Ideal location. Interior affirms the spatial constraints of 17th century canal house architecture and at the same time transformed into a "galerie d'art ".
Fantastic staff, flexible, quick and client oriented, all at the prime spot in Amsterdam! We'll be back!
Stayed for two nights.. Location is excellent and staff wre extremely helpful
I stayed at this hotel with my boyfriend and I should say everything was even better than we expected. The location was really good: the hotel is located very close to all the main attractions, but the neighborhood itself is quiet, no disturbing noise at night. The hotel – just beautiful, our room was nicely decorated, spacious, clean, equipped with everything we might need. The staff was extremely polite and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay there one more time.
During our stay in November there was some renovation in progress, but I can't say it was annoying in any way.
Many years ago I used to work very close to this hotel and it was the hotel which our organisation used for our visiting guests. A few weeks ago I stayed at this hotel with my daughter. Our room, which overlooked the canal, was excellent and the beds were extremely comfortable. Breakfast was also very good indeed. The staff could not have been more helpful. I would certainly recommend this hotel.
room decor, location, room service, friendly staffs
tiny stairs to get up to room once out of elevator
The attentiveness of the staff and their capacity to make life of guests as comfortable as possible.
I cannot think of any negative qualities
every thing was great specially the staff
Hospitality of the staff. Exeptionally clean room and bathroom. Very good location. Beautiful view to canal!!!
Booking said view of canal. Week with x ray vision it would have been. Only view was of surrounding tiles from roofs.
The position is perfect: close to the main square and right next to a beautiful canal. The staff is super kind and helpful. Another positive point is the comfort of the bed. We suggest this place to everyone who wants to have a peaceful and pleasant stay.
A nice hôtel in a nice spot. Location is great close to everything. ... the staff is awesome very very helpful ppl at the front desk a thumbs up to them. Cozy and comfy rooms. Would go there if I have to.
1- a bit pricey for a 4 star. 2 - a very weak breakfast buffet they can do much better especially for the 17€ per person. Lacking a lot of ingredients. 3 - the work in progress. Although I was previously informed but was very disappointed when they put just above the room being renovated. The renovation is temporary but the price and breakfast they should work on Def.
The location of the hotel is ideal. The staff is very friendly and useful.
The design of the hotel is weird, the little things like hair dryer and hangers need to be updated. The bed is way too soft.
The decor of the hotel is exceptional. Tasteful, stylish and with lots of personality. The room was beautifully furnished and the bathroom was one of the best I've had in any hotel. I had a lovely view over the canal from my room. The staff were friendly, helpful and professional. The location is excellent quiet and away from the crowds but easy walking distance from the main attractions. Excellent breakfast. Great hotel and I intend to return.
Only criticism is the renovation work in part of the hotel. This was not too intrusive though,
Staff and location were excellent . Helped us with everything we needed always and whenever we called they helped us and told us where to go for tourism and printed documents for us .
There was a renovation during our stay and sometimes the noise was annoying however they were only working in the morning not at night. Also numerous walkways and pathways and lefts and rights after the elevator to reach rooms which was a little confusing thats all. Would have liked to have a tea coffee machine or at least a water boiler and some tea bags and coffee.
Bright outdoor lights out windows. Some construction. Didn't do breakfast. Too expensive
Easy access to everything! Breakfast buffet has awesome variety Friendly and helpful staff Charming and warm decor and environment
I loved the location , right in the heart of 9 streets along the canal , we walked everywhere . Found the most gorgeous restaurants , Bussia an amazing Italian and Cafe Gourge a really buzzing , fun bistro .we had lunch at the Conservatorium which was really memorable and worth a visit for the impressive architecture .
We were put into a room at the front of the hotel ,facing the canal and it was noisy at night with people coming in late , also the bed was so soft we found it not the most comfortable .when we mentioned this to the staff they were very sympathetic and so we moved to a quiet room at the back of the hotel , which worked much better , also had a firmer bed The heating was hard to regulate , either too hot or too cold . But over all because of the location it was a reasonable choice .
Location is a plus. Close to everything but still quiet at night. This hotel is a change from a tourist packed over crowded hotel.. it is a cozy boutique like hotel. Staff are polite and professional.
Renovation in progress.. a bit of inconvenient. The stairway is narrow, steep(nature of the building) and confusing so remember where yr room is and the best route to go and out of the hotel.. could be dangerous if fire occur.
-Staff was warm and welcoming and very helpful -stayed in orange room and it was very nice with canal view -I requested several items not in the room and it was brought up to me within minutes (different front office staff, all very helpful) -tried to call home collect but could not figure it out, they initially tried to look up on Internet for me, and found me a number to call. But before I could try it, she called first and discovered it didn't work. She called me back immediately to advise that it didn't work and said she would do some additional research to find the correct number. Although we never found the information, I greatly appreciated the assistance. She did this all within 10 min. -Finally I thought I had forgotten my journal at hotel, when I emailed them, I received a reply right away saying they would look. They went to look all over, but couldn't find it and then I discovered it in my bag and advised them apologetically. She was just happy I located my item. I have been in the travel and hospitality business for over 30 years and wherever I stay, I appreciate 2 main things...good customer service and cleanliness. ..at this hotel, they excelled in both. Thank you for a lovely stay!
-I found out during my stay there was a special library at the hotel, sadly due to renovations it wasn't available
Very good tips for dining out, beautiful and spacious room
A bit coldish under the roofs and a few stairs afetr the elevator - but the charm of an old building!
Wonderfully renovated 17th century building. I had an amazing attic room with lots of windows. I love the heated tile bathroom floor, and the deep bath ... lots of space. The breakfast was pricey, but excellent. A favorite hotel.
I travel a great deal, and I think this is my #1 favorite. Nothing to complain about.
Good location, Excellent Staff, Comfy Bed, Beautiful room, Good breakfast
Not a complaint, but people should know if you have mobility issues, please inform the hotel before your stay so you don't have to climb stairs. (The fantastic staff should be able to help.)
