Score from 4303 reviews Excellent
The staff were extremely helpful. I required a restaurant with pasta ahead of the Amsterdam marathon and within 2 minutes the receptionist made a reservation for me within walking distance.
Access to room Table Room facilities (iron & safe) Great first impression of bathroom Quiet room facing the canal The ability to open a window Polite staff
no hotel info within the room (ie. location of health services etc.) old TV poor navigation Keyboard did not work Shower door was leaky and almost slipped on the very wet floor near the toilet. Had to use a towel to soak up the water. Drinking glasses not changed everyday! Air conditioning controls didn't seem to work!
Second time I've been in 6 weeks, and still couldn't log onto wifi with my iPad - staff couldn't help either Breakfast poor, decor and showers worse. In short, would not go back
The staff was extremely polite and helpful, managed to solve all our requests quite rapidly. The rooms were extremely clean, not noisy and thus we managed to get some decent sleep.
- extremely scratched furniture in the room (superior modernized room, according to the reception staff) - old TV equipment, with no children channel among their selection of broadcasted channels - uncomfortable pillows - incoherent electricity switches (desk lamp coupled with entrance hall light)? making it difficult to keep working while your partner tried to sleep - rather expensive breakfast 22 EUR/person, thus 66 EUR/day for a family with a kid (what they offer is a max. 7-8 EUR equivalent in a similar hotel) - expensive parking - overall 3-stars hotel quality, quite far from 4 stars - for 340 EUR/night one should expect a different quality. As frequent travelers we had way better rooms for the same price, even in Amsterdam.
The personnel is very nice et the hotel is very confortable.
The breakfast is very expensive and did not have anything who justify that price. We have diner at the restaurant of the hotel, a mouse was in the room all along ! For a place of that standing, it's not admissible !
Good convenient location for RAI: approximately 10-15 min walk. Trams 5 and 24 to city centre were about 5 min walk from hotel.
Shuttle service from hotel to airport and vice versa very limited. Pity there weren't any bicycles to hire for the day.
Very nice location away from busy down town, not very far from tram stations, very nice neighborhood.
lovely hotel, comfy bed etc
Perfect and happy service in lounge-restaurant! Comfortable, clean rooms
It was a quiet location away from the busy area but not to far from public transport
the wi-fi was very good location midtown very convenient tramway network spacious room with beautiful views and in general clean except the first night to reception the rest of the staff at the reseption the remaining days were really helpful
i didn't like the fact that it was overbooked the first day of our already paid 4 days stay although we pointed out the late arrival upon booking and we were obliged to stay at an other 3stars app4rent plus the suggestion of the receptionman to stay all days at the other hotel if we were pleased plus the fact that the taxi which sent us left us halfway at another with similar name hotel at 4 in the morning bed linen not changed all three days
receptionist called us back from the car on the parking lot for a loading plug of the mobile phone, that was left behind in the room. Nice service !
Friendlness and efficiency of the staff and the lovely setting and view from the terrace.
The shuttle not turning up to collect us and not knowing that there was a charge for return to airport.
good bar good location Some rooms nice
Poor Service (checked into wrong room then 2 subsequent changes) Multiple deposits taken for the different rooms Conflicting information given about payment Room I ended up in was very poor compared to the one my colleague stayed in, despite paying the same price
Have booked this hotel twice now for business and will not hesitate to book it for personal use. Ate in the bar and food was very good. Thoroughly recommend
Rooms are very good. Good breakfast.
Very friendly and warm staff. Staff genuinely interested in your experience. Not too far from downtown. Able to rent a bike and scooter from hotel.
Breakfast was fair, but too pricey for what was offered.
no soap in the bathroom no tissues in bathroom in room bar needs more choice
Wyndham Apollo has always been my choice since 2008. Mainly for the relaxing view of the marina suites (viewing three canals) and the overall quietness of the neighborhood. It is 45 minutes walk (on relaxed pace) from city center. Rooms are clean and generally well furnished. The marina suites would be a better choice over a standard room if spending quality time at your room is part of your daily plan. Never used the facilities. During this visit I have used the restaurants or room service, but I recall in 2008 that it was nice
Manageable to stay.. Nice location, not too far from the center and away from city congestion
Very old building and furniture (suite has combined twin bed instead of king or queen bed)!!!
The garden outside hotel entrance
We were checked-in by 2 grumpy receptionists. The rooms had a bad smell. Mirror in bathroom was broken. There was one ripped robe for the 2 of us. Water pressure was very low. Water drainage very slow in bathtub and sinks. One tiny soap bar was supplied. There was no porter service.
Concierge team terrific for local recommendations.
The location and views were superb.
Cant think of any.
Nice quiet room with comfortable bed. Scenic location at the junction of five canals. Hire bikes available at hotel. Great breakfast, although quite pricey.
Shower over the bathtub is dangerous. Site is hard to find if you haven't been there before, and it is about 800 metres to the closest tram stop and shops.
Location overlooking the canal, service, and breakfast very good, convenient bike hire.
Unfortunately, our room (27) did not live up to its luxurious description. The bathroom was pokey, albeit perfectly clean. The pillows were stuffed with lumpy bits of foam. The decor was very tired and yellow/brown tinged. Wall paper was peeling off the walls and we couldn't open the window for air. The television was not a flat screen LCD but a more old fashion relic. We felt that we did not get our moneys-worth and have stayed in much nicer rooms for a similar price. They were fully booked and we had pre-paid so we did not ask them for an alternative solution or move to another hotel.
