View of Canal -- upper floor rooms! Mini bar well stocked. Convenient to square and Anne Frank House. Good service/advice.
Stairs down to lobby. Weird lobby. Cramped.
Everything and especially the outlook to the canal.
Library being remodeled so no access to the book collection. And one other thing... I feel.there should be a solid handrail coming down the steps from the street. I wonder if I am the only one who has mentioned this. (I'm 87)
charming, helpful staff.
Noisy late night party nearby which was not the fault of the hotel!
Location Feel and atmosphere Didn't feel like a corporate hotel Intimacy Quality
Location a little noisey with people walking home late at night
The hotel staff were fantastic and the location you could not fault.
Unfortunately the hotel is being partially renovated at the moment, which will be amazing when it's completed in the spring, but it meant there was no hotel lounge/bar area and our televisions in our room wasn't working. We did mention it to the hotel and there was no suggestion of a free breakfast on the house to compensate. After all we had paid for a finished hotel, not a half shut down one!!
The staff couldn't have been more helpful and informative. Our room was very clean and cozy; the space was tight, but we managed.
Having the bathroom downstairs with no nightlight was a little precarious.
Very friendly staff who went out of their way to help us with our difficulties
good value for money as last minute deal
breakfast too expensive
i like the hotel, services and location, very nice.
Lovely clean comfortable room and very pleasant staff. Complimentary water and good wifi.
No bar or restaurant area. Having to go out of hotel to get breakfast. No iron in room - had to go into utility downstairs to iron some clothes.
Very Comfortable Room/Bed. Lovely view. Staff all very pleasant and helpfull. Good Location.
All experience was perfect. We do recommend!
Good location Friendly and helpful staff
You can hear noise from the street.
My PINK room and the very helpful and kind employees
The rooms are small but very nice
Not a thing
Lovely atmosphere in boutique size. Small quaint but great service
Lovely hotel perfectly located for seeing the city. Rooms are spread across several town houses so all different. Staff were excellent; friendly and helpful.
Some refurbishment going on now (Oct 14) so some common areas on ground floor and lift access are limited. Not really a problem.
The location is ideal for visiting the city. The hotel is stylishly decorated and we appreciated the many pieces of art-work on display. The room was very comfortable with a delightful canal view. Above all the staff were very helpful and courteous.
View of canal from upper room! We sat in our room, watched the boat/bike traffic and cracked a bottle of wine to unwind after a harried trip there. Staff was very attentive and accommodating. Great showers with temp and spray controls. Free water/fruit/candy. Nicely stocked minibar if needed. EASY access to shops/Anne Frank House/Dam Square. Great pubs and restaurant options all around.
Steep steps (down) to lobby -- locked at night/have to buzz in. Long winding walk to rooms. Stairs up were steep. We were OK, but with luggage it was tougher. Less agile should be aware -- or make sure elevators work
The location and decoration were exceptional, one gained a real experience of Amsterdam canal side living
It was unfortunate that the restaurant was not available due to refurbishment thus limiting the enjoyment of the hotel. This should have been made clear prior to booking not revealed as part of the acknowledgment
Location Room size and amenities Staff was excellent
Small dining room and no dinner offered Beds were a bit too soft
Beautiful tree lined quiet streets on herengracht canal. Staff very helpful and provided good umbrellas for the rain. They also sell tickets to the museums so there's no wait.
Room very very small with queen bed pushed against wall so one of us had to slide out at the bottom. But we had a good rate so it was worth it.
The hotel's location was excellent.
Only way to access our room was a very small staircase. We were literally in the attic.
The location was very central, but the street was quiet. Walking distance to just about every attraction. Rooms were comfortable. Liked the feel of the place, which was more unique and cozier than a large hotel.
A bit on the pricey side. The buffet breakfast was just a bit high so we went outside every day and found lots of good places nearby at a fraction of the price.
