Location is ok, about 10 minutes walk into the center. Good restaurants and shops nearby aswell as the large Albert Cyup Market. Bedroom is poor standart, it needs to be cleaned, painted, there are cables running through floor, steps to room are real narrow and steep so don't take suitcase or kids. Shared kitchen was beyond dirty, I had to wash all the utensiles before using (and after). Microwave oven looked like it had so much dirt in it it would blow up if I turned it on. Shared toilet always smelt and shared shower is so small that I ended up getting dried after shower in kitchen (all same room on 4th floor!). Out room had a comfy double bed, windows onto street, 2 cupboard doors that were full of cables, dirt and rubbish, a hanging yellow piece of material that hid an ugly wall, a tv, an ironing board with no cover, etc

The bathroom was really dirty and the smell was horrible. I think that they never cleaned it during the 5 days that we stayed there!!

I stayed at the Amsterdam Apartments(Da Costastraat 78, corner Kinkerstraat) for 3 nights with other 4 of my friends as we had a bachelor escape. The apartment was big enough to accommodate the 5 of us, had a small kitchen and also a small terrace where we could smoke. There were 2 bathrooms and one separate shower. It was clean, the bed sheets were ok and the overall feeling was warm and nice. I was afraid that we will get into a dirty hole where others before us messed up but I can say it was quite the opposite - a very nice apartment to be together with your friends. It is close to Leidse Plein which is a nice area with terraces and clubs, but a little far to walk (approx 20-30min) from the red-light district. It was a little far to walk from the center(red-light district) - approx 30 min. The price was a little bit too high - 700 eur for 3 nights including taxes and the price for an extra bed.

Room was good enough prednazanacheny for two couples. Two separate bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen and balcony. Additionally, each room has a sink. The room is located at another location. Be prepared for additional transfer. Old towels. Non-refundable deposit per room is 100 euros, if the room is not clean.

We stayed in this apartment for fifteen minutes and were charged 129 euros for the pleasure. The apartment was disgusting, indeed the reception was a terrible mess. The manager was an overbearing, threatening bully who argued with us when we complained about the so called facilities. We left without ever unpacking with the manager shouting at us as we walked away. This place shouldd be closed down and the owners reported to the police. Don,t stay here!

I have been around europe in many apartments, this one has nothing special. 100€ cash deposit to give on arrival. Smelly bathroom. Personnel enter the apartment without knocking and make sure the customer privacy. And moreover you are treated as a dirty and not clean the apartment.

Alexander is a very good host, he is really hepful. We stayed in 2 different rooms during our 4 night stay. (We stayed in a studio flat). Some of the furniture in the first studio could be renewed yet the second one was already renewed and comfortable. We had a small jakuzi for ourselves in the second flat! The location is perfect, the staff is helpful. I would recommend Alexander's to travelers, who would like an economical stay in Amsterdam. Please note that the the price is reasonable therefore expect the luxury to be accordingly. The couch in the first room (8b, 3rd floor) could have been cleaner (A clean cloth could be placed on the couch and it could be changed often, if it is not possible to get a new one)

Alexander was really nice with us from the first day until our departure. He explained us all the important places to visit and provide us a useful map. The apartment is very confortable and the decoration is great. Thank you, Alexander! If we come back to Amsterdam we will book again your apartment for sure. Take care.

It is an apartment hotel with Kitchen. The owner was very nice, considerate and helpful. Good value for money, but not so much for comfort. Bath & toliets were shared and due to small space and not so clean & smeely toilets, it was a bit inconvinient. Also we were put up in 2nd floor and the small, narrow, winding and steep flight of stairs made it quite difficult to climb with luggages. Something to improve

Location was not bad near to a tram stop. Staff were polite and helpfull. The rooms were not clean enough, smelly and has old amentities, we had to change the appartment with no reason explained, the new apartment was too awfukl to sat very small dirty toilete and bath, we could not used them and left early to better place. Not recommended at all. Find put different hotels or apartments with cheaper price and better accomodation.

I guess the shower and bath tub were good. The manager's statement to me was that these apartments are "clean enough to be safe and dirty enough to be happy." I don't live in a world where dirt = happiness. The apartment was also cluttered with a lot of things that didn't work. The fan blades and cage had detached from the base. I had to fix it. Based on the ease of trolly use in Amsterdam, find somewhere else to stay.

The staff were great, location central and Was able to stay in the apartment with our medium size dog Met all our expectations ... plus extras including the use of a share kitchen, washing machine and dryer ... that was well appreciated. The stairs up to the apartment were steep+++, but the staff helped with the luggage so was not a problem.

The room was really large and cozy. We had our own kitchen and bath room. The kitchen has almost all of kitchen utensils, it is good for travelers who want to prepare their food by their selves.

-Alexander, the owner, was very helpful and welcoming. -The location on Gerard Doustraat was convenient, being a short bike or tram ride from the center and right next to the Albert Cuypmarket as well as the Museumplein, and lots of shops and restaurants, cafes and coffee shops. - very typical old Amsterdam building, which is nice to experience. -The studio was nicely sized -The studio room I had was not very clean. Previous people's hair in the bathroom...eew. -The hot water did not work!! -The mattress was like a rock.

The Amsterdam Alexander Apartments were great! We had 6 in our travel party and our apartment was a perfect fit for us. It had bathroom, kitchenette and 3 rooms. We were comfortable and safe in the great neighborhood. It was close to everything, especially Museum's. We would highly reccommend this Apartment! Stairs are small - be careful with your luggage :)

Alexanders appartment was clean, nice and of good value. The location is central enough to walk into the city but nice and quiet. Alexander is the best hotel owner I have ever met and I have spent most of my adult life travelling. I can not recommend alexanders apartments enough, I have stayed all over amsterdam and europe, this was by far the best place I have been to.i would be happy to live there full time. Brilliant. I have no negative comments to make :)
