The location was good for shopping. The hotel was not like the pictures, there is building work going on and the place is a shambles. I was woke up at 7.45 by workman outside my window on scaffolding. The rooms were unfinished, no plug sockets where they should have been, no shower curtain in one of our rooms, window not fixed in properly. The noise from Irish Bar went on until 4 in the morning on the saturday night. |

Reconstruction works were carried out during the stay. Hotel corridors, rooms, and corridors were not dirty and full of building equipment. The rooms are small, unclean, with old and broken furniture. The fotos shown on the website and descriptions do not give the right impresson about the rooms and lead to the conclusion that the hotel is much better than it actually is. |

Clear, has everything you need for one night. If you're looking for a roof + bed + bath for a night, this can be your hotel. There is a nice bar beneath. Very good, but if you're tired and want to sleep, there is a big noise from there. |

Cheap. It cost me only 25 euro one night. It is located in the city center, very close from the train station. Room is very small. Even though it was non-smoking room I could still smell the Cigarette. TV remote contoler was broken. However I think it was still reasonable for the price. |

The room we booked at „Amrâth Hotel Max“ was advertised and sold as a 3 star hotel including breakfast - €63 plus City tax. In the description of the hotel nothing were mentioned of the following: • Everything was closed and deserted on our arrival at approx 16:00. No checking in possible. • Breakfast was served in the pub downstairs. It looked bored as if it had seen better days. Booking of our room in this hotel was based on the biggest con we have experienced till now. And we travel a lot. How this hotel can be advertised as 3 stars is beyond me. The hotel is definitely for young back packers only. However, we can under no circumstance recommend the place. |

The hotel is centrally located but really run down and needs renovation. The check-in is only in the Grand Hotel which means 500 meters walking back and forth, the room was stinking, totally run down, bathroom door did not work and had to stay open. The bbf in the Irish pub is basic, dirty and dark. After complaining about the smell in the room the housekeeping opened the windows!!! Never again and can not recommend it to anyone!! |

I enjoyed that the lady at the hotel grand allowed me to park my car there for the night. Also the location of the hotel was very nice and central in town. The shower was moldy and the window really needed to be worked on. Other than that, it was great. |

A cheap hotel in the middle of the center of Heerlen. We had to check in at an other hotel. So we had to walk 300 m with our luggage to an other hotel, not kowning where exactly, and then walk back again. Poor TV signal at the room |

The location of the hotel and price was good for me. Additionally TV programs with English language were also great for me. The TV desk is soo poor that is making the hotel's (furniture) class poor. No need to use a first class furniture but the metal TV table is really disgusting. |

I didn't stay but moved to the Amrath grand because the Max was terrible. The Grand was fine, the staff were very helpfull in the move. It was smelly, old and run down, which was a shame because the building is beautifull. |

The 4-star Amrâth Grand Hotel Heerlen is situated close to the city centre and the train station. Enjoy the lovely restaurant and sit out on the terrace. |
