“ Location is fantastic ! Hotel is charming and has interesting history and lots of character. Not like the usual steril hotel chains. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Can't think of anything we didn't like. Have stayed there before and will always stay there when in amsterdam. ”

Central location Great dining room and terrace Good security Historic building Clean Easy to get to by bus/tram - recommend bus #197 from Schipol Very difficult to use bathtub due to height. Not "senior friendly" design (ingress/egress/handicap) etc Breakfast was extremely expensive

Location good. Dark rooms with wall-to-wall carpets, no heating on when checking in. Wifi only for 1 login/room, cannot use it on multiple phones/pads etc. Breakfast expensive. Be aware of additional city tax that will be added to your bill when checking out.

The Art Deco restaurant/cafe/bar was exceptionally pleasant to sit and relax in. From the river boat it looks very impressive. The staff are very good. Only minor details that I will not go into here.

Sorry nothing positive, stay away till renovations are finished! Property under renovation. Was woken up by a tradesman installing new brick on the exterior. Tried to change rooms when saw scaffolding but staff was not helpful. When we checked out early they tried to charge us for the entire stay!

Comfortable bed. The breakfast was not that good and $62.00 for two people was excessive for a buffet.

The location is in walking distance to the most wonderful museums and a lovely neighborhood. This is a landmark hotel that promised history and great views. We had scaffolding out our window, which will be taken down at some point. The hotel was not busy - why where we not put in a room without the scaffolding outside? We were only there a night

Hotel in renovation and no mention of this when making reservation. Staff not taking on board complaints but refering to the manager .... who happens to be absent. The place was dusty, and smelling dust. Very dissapointted.

Overall it was a great location and a nice hotel, but way overpriced like all the others in the surrounding area. Our first hotel room was a closet on the backside and wasn't a standard room. Luckily the staff was able to provide us a normal room.

This is a beautiful and historic art deco hotel with lovely stained glass windows. There is a beautiful curving staircase. The mezzanine has a nice large table with 4 computers for the use of guests along with some charging stations for cell phones and electronics. Sunday brunch at the restaurant is a popular event with jazz and I was able to stay for that and it was great. The room is beautiful with a lovely view of the street. There is an area outside with tables and there is a fountain in front of the hotel that is quite nice There are many restaurants close by and the concierge recommended a great one. Short walk to the museums and Vondel park. Canal boat rides were available right next to the side entrance. Room had a balcony and the bed was very comfortable. There was a instant hot water carafe and tea and instant coffee available in the room. The bathroom was very nice and included a magnifying mirror. Like most European hotels the room was a little small. The elevators also are small and the lobby can get a little crowded when a large group is checking in or out. Both entrances had stairs so it was difficult to negoiate with a rolling bag, but the staff was quick to assist. I assume that means handicap access would be difficult. There was no ramp that I could see.

There was building work being done to the front of the hotel and it looked like a building site with scaffolding all over the front of it. It had a filthy rug at the entrance and the lobby was small and uninviting. We were disappointed with the service of a young female bar staff who obviously was trying to ignore us when we kept asking for a glass of water 4 times. No manners at all. We also were woken up an hour early for our room service breakfast in bed as they got the time wrong.

Generally a pleasant hotel to stay in - the decor was interesting with stained glass windows and framed old advertising posters. It was convenient for the trams and canal trips. Unfortunately, parts of the hotel were covered in scaffolding and screens - we knew this when we booked so it wasn't a surprise but one could not appreciate the splendour of the building.

Location bar Iniatal welcome poor and having stayed here several times before disappointing. I have recommended it to friends too so I hope this was a one off. I booked 2 rooms -one for me and one for my parents-a special treat for my parents birthdays-who are 75 and 77. I booked 2 rooms-one deluxe for them and asked if poss for a balcony and a normal. When checking in it seemed a surprise that I had requested this and had it confirmed. I was told the hotel was very busy and they were having work done! Also both televisions in both rooms were not working- When I queried this I was told it was a separate company! We had to chase this again before it was mended.

The staff of this hotel is absolutely terrible. We had a small problem and got no no compassion, empathy or any interest from the management. The shift manager Zakyr was particularly unkind and even obnoxious. I will never return to this hotel
