms were clean.. Over all I would stay here again! I give it 4 stars in my book!
The only thing to me was the stairs, but I couped with it was a small down size..
- a decent breakfast - a big balcony overlooking a nice courtyard - towels included
- very steep and narrow stairs
We booked a room with shared bathroom but we shared it with only one room. Rooms and bathroom are clean, breakfast is good, stuff is nice. Tram station is in front of hotel.
A lot of stairs. We were on last floor and our luggage was heavy, but after awhile you get used :)
Location is a plus. It's budget accommodation, but good value for money, given the fact that Amsterdam is pricey. I'd certainly recommend it to other travellers. Our room was clean and spacious.
I didn't expect much based on other reviews, but I'd say the hotel needs some renovations, especially in the bathrooms, but nothing in urgent need of repair.
price ,but if I Knew that what will happen to me will pay double to avoid that terrible hotel !!
everything very old hotel no A/C Poor WiFi On elevators ! you reach your room while you are breathing out !! terrible stairs just like climbing a mountain will never come again
The location of the hotel is just perfect, you have the thing you need around. The staff is really nice espacially the girl with brown hairs. The room ( 74 first floor) is really nice for 3 person. Good breakfast included.
The Tv on the room is not an obligation, too old now. The wifi doesn't work really good.
reasonable price, convenient for buying glossaries, in front of tram station.
-Clean toilets, -clean beds -good breakfast -good location -value for money
-climbing up stairs with baggages is like doing an up-sailing activity -slow as a turtle wifi -no shampoo , no shower gel , no fan no ac
Back rooms with balcony were just great, nice breakfast,
Was pretty good for a budget hotel. Location was ok. Close to Leidseplein and also had a tram stop right outside the hotel. Staff was friendly.
Its a budget hotel so expectations were adjusted.
Friendly staff and conveniently located.
The beds leave a bit to be desired
For the money we paid we were really pleased with the hotel. It is very basic but nice and clean which is the main thing. Staff were really helpful and we would definitely chose hotel abba again when visiting amsterdam.
Comfy bed Clean facilities Towels provided Breakfast included Very close to tram stop Walking distance to restaurants and supermarket literally right out the door
Breakfast hours weren't long enough would appreciate until 11am, steep stairs which weren't really a problem for us but just a heads up! Other than that no other problems!
First, getting to and from the airport by express bus was amazingly efficient and, with an ov chipcard, only 3 euro. Most important, the most important museums are in easy walking distance and the others are easily reached using the incredible tram system. Similarly, ethnic restaurants in the Pijp district, bypassing the large number of tourist-types, are in walking distance.
The challenge at this hotel is to get a good night's sleep. The rooms provide little buffer for conversations in adjacent rooms. The doors make a load noise when people enter and leave adjacent rooms (including to use the shared bathroom.
La cama ya vieja y hundida
Location was excellent! You can walk to Leidseplein and everywhere or take a tram.
Good position. Easy to go to Schipol by bus (197) and easy to go to the center just walking.
Good location, Tram right outside. Request a room at the back, it's much quieter. We had a shared bathroom which was clean and easily usable. You can smoke! Free breakfast (which I didn't try but smelt good), friendly staff. Nice balcony, and room very clean. English tv channels, and wardrobe.
Being a cheaper hotel it depends who is sharing the bathroom with you I'm guessing. Same with other guests, was quiet for first 3 days but last day was very loud at night. You must ask for a WiFi key, no hairdryer in room.
Nicely packed and located for the price!
Basic breakfast included was nice. Location was decent, next to Vondelpark, good for a run or walk. Walking in to Amsterdam centre takes time, alternatively there is a tram right outside the hotel.
VERY squeaky floorboards from the guests above us. Walls were paper thin so we could hear everyone around us. I complained to reception about noisy giggling girls at 3am and they told me to deal with it myself.
