Great location. Easy to find. I stayed here, spending one day in Haarlem and took the train to Amsterdam to explore. Very simple. Good breakfast. No complaints.

Excellent view of the Grote Markt from our room at the front of the hotel. Free internet access and Wi Fi a bonus. Traditional Dutch dining room overlooking the square. Good buffet breakfast. Indifferent staff. So-called lounge was the breakfast room.

Although the hotel is not looking very inviting from the outside, it is a extremely pleasant atmosphere and the staff are very, indeed very, friendly and good. I will most certainly use the hotel again. Right in the middle of the nicest town in Holland, shops, restaurants are plentifull The weather was extremely cold, minus 20 centigrade during the night with heavy snow, but you can hardly blame the hotel for that, they were very accommodating in providing warm rooms and extra duvets if needed.

Breakfast with the great view. Church bells, playing nice tunes. Nice and friendly and helpful staff. The single room was simple but cute, with all necessary things (incl. Coffee-tea maker). Excellent location: everything nearby - bus to the Schipol airport, train to the beach (fantastic Zandvoort aan Zee), not to speak about all the caffees, restaurants, museums and churches. It was a good idea to skip Amsterdam this time and enjoy Harlem. I was lucky to attend the opening of the Art festival, and I'm sure there is always something going on here - this small historical town has a very lively culture life. Coming back for sure and would like to stay in the Amadeus Hotel again. Strange Internet - but it was free :)

Very basic but it was all I wanted. Good location and nice price! There was a laud music coming from somewhere on Saturday night. Tea and coffee was available but I wish there were non-caffeine drink.

Ideal city centre location The hotel is in urgent need of modernisation and a full refurbishment. I don't think the owner really understands the hotel business!

The location was great & the breakfast buffet was very nice. The owner (?) was very friendly. I didnt like our room. It was dark, had no view & had musty smell to it. Seemed run down.

Excellent location right on Haarlem's main square. Wonderful breakfast room, large windows overlooking the square. 1) no lift (and steep stairs) up to hotel reception on first floor (tough with heavy bags); 2) staff not particularly friendly; 3) although clean and reasonably comfortable, rooms are small and not well furnished

Great location with access to trains, in a quaint old village. Simple, yet sufficient rooms with nice staff, good breakfast and privacy. The Wifi connection had to be renewed each day and often did not even last for 24 hours. This was inconvenient as well as a nuisance. When the owner was present he was quite loud in the main dining area making it hard to enjoy the company of self and other. He was less hospitable than his wife and the other main desk help. He might be best leaving that up to the women!

Overall was Good. Hospitality: Good, Breakfast: Good, Location: Good. Location is just a little bit far from Station but there are many restaurants and shops around there. Owner was kind and room was clearn. One different thing as Hotel information was Wi-Fi Internet requires fee.

There was no elevator from street level to the first floor reception. However, as we were leaving, the staff, very kindly, allowed us to take the elevator down to the bar on the ground floor just as it was opening. We appreciated not having to lug heavy bags down those stairs. The location was fantastic, right on Grote Markt and breakfast on the first floor gave a view of the town going about its every day business as usual. Not having stairs from ground level was a problem as my daughter who was travelling with me had a problem with her knee for the last few days of our trip.

The location of the Amadeus is perfect if shopping's your thing. It's central and very close to the train station too. My single room was tiny, with a dreadful shower, but otherwise ok. If I'd been staying any longer than one night, I'd probably have been pretty dissatisfied with the standard but for an overnight stay, I couldn't really complain. The staff were helpful in an offhand kind of way. You could tell they wouldn't particularly go out of their way to do something for you, but if you asked for something, you got a kind of answer. Internet connection was fast and login was very easy, something quite important to me. All in all, the best I can say, is the Amadeus was ok. I'd stay here again for a night or two, but no longer. Didn't particularly dislike anything.
