The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and the bed was very comfortable.

Our room was dated. Carpet peeling up at the corners, big chunks of wallpaper missing, and furniture gouged down to raw wood. Room was nonsmoking but had obviously been smoked in at some point in the past. Pipes rattled and sang when we turned on the sink, flushed the toilet, or turned on the shower. The 1/2 glass door on the tub/shower combo did nothing to prevent water from covering the bench seat and floor in the bathroom without using a bunch of towels and the floor mat placed strategically all over the bathroom.

My room stank of cigarettes! One night stay and unfortunately I remember only the bad points about the room.

Hotel Wyndham Apollo is some old, but he has historic and graceful Figure. Also his Location is near by the Canal's 3 way junction. We have good experience in evening; Dancing and flying of mew gull's group and racing of canoe team on the Canal.

But .... that night I have some alchol in Mini-bar drunk, next morning before leaving I take a 55.56Euro receipt for 150ml shampain. Wyndham Hotel charged me an unreasonable price!!!!! I will try recovery 52Euro, in Venezia I have paid only 3 Euro for equal shampain.

good location, good service and a great view to the canal... so pleasuring!

We were given a twin room for the first night, despite booking a double room. We complained immediately, however all of the double rooms were taken for the night. We requested a double room for the second night, but were offered no great apology and no compensation at all. The next morning the receptionist distanced herself from blame, saying she was not there the day before and tried to appease my complaints with a supposed upgrade. The room however was identical to the previous twin, but with a double bed. I found this receptionist business like, condescending and with no genuine concern for our customer satisfaction. This left a sour taste after an otherwise enjoyable weekend. Her parting gift was a demand that we paid our city tax, not included in the base price.

It is a perfect hotel regarding its location and easy acces to transportation. Rooma are sapcious, clean and comfortable. The food is excellent whether for the great breakfast or for dinning. The staff is friendly especially at the reception and the bellmen were excellent and very helpful and are one of the keystones of this hotel.

If you are attending the Amsterdam Rai conference centre it is just a short walk away. The tram stop is also just a few minutes walk away, the number 5 takes you to Central Station passing through all the main tourist districts.

I found that the rooms had been poorly maintained., Multiple problems, too many to list without it sounding like a rant, that I will save for my letter of complaint." Suffice it to say I will never be going back.

Good service in nice environment and quiet evenings

The staff and the facilities were superb! They were so friendly and helpful. We were able to buy our Van Gogh museum tickets at the desk (and we were told that many other tickets could be purchased there to avoid heinously long lines). The entrance to the hotel is not on the canal side, so we didn't even know if was water-front until we looked out our window and saw ducks swimming a few meters away! A very beautiful location :) It was quite a long walk into the city center, but there were trams close-by that helped on that end.

The drawer set was a bit beat-up, but it didn't decrease the functionality. And how much high-quality furniture can you really expect for such a good price in Amsterdam?
