Nov. 24 - the room was cold, I could not get the heat up; also, the bathroom ridiculously small. Good thing I was alone in the room. Nov. 29 - the showerhead did not work properly. |

The location could not be better and the hotel provided excellent directions on getting there from the airport. Great friendly staff, great breakfast We managed ok, but the stairs up from the street are very narrow and steep, especialy in the annex where several of the rooms are located. |

It was very central to the shops, museums, restaurants, bus and train services. It was close to the Anton Mauve exhibition which was the purpose of our trip. |

It is located just at the Grote Markt. Great location! Don't expect to reach the hotel in your car. Parking garage is just 5 blocks away. |

the hotel was in the middle of haarlem centre. it was easy to cycle to bloemendaal beach from the city centre.the hotel staff were friendly and helpful. i thought the room was too small for a double, the bathroom facilities were very basic and it was more of a cupboard than a bathroom. |

The position and view from the hotels breakfast-room. Wonderful to hear the bells of Harlem. The sheets and towels were clean the curtains were nice and there were two small arm charis in the room . The staff helped with luggage. The fire alarms seem to be recently fitted and reassuringly complying with current standards. The restaurant "Ludig" (not part of the hotel) but conveniently placed downstairs serves genuinely delicious wonderful food . The room was pathetic. Not even in my student days have I occupied such poor accommodation. The décor amateurish, corridors unpainted , emergency exit cluttered with stuff. Bathroom so small we could not turn round , little privacy behind a very flimsy folding door. Lighting impossible for reading.Breakfast very poor, the cheapest available. Whilst pulling new supplies out of boxes, staff serving breakfast constantly talking on mobile phones. The service extremely sloppy, lacking consideration. Busy getting out of there, the staff was cleaning while we had breakfast. Not a good experience. Given the standard we can expect from an ordinary German Gasthouse or a humble English 2 Star Hotel, this was very dissapointing |

It is right on the market square and only 15 minutes to Amsterdam Central station by train. Also, the #300 bus goes directly from Haarlem to Schiphol Airport. You could not be any more conveniently located in this wonderful city. The room we stayed in was small (ok) but the decor was shabby. It looked like it had not been redone since the 60s. Also, for those traveling in the summer, there was no air conditioning in our room (they did provide a fan, however). The room rate in that location is fair and our philosophy is to spend our funds on the trip, not the place where we sleep. |

Central position in old townhouse in Haarlem. Good breakfasts in attractive dining room overlooking main square. We had asked for quiet room as we thought a front room might be noisy, and this request was honoured. Not enough storage space in our (attic) room. The bedside lighting was poor, and the ensuite facilities rather cramped. |

Good location in the heart of Haarlem. Lots of steps up to reception. Room facilities lacking i.e light bulbs not replaced, sink plug missing, promised T & coffee not available. |

Situated in the heart of Haarlem, overlooking the historic Grote markt, the hotel is cdjacent to the main shopping street and within easy walking distance of a multitude of streets containing fascinating old-style architecture. Also, just 12 minutes walk from the rail/bus station. |

Great value for money , very good location , pleasant staff and very nice breakfast included in the good value for money price My room at the back was fine but I'd imagine that rooms at front over looking the square could be quite noisy as square is hub of the towns cafe / social scene. |

Standard of cleanliness was very high and hotel staff all spoke English Rooms are basic, for example no tea/coffee facility. Also no car park - this was clear on the information supplied on website but we had not expected Dutch car park fees to be so different from UK (cost about 30 euros for 24 hours) |
