Perfect location, near the Flower market, and within easy walking distance from major attractions, city center, Dam square, cruises etc. Modern look and feel, great service and amazing food at downstairs restaurant. Excellent coffee in the room. the building is old, like most buildings in Amsterdam but the hotel is refurbished. Maybe slightly bigger rooms would be nice, but then again this is the building...

The Albus hotel is a very warm hotel, its design is vey nice, the staff was very nice an helping. We stucked in the city 2 more nights and they very understanding and helping. We took the superior room which was very comfortable and large enough. The location is just perfect!! It is near all main attractions, so we bearly needed to use the tram but went by foot to everywhrere. We enjoyed our stay very much and will defenately recommend on it to our friends. We got our room in the thirs floor, the window was to the front of the street which is busy most of the day and the night. When the window was close there was slightly noise but when it was open it was very noisy. There was no air condition in the room but we new it in advance.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Purchasing the tickets for the Heineken museum saved us a wait of approximatley an hour and was hassle free. The hotel was kept very clean at all times, quiet and an ideal location. There was a breeze coming from the window disturbing my girlfriends sleep. We did complain about this. The only thing maintenance did was to place abit of masking tape around the window. This didnt resolved anything. For 2/2 nights she was disturbed.

The staff were extremely friendly from the moment we arrived and took the time to personally show us to our room. We also loved the design of the room, the computer desk and the spacious bathroom. The room was very quiet for sleeping and the bed was huge! We also really enjoyed the breakfast which was included in our room price.

Location is perfect Personel is very friendly Don't ever take room 405, unless you like to stay awake at night. Very noisy, you can hear everything going on outside. A room without isolated windows, other rooms are. Cannot imagine we are the first ones to complain about this.

The hotel was centrally located within easy walking distance of all museums , restaurants, shopping and attractions. The rooms were spacious for a city centre hotel and very stylishly designed and attractive. Due to its central location our room was very noisy on the Saturday night, the soundproofing could definitely be improved. However I understand there are other rooms to the back of the hotel which are quieter. My main complaint however was that the hotel charged the full price to my credit card ( not simply pre-authorised) on two separate occasions prior to our arrival, despite the terms of booking stating that we would not be charged until arrival. When I noticed this on my credit card statement and contacted booking.com they did immediately act on my behalf and swiftly contacted the hotel for my refund, which I promptly recieved. However I would rather this had not happened and would probably not book this hotel again as a result.

Convenient location. I was not given the room I had asked for as the hotel was "fully booked"... Apparently, I wasn't one of the chosen crowd... I was then "upgraded" to a triple room which happened to be... In the basement!.. With no windows, a pillar in front of the desk and you had to jump over the bed to get to the other side of the room. For €200 a night, I think that it is shameful.

Location Very small hotel. Would not recommend for long stay, only for 1-2 nights like weekend breaks. Double charged me for my stay - first 1 day before our check-in and second when check-in. No logical explanations I was not given.

Excellent location. Spacious and very comfortable room. Staff is not very pleasant. Breakfast is very expensive but there are a couple of restaurants near the hotel that are cheaper. Water pressure in the shower is very poor. Even though we asked for a double room, the hotel offered us a twin room.

The location was perfect and just a short walk from the tram stop. The staff were friendly and offered us a map marking out all the places to go. This hotel is about 2/3 stops away from Dam Sq ( only a matter of minutes on the tram or a short walk ). We didn't eat in the hotel but the food looked lovely. Hotel is spotless , very friendly staff , great location with a small supermarket behind it. Well worth the money and would defo be my first choice when we return This is only something small and I understand why it's done. On checking in the receptionist welcommed us and pulled up our booking. She then proceeded to tell us we were booked into one of the smallest rooms in the hotel and she could offer us an upgrade for an extra nightly fee. Even though she made our room out To be nothing special we stook with it and decided against an upgrade. We were happy with a clean bed and shower. As it happens our room was perfect. Their was plenty of space with a big bathroom. My advice to anyone travelling is don't take the upgrade. See your room and if your not happy then request the upgrade. I was so happy we didn't waste the extra money on an upgrade

The hotel is very well located, and quite near the most frequented hot spots. The staff was friendly and helpful. On the day of check out we could leave our luggage in the hotel until we left in the evening. The check in was possible at an earlier time than described in the rules. unfortunately the room was not as clean as it should have been as it is a a four star hotel, for example the bath robe was totally dirty. Furthermore parts of the furniture were nagged and the windows did not completely isolated. When we were there, it was no big problem, because the weather was warm enough. But then, a working air condition would have been helpful. The most problematic thing was, that we needed to pay about 12 Euros city tax, allthough we thought, that it was included to the price that we paid by credit card. On the website of booking.com another total price was shown, than on the bill at the hotel. I am still a little confused, whether we paid the city tax twice. Furthermore when we checked in, we needed to pay 100 Euros bail which is quite unusual. And when we checked out, we had no choice, whether we wanted to pay the city tax, because they discounted the city tax from the bail. We are still waiting for an information, whether we paid it twice or not. It was a bit annoying.

The location was excellent and right in the city centre. You could walk to the main train station in 15 to 20 mins. Staff were very helpful and courteous and tried to help in every way they could. There was only I lift in the hotel making movement difficult at peak periods. Also there was no cooling system installed in the rooms and it could get very hot at times. Also the hallways were not very clean but the rooms were kept spotlessly clean.
