Very nice location (right next to the large park and 1 block from a tram stop), bed was comfortable, room was fairly spacious for a european room. The breakfast was only ok, but adequate. It was a bit pricey for what you got out of it. The breakfast didn't have much fresh fruit. Overall the place was fine, but not a four star place... Probably 3 star, so it was a bit pricey for that.

The bed was excellent. Shower was perfect as well. Rooms very clean. Good value for money. Maybe thirty-five to forty-five minutes from city centre. Trams work till midnight if walking at night is not an option and public transport is very efficient therefore the distance is not an issue at all. Nearest tram stop is 2 minutes away by walk from the hotel and for anyone's info tram number 2 or 4 pass from the same stop and the stop is called Jacob Oberstraat (name of the road were the hotel is located). I give the breakfast a pass mark but considering that it is free I will not complain. Free maps at the reception and they are very informative considering that they are given free of charge. All in all I would choose this hotel again. Staff are not friendly. Towels are not changed daily so you have to use the same towel over and over again for your whole stay at this hotel. Bathroom is equipped with a heater so at least your towels will be dry when you are going to re-use them but still it will be best to have a fresh, clean towel. You cannot smoke in the rooms and if they catch you smoking you must pay a eur 100.00 fine.

The best: reception's care in selecting and booking a rijsttafel restaurant for us. The worst: yellow rubber masquerading as scrambled egg in the morning. Scrambled egg must be made freshly, otherwise it quickly turns to rubber.

Leaving the hotel I payed for a double room, and they gave me a single room, saying that they were sorry, but it was the only room they had left. But in my opinion the "hotel" was empty, so don't throw your money away.....stay in every other hotel. It say 4 star, I wouldn't give it a single one.

Location was quite yet very near a main tourist boat line, great way to travel to the centre, about 30 min ride and 10 min walk. Shops near by, but unlit walk in the dark down the back streets. Awful! Our double bed had two tiny singe sheets and duvets, the so called Full English breakfast was nothing more than toast and a selection of flakes. Scrambled eggs were put out at the start of breakfast but has we arrived down at 9.30 they were cold and old. Juice was ok though, but not fresh. It's s great hotel for overcharged pack-packers. Don't waste your money staying here. It should be two start, not four.

We liked the calm surroundings, the cleanliness of the room. We regret the smallness of the room. You have to get up early to have choice for breakfast.

Postion of the hotel. Good area and close to Amsterdam city center. Staff was not friendly. Booked 3 double bedrooms but one room was of a single size. Breakfast was poor. We were not always given new towels and even teared. Rooms were not cleaned properly.

Breakfast Internet connection was really bad, It was impossible to use it at all (and before my stay I asked several times if internet was working fine because I had to do some work and they told me there was no problem). They turned off the heating during the day! And amsterdam is very cold in winter so when I returned from the day trip the room was freezing. I told them once to stop turning the heating off but they kept doing it.. I don't get it.. Hotel staff was very unkind. This hotel should cost half the price they charge.

Very convenient location, quiet. Near tram stops (handy rai - From concertgebouw stop, take 12 to Victorieplein and change at same stop to 4). Breakfast included in price was basic but good. Room was cosy. Very comfy bed. Bathroom was good size, good shower (when water was hot), clean. Tissues and toiletries were of provided. Plenty of wardrobe space. WiFi was very handy. Good tourist information. Other reviewers did not recommend Omega, but as a 3 star hotel it is probably better than most in Amsterdam and value for money when there is a big event on and hotel prices are expensive. Lighting is low wattage - very environmentally friendly, but would not be adequate if you had to use the desk. No hot water one morning. When asked staff said there was a problem with the pump, but I suspect the water system is not adequate to cater for large numbers having showers at the same time. Next morning we made sure we had an early shower!

Hotel needs up dating and painting.Skeleton staff trying to do everything. Bar is drab which couples as dining area for breakfast. Photos of the hotel on the web site are bright and modern looking while the hotel is the opposite.Breakfast lacks variety. Individual members were kind and helpful but as I said very few staff trying to do everything.

It was great to have easy internet access with no trouble or interuption. My room was very clean and well organized. Breakfast was included. The price was extremely reasonable, all things considered. The neighborhood was a very nice neighborhood, but I was hoping for an area with more to offer in terms of places to eat, shop, etc.

Quiet location. Convenient to museum attractions and close to transit. Breakfast was a convenient bonus with the basic items offered. Lovely to listen to church bells during the day. Many of the doors to individual rooms will only close if pulled forcefully, causing a loud bang. Hearing the hourly chimes during the night. Arrived just after a flood so entrance was in shambles, however by departure, the entrance was cleared. Housekeeping did not make the bed, nor change or re-arrange the towels, however it was evident that someone had looked in because the the towel warmer was shut off and wet towels removed from floor.

Location and bed was comfortable. The receptionist Tiko? Was very helpful on our return to the hotel to get our room key...he gave us a map & some information on places to go..Take the 197 bus from airport to the Museumplein exit & only Euro:4.00 Ech way. If u exit the hotel, turn right & the No.2 Tram will take u into town..Breakfast was fine if u were down early where there were croissants, fresh fruit...If your easy going then you wont be complaining "Some" staff were rude..there was broken glass on the floor at breakfast & it was ignored by staff..there was some refurbishment going on when we arrived but it didnt interupt our stay..phew! The hotel could do with a revamp in fairness though..couldnt fault the location of hotel..it was near museums & not far in anyway to town centre..
