proximity to RAI
the SPA is either closed or unavailable for 3 days !!! - no entertainment or any guide flyers
Very nice breakfast by the canal Staff very friendly and helpful, especially with how to get around on amsterdam's trams and trains
No wifi in room
hotel has charged 100 Euro as a deposit and didn't give me back
So many things. I have already ticked
Location to RAI-staff friendly
Not consistent & expensive ... + booked a 34m2 room got 24m2 standard room, complained & got upgraded. Room service average. Expensive for the service
Staff whit chek out was verry good.
Breakfast not optimal.
I liked the location which is close to tram, museums, stores, groceries, bakeries, Starbucks, train, etc. Nice location for getting around Amsterdam. Staff is friendly and helpful, and hotel is very quiet. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Coffee pot is nice touch. Clients are mostly business travelers.
I don't like the tub/shower and fact that it is slippery. It really needs a mat for safety and an adequate grab bar. Otherwise bath room is usable and very clean and new. I found it interesting that mirror for makeup/shaving is unadjustable and for a tall person....as are most Dutch. I'm short so I couldn't use it, but not a big deal.
cleanliness, excellent wifi, modern equipment
Great view! Soooo nice and comfortable beds. Asked for the highest floor and got a room on the last floor (6th). They offered us 2 free drinks on the bar. The whole hotel was very clean and the stuff very friendly. Very pleasant with the beautiful and quiet area.
They didn't gave us the map of the city and the basic transport information till the last day which happens by chance. Sometimes we felt a little bit cold because the air condiontion was very low as it is supposed to be an economy friendly hotel.
Large room (although others in our party had a much smaller room than us). Clean Modern
Expensive to eat in
Perfect overnight stay for the Amsterdam Marathon. Location of hotel within walking distance of the marathon start.
Walkable to conference center (RAI - <15 minutes Nice canal view Comfortable room Free wifi in room Helpful staff
No clock/alarm in room. No clock on TV. had to buy clock radio - left in room. Food expensive so i did not eat there.
Perfect location for RAI. Clean, comfortable, good sized rooms, good food, everything a modern city hotel should be.
The room was spacious and had a lot of light. It was extremally clean. The service was also very good: they delivered a cradle we asked for in a couple of minutes!
It isn't different from other hotels in Amsterdam but you need to pay extra for parking your car (30 euros per night) and the breakfast is really expensive (more than 20 euros per person)
- The hotel has withdrawn 4000 euro over my bill through my depit card on the 7th of october 2014 and I still running after them through my bank I think in this hotel I should pay cash for safety - rooms with poor toilets they have placed us in though they have renewed rooms
Nice friendly, clean
No food available after 10pm
Relatively spacious, Calm area
A bit far from the center, eur45 for daily parking
Front desk staff were very helpful, prompt and courteous, particularly Miss Kim who checked my husband & I in. Comfortable bed. The bathroom was well equipped and kept very clean. The fitness room was an added bonus.
No one helped with the luggage. Dinner on first night was unimpressive and rather expensive: the fish fingers were soggy and almost tasteless, and the orange juice is the most expensive I have ever had. No microwave in the room.
View on the canal
Dirty socks left from the previous occupant No consideration from staff Expensive No wifi
The reception was pleasant and efficient. The room was fine to average, bathroom was very good. restaurant (dinner) had very interesting menu's and I tried them on two each occasions, good value and excellent food. pleasant staff. check out was excellent, good person with a laugh
at check in, the person did not speak dutch. I stay in hotels globally 60% of my time for the last 30 years and try to imagine that the person at check in in Paris does not speak French, there would be a revolution. The TV has a very limited choice of tv channels, no business channels. The elevators are old to chabby. The area for breakfast is too small, not enough tables and seating capacity for the number of people staying at the hotel. There was not enough staff or management oversite during breakfast, not enough bowls for cereal or plates. There is only one coffee machine which is very slow as well, you had to time getting up at the table to avoid queing for coffee. The choice of fruit was very limited and due to shortage of staff the provions were not enough replenished during the breakfast period. The tables were not cleared timely which also contributed to the congestion during the breakfast period.
The staff were extremely helpful. I required a restaurant with pasta ahead of the Amsterdam marathon and within 2 minutes the receptionist made a reservation for me within walking distance.
1. I asked to book a table in the hotels restoran - reception girl said ok but did not bother to say it was overbooked. In the evening she just said she could not contact me. 2. Asked for late check out on the day of arrival. Was told that it is impossible right on the day of departure. At the same time rooms of same kind were available on booking.com 3. Asked to call a taxi on departure, girl on reception called, taxi came, she said that was mine, I sat inside, closed the door, at the same time other guy from reception jumped, told me it's not my taxi and I should get out... Driver was also surprised. The hotel is massively overpriced. Standard of service is very poor. Personnel has 0 will to help the customer
I liked their high end restaurant. The service was second to non and food was very well presented.
I hated the shortage of staff in the lower end restaurant/bar. This happened to be the busier restaurant yet the staff were inefficient. Service & food took a few hours. I was hungry and livid.
Access to room Table Room facilities (iron & safe) Great first impression of bathroom Quiet room facing the canal The ability to open a window Polite staff
no hotel info within the room (ie. location of health services etc.) old TV poor navigation Keyboard did not work Shower door was leaky and almost slipped on the very wet floor near the toilet. Had to use a towel to soak up the water. Drinking glasses not changed everyday! Air conditioning controls didn't seem to work!
