Location near Central Station was convenient. Easy walking distance from good bars and restaurants. Beautiful historic building with high ceilings and remodeled bathrooms. Very quiet and calm interior. Mini bar included in the deluxe room rate. Near the Red Light district if that bothers you. Lots of traffic near the hotel due to busy location. No parking available at all.

Mike is a very nice and helpful owner manning the reception. Free internet and Breakfast and in room safe, Excellent and romantic location at square built in middle ages. Bus 300 arrives in 40 min from Schiphol.frequency every 10 minutes. Flat panel TV on bus and at bus stop shows stop and connections. Bus runs 24hrs.Cost 4Euros. Haarlem has 4 train per hour to Amsterdam and trains go 4 x / hr. Next time I stay in Haarlem and visit Amsterdam from there. Frans Hals Museum is fantastic too. Old building.noisy rooms specially Saturday nights on the market side. But stiil very good value.

The hotel was lovely and relaxing. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The hotel was very easy to find and also is on the the door step of the Haarlem square. There are many restaurants to select from around the area from steak houses to kebab houses.

The location on Grote Markt in Haarlem is superb. The decor is lovely and welcoming, a sort of Moroccan/Thai fusion. Our room had enough electrical outlets and extensions to run both our laptops and make hot water for the chocolate and cappuchino provided at the same time. Also it was very quiet. Breakfast had all the essentials and a good selection of black, green and herbal teas. Very friendly service. The restaurant downstairs should get at least three stars for delicious food and good service. They have both traditional comfort food and creative fusion dishes that are expertly made. The Amadeus is an excellent value for the money. The building is old, and the stairs steep and winding. The lift goes from the ground floor only when the restaurant is open. The beds were a bit soft and the plumbing a bit delicate, but everything worked well enough. Just don't expect up-to-date perfection!

Although the hotel is not looking very inviting from the outside, it is a extremely pleasant atmosphere and the staff are very, indeed very, friendly and good. I will most certainly use the hotel again. Right in the middle of the nicest town in Holland, shops, restaurants are plentifull The weather was extremely cold, minus 20 centigrade during the night with heavy snow, but you can hardly blame the hotel for that, they were very accommodating in providing warm rooms and extra duvets if needed.

Very basic but it was all I wanted. Good location and nice price! There was a laud music coming from somewhere on Saturday night. Tea and coffee was available but I wish there were non-caffeine drink.

The location was great & the breakfast buffet was very nice. The owner (?) was very friendly. I didnt like our room. It was dark, had no view & had musty smell to it. Seemed run down.

Excellent location right on Haarlem's main square. Wonderful breakfast room, large windows overlooking the square. 1) no lift (and steep stairs) up to hotel reception on first floor (tough with heavy bags); 2) staff not particularly friendly; 3) although clean and reasonably comfortable, rooms are small and not well furnished
