All good apart from the comments below. A clean, modern and relaxing place, staff very friendly and helpful. On our second night we were upgraded to a suite to apologise for booking problem so this was welcome. The booking admittedly by staff at the hotel was placed on the wrong dates, we had to be relocated to another hotel on the first night of our stay which was an inconvenience. However alternative accommodation was given without delay and was only a few minutes walk away in which the hotel assisted with. That said it was a hassle we could do without as it affected our routine when changing back to the original hotel again.

Location, they upgraded one of our rooms, staff was friendly and helpful. In one room it was quiet noisy and its bathroom was a bit outdated for this kind of hotel we thought. Also breakfast was not cheap but we have not tried. WiFi absolutely overpriced.

The location and the decor. I was very disappointed in the Albus Hotel. They did not address my concerns until the day before I left Amsterdam and I found the hotel staff not helpful at all. I will never stay at the Albus again.

The location is fantastic. Our original room was not as we expected and the staff worked diligently to upgrade us to a suite in which we were very satisfied. The moment you walk into the lobby of the hotel, there is a distinct odor that to me is unpleasant to the point where I would hold my breath until I reached the elevators. I couldn't figure out where it came from but it was definitely offensive.

It's unusual to be pleasantly surprised by a hotel when travelling on a business budget, but the Albus is the right price (€100 - €120 per night). The staff obviously enjoy their work, which is wonderful to see, and means that even hiccups in service are no problem - manners and a sense of humour are always more important than starchy discipline. My one critisism is that breakfast is too expensive. €14.25 (with a discount!) for a buffet is steep.

The only 2 things I liked: the coffee machine and the bathrobe. Extremely noisy hotel. My room was on the street side, 1st floor and I couldn't sleep all night because of the traffic noise. On top of that, the rooms are poorly insulated indoor too - you can hear even your neighbours. I wasn't impressed at all with the quality of the room which I found boring and poorly layed out. The facilities and bath products in the bathroom looked like in a 2* hotel. All in all I was very disappointed and wanted to leave after the first night, but the hotel staff claimed that I need to give 24h notice - which I find pretty disgusting taking into consideration that I couldn't sleep because of the noise, so I couldn't have given the 24h notice before spending the night there. Right? After my complains no compensation or reduction of the price (which, by the way was 149€ !!!!!!) was offered by the staff. On top of this, they charge 19€ for breakfast which I find ridiculously expensive. I will never again stay in this hotel and it's important that other travellers are aware.

The Hotel location to centre is quite good (reasonable walking distance from everything) and this hotel really made a lot of effort in the little things to make you feel welcome, ie nice bottle of proseco for a welcome drink. Hotel staff were also really nice, friendly and always willing to help. Everything else about the hotel was rather standard and there were some facilities you would expect a 4* facility to provide or have, which cost extra or simply was not available (for eg, internet service). Also the price was a little too much for the service/product we got. It was unfortunate for us that the particular weekend we were traveling in was uber expensive, but overall the average prices were a little too much for the standard of hotel we got.

The location is good, in city centre, near public transport, within walking distance of musea. Breakfast was good with nice staff that attended. I had a room in the basement, opposite the staffroom. At 7 am, people where talking loud with open door. No thought about guests being near. When I told the reception desk, they looked at me as if they knew the problem. My tip would be not to accept a room in the basement.

Very central location within walking distance of all the major sights. Very comfortable beds and a good sized bathroom with shower and bath. Coffee machine in the room was very welcome. The room had stylish lighting but it was not really adequate for reading and you had to get out of bed to turn off the overhead light. We were on the 6th floor which was very hot but there was a fan provided.

I stayed in the hotel for 1 week, and i liked the location, the room design is nice but small. They made me pay 200 euros just because i smoked 1 time in the room,i tried to reduce the amount but i couldnt and at the end i paid the 200 euros which was extremely high. rooms are so small and so noisy, you can hear people talkinf outside of your room or in rooms next to you, walls are so thin.

Location is good. I have stayed underground floor, which was so noisy because of thin structure of walls. Finally, I have changed hotel to others.

A nice property, well decorated and clean. We have two children, desired a family room (not two separate rooms), and needed a location close to restaurants and sites. We also wanted to avoid staying near the Red Light District. The Albus met our needs. Our only regret, and it's probably inappropiate for a city hotel, is that there wasn't a pool.

It was in a perfect position for the canals, the Pride Parade, shopping centre, station and only 10 min drive to Schipol Airport. The rail station was easy to walk or tram to.
