Score from 326 reviews Good
Great location as it was close to our friends house
On fourth floor and found it very difficult to climb the stairs
Fantastic location Excellent value for money Very friendly Staff Very accommodating
location Breakfast is good
One of the staffs was very impatient and unhelpful, even tried to make more troubles for the customers on purpose, and sometimes pretend not hearing what his customers' requests. Other staffs are good. shower had problem, no hot water The stair is too steep, no elevator Wifi does not work well.
Friendly staff Great location with a tram stop opposite hotel Bed comfortable Good breakfast Very clean
small twin room very small but manageable. If noise don't let you sleep do not choose room on main road
Great staff and excellent location
The hotel is close to any attraction in Amsterdam. The breakfast was good and rich.
The noise was unbearable even with the earplugs provided by staff. Because our room was facing the street and the tram station, we had the worst nights ever. Along with the terrible noise, the coldness did not do any better. The windows are old and the heater cannot face the low temperaturs so the room gets extremly cold during winter. We had to sleep with our sweaters and beanies on. Worst experience ever.
Booked this hotel as an additional night on a North Sea Ferries mini cruise from Hull. It's not worth coming for the day as you will only get about 6 hours in the city. Purchase a 24 or 48 hour tram/bus/metro pass at the information office at Central Station and take the No.13 tram direct to the hotel. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly and provided a complimentary drink and free map whilst informing you of the must see sights. Our room was on the top floor at the rear of the hotel with a balcony overlooking the garden. The stairs are very steep and would not be suitable for anyone with mobility issues. The beds were very comfortable, there was a fridge and tea/coffee making facilities and a wonderful Jacuzzi bath. The location was great and within easy walking distance of Dam Square and all city centre attractions. Highly recommended.
Great, friendly staff. Excelent location. Free amazing coffee.
Two single beds pushed together instead of a double bed. Not ideal traveling as a couple. Noise from trams early in the morning (although ear plugs were provided)
My sister and me were visiting her daughter and her grandson, my niece and great nephew, and were very pleased to find a hotel within 10 minutes walking distance of her. It will be definitely a hotel for my husband and me to stay at for future visits.
The pillows were, for me, a bit hard but not too uncomfortable. The passing trams were a bit noisy but after a while we got use to it. It was appreciated that the staff recognised this and offered us ear plugs. The baths were a bit high for getting in and out of and this would be a bit of a problem for my husband so a room with just a shower would be very acceptable when we visit again in 2015. None of this would deter us from staying and recommending your very clean and friendly hotel in the future.
The staff were fantastic .. So helpful and generous with their time . The breakfast was excellent and the room has everything one needs, was comfortable and very clean. I would definately stay there again .
As we did last time, this time we again stayed in Alp Hotel. The staff is so friendly and helpful that you feel like yourself at home. the hotel is well located (on De Claarstraat), has tram station just across the hotel and you can easily reach to the attraction areas of the city. They are serving coffee, hot drinks ,fruits ,a bottle of water free and a little chocolate as free and this generous approach and hospitality is really impressive. Some rooms have nice balconies and hotel has very nice&green backyard for getting rest. Many thanks to lovely Alp Hotel staff and Turkish owners. It is like 2nd home in Amsterdam.
The only negative side is that there is no lift in the hotel and the stairs are narrow (like in many hotels in Amsterdam). If you can not climb, you must mention when you are booking and they can arrange your place accordingly.
We had a great stay at Alp Hotel in a small room on the fourth floor. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We checked in early and went away for a walk and by the time we returned they had brought all our luggage up to the room for us. Every day they put an apple and a small chocolate on our beds. The famous "tram noise" was absolutely bearable. Breakfast is very complete (and included in the price of the room) and the day we left (at 5.30am!) they even arranged an early breakfast for us and called us a cab. If I ever return to Amsterdam I would surely check in again at Alp.
The staff very helpful and cheerful. Also the hotel is very close to the city center so you can walk in 15 min. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. And the breakfast was good. I can really recomended to my friends who want to go Amsterdam. See you next time friends...
Breakfast and location. Many restaurants and cafes.
There is no elevator, but the hotel staff carried our heavy suitcases up to the fourth floor.
I have recently had a short stay at Hotel Alp in Amsterdam - well situated, nice staff, very clean and confortable. I heartily recommend it to those who want to visit Amsterdam, but hurry up, because the rooms are quickly booked!
The street was a bit noisy during the night, but hey, that's Amsterdam. And the staircase is steep but luckily I was on the first floor. The hotel doesn't have an elevator either.
Everything was fine! People are very nice and helpful! The location is great.
Apart from the fact that we found every day the same apple on our pillow, that the coffee does not taste good and that the hotel has no elevator, we were actually pretty happy with the ALP hotel.
One thing , however, has completely spoiled our holidays : a terrible smell of cat pee in our room. After two days the reception finally tried to remove it with WC air freshener , which made it even worse. Luckily we had a balcony! To compensate for the inconvenience , the management offered us after several reminders from our part, 10% on your next visit . Thank you very much but we will not come back!
Coffee, tea and fruit for guests free of charge - great idea, make a hotel a home place.
You can hear the neighbors in the next room cough, listen to the tv, take a shower and .....; street noises also do not allow to sleep.
The staff were helpful and friendly!! The room was clean and comfortable.
The stairs , no Lift having to carry 30kg suitcase down was like a death trap!!!!
These is a tram stop right in front of this hotel. It is just 10 min tram journey from Central Station. The staff are friendly and helpful. One of the lady staff provide us with map and explain to us in detail how to travel around in Amsterdam. The breakfast is good . We enjoyed our stay at Alp Hotel. We will be back.
Very nice staff and very good breakfast.
Really nice hotel close to the Dam square and to Leidseplein too. We were welcomed warmly, made a coffee and explained about Amsterdam, providing us with a map. The staff is helpful and really friendly. Breakfast was continental with plenty of choice, it was really nice. We would definitely recommend this hotel as excellent value for money and as a lovely place to stay in Amsterdam.
Great hotel with a great staff. Easy walking distance to all you want to see and the breakfasts were a great way to start your day!
