We received a very small room with no street view and windows at such a hight that you could merely look outside properly
Beautiful hotel and great location. Friendly and helpful staff - kindly upgraded our room as noted it was for my Husband's birthday. Breakfast was delicious in a lovely surrounding, although a little overpriced if you don't want to eat lots.
Pillows are too square and bouncy, had same issue in previous Hampshire stay where can't settle as feel like sleeping on a balloon! Room was very dimly lit, lamps and small spotlight only, no main room light.
Even though it was only a standard room it was really very spacious, which is quite rare for Amsterdam. I had a room on the 5th floor with a large balcony overlooking the canal and the view was amazing. The staff was always very nice and helpful, even the cleaning very nice guy was adorable, making sure I would get enough coffee and sugar, and the restaurant is really very beautiful. The wi- fi works also very well. I would definitely book and stay again. Besides, the location is central and ideal for visiting Amsterdam.
Everything about the hotel and the staff
Pillows are too soft to my taste, Although I didn't check if the hotel offered choices.
Location, location, location.
Great location, competitive price, clean room, canal view.
1. Standard internet was unreliable. There was a $20 upgrade but I think that is way overpriced. I thought free wifi was table stakes these days. 2. The floor squeaked in my room, I was glad I was on the top floor. The bed squeaked too.
Excellent location, at Leidseplein Excellent breakfast, Very kind crew.
A bit expensive.
Location + Size of rooms and comfort of beds are great
We had planned to get the laundry done there but the prices are so expensive for Laundry that we decided to go out to a laundromat.
We were up graded to a beautiful two floor junior suit the service was fantastic and the concierge booked dinner at a great restaurant. I would also recommend the hotel for food.
great room. perfect location. helpful staff and good breakfast.
The room was very spacious and clean, and the staff was very friendly. It was also very central to the museums and the canal tours.
The room was very dark. There were lamps but in general, there was not enough lighting in the room.
The staff were great. So was the tea making facility in the room, the bed comfort and the good sized bathroom.
The location and the atmosphere of the hotel was excellent
Location/Bed and room comfort
The sound of the squeaking wooden floor
Great location close to the canal boat station that gets you all over town. The tram link is just outside as well and the night life around the hotel is great as well.
If the wind is in the wrong direction you are right under (and I mean right under) the runway for Schipol, 1 plane every minute or so all day and all evening a couple of hundred metres or so above your bed. Glazing is good but not that good!!!!!!!!!!
Friendly and efficient staff especially Emma in the hotel restaurant. They simply couldn't do enough for you. Rooms clean and comfortable.
Loved the location and the staff was great.
Planes were really noisy.
De room was large, quiet and comfortable, the bathroom was a bit small though.Good breakfast.
De strange tasting saus with the meat and the same taste with the dessert. Nothing special was undertaken even though I had said a few times that it was my husbands birthday. When we stayed in Vienna 7 years ago he got a cake in a small wooden box and free coffee and a glas of champagne, so it was a disappointment that nothing was done in Amsterdam.
The location was excellent - easy to walk to shops, museums, restaurants etc . We did not need to use public transport at all during our week stay. Old but majestic hotel. Very friendly, helpful staff. Good sized room and bath.
Had problems with the heating - the room was quite cold in the evenings. The room was pretty dark - few lights- and as it was the middle of winter it got dark early - so difficult to read without light from a device.
Staff were excellent
Hated the huge pillows
The location was excellent, near museums and shopping districts and the centre all easily walked to. Also public transport with canal boats, trams and public shuttle bus to Schiphol all directly outside hotel.
excellent bed, nice room, quiet good service nice atmosphere
Location was just excellent, with easy access to trams (useful for getting to- and from the Centraal station. We got a free upgrade to a bigger room, at the top floor, with a balcony. True, it wasn't facing Leidseplein but it was great nonetheless. Friendly staff, too.
Normal prices were high, got a good deal through Booking.com Genius so the entire thing was cost-effective.
Beautiful, charming, romantic, clean hotel better then a bigger hotel friendly, helpful staff perfect hotel for our stay
