The hallway and the apartment stunk really really bad of like mould or something . The beds weren't too comfy and the whole place wasn't too clean either.
Staff were so kind and attentive, we arrived early and was shattered from our long coach journey, the gentleman on the front desk prioritised us to get s room as soon as possible.
Breakfast was lovely but wasn't replenished
Location and staff are brilliant. The loft is just superb
If I had to say anything it would be we stayed in the loft every time and with it being AMSTERDAM sometimes the struggle to make it to the peak after exploring amsterdams pleasentries was a challenge. Nothing bad about the place other than that
Super friendly staff. Great location. Loved the historic old building and that narrow staircase! I was backpacking so... Easy breezy.
have a look below of what you get for 344€: - Dirty (walls, carpet, toilets) - Noisy (broken windows, and thin walls) - Cold (broken windows) - No suitable furniture to work - tobacco smell (despite the warnings) All this for 344€ This is unacceptable.
Upon arrival the front desk (or lack of front desk) tried to tell me that I booked 2 rooms, when I knew I only booked one room for my husband and I. (I also knew only one room was confirmed in my email that hotel agora themselves sent me) however without putting in the wifi code I wasn't able to bring up my email till I later was In my room. The man in charge of the front desk made me feel uncomfortable, and embarrassed by scolding me and insisting I booked 2 rooms, and that I was "lucky" they weren't going to charge me for the extra room since it was already pass the time of cancelation. When I later logged into the wifi and I was able to check my email.. There it was in black in white that I indeed only booked one room and they were the ones that made the mistake. Just be aware, I'm not sure if that was an attempt of a scam. But either way it was uncomfortable and embarrassing to be scolded when I didn't do anything wrong in the first place.
Location was excellent and wifi good.
It was very expensive.the furniture in room it was very old.
Really central in amsterdam, once there travelling was made easy with just a bike.
Breakfast Staff size of room comfort beds
The staff was extremely impolite. By the time I arrive I already paid via the booking.com, so I did not have any other option but to stay there. The hotel staff knew this and it was like "you wanna stay you stay, but you are welcome to leave, but stop asking questions, it is late and I wanna sleep". The reception guy (named Anuj) suggested to park the car right in front of the hotel, and he saw where I put my car. In the morning after check out I realised my car was towed away because it was parked in the wrong place. The night I stayed there was no heating at all in the room (it was on 21st January 2015) and the radiators were not functioning at all.The other reception guy who came to check the radiators promised to reimburse the total amount paid through booking.com and he said I will receive the paid amount in cash in the morning after check-out, but in the morning the reception lady told me the hotel never does the refunds, especially if this was already paid via online. So I would b\never recommend the hotel to anyone - my car was towed away due to the staff and the room was extremely cold all night long to due to radiators not functioning at all in the middle of the winter season, besides the hotel staff promised to refund the paid money but it did not happen.
Only five-ten minutes to dam and red lights . Staff very friendly also have free maps . At the breakfast they also have nutella . Everything perfect.
on of top ten hotel, i stayed in alots of hotel in amsterdam, and this hotel made it to top ten list
I liked breakfast, it was very nice.
If you are planning to get with heavy luggage there is not elevator. Bed was little bit uncomfortable.
The room we were given looked nothing like the gallery of images portraying this place as "nice." It's old, dirty, smelly and nothing beyond some dingy crack den! The bed is too small for too adults to share and the sheets are old. The breakfast was appalling, which makes sense as to why it was free: no one in their right mind would eat it! Avoid like the plague!!!
Talked at length to several different staff during 5 night stay, all were nice, on leaving person asked me about my stay. Very nice breakfast spread with good coffee. The room had an old desk and wardrobe, which I liked (maybe some people won't), but the bathroom was very new / tiled with a lot of surface area for putting toiletries. In other words - modern where it counts. The location is on the 1, 2, and 5 tram lines. Catch the 2 or 5 to go to museums or Concert-Gebouw.
Their inner door (going up to rooms) didn't automatically close all the way sometimes. This did not concern me security-wise, but others could feel differently (the outer door would always be locked when receptionist was away). Very steep stairs, but that is a commonplace at hotels.
Location Room Staff are great (they let me call London from the hotel x free) Great breakfast Bikes!!
The wifi was poor on the 3rd floor
Wifi and location
There is a disco near hotel dont stay especially friday night. Breakfasts are very poor nothing except for 1-2 kind of thing
The location, the four people room was big and its bathroom was clean. The temperature os the room was fine. Staff really nice.
The mattress weren´t very confortable, they should change them. Althought there was not any lift the stairs weren´t the worst I have seen in my life... all Amsterdam stairs are the same!! And it is charming!
good location, staff
breakfest could be better, poor wi-fi connections
Location, easy to find, excellent breakfast, lovely staff.
Noise from nightclub (felt like they were in the room next door).
We loved the hotel and the apartment was comfortable.
They don't have elevator. We had to go to our apartament by ladders and it was very difficult with big bags.
location and staff
I don't understand why people keep giving negative comments about this hotel. Everything was perfect for the money we paid, the location (trams 1,2 and 5 from the central station, just drop you off the corner of the hotel) the room capacity and cleanliness, the breakfast as well.
Our room was beneath the stairs so normally we "lost" a little bit of the space between the bed and the wall, you couldn't pass through with your baggage. I am sure that not all of the rooms are like this. I think was room number 21, so choose another one..
