The room was styled nicely. Only a 10 minute metro ride and a 10 minute walk to the hotel from Centraal Station. The walls are thin and there are doors to each wing of the hotel which close very loudly. Since the hotel is attached to a bar/club, there are people coming and going all night which means you're probably not going to get much sleep here. The doors to each room also close loudly, so if the first slam (from the wing entrance) doesn't wake you up, then either people talking in the hallway or the slam of their room doors will. My room's shower did not drain properly which is a critical problem if you're in a bathroom like mine where the bathroom floor is the shower floor. When the water starts to back up, it floods the rest of your bathroom in less than 3 minutes. The rooms are nice, but because of the shower and noise inconveniences, I would not recommend this hotel. There is nothing about this place that justifies the high cost, not even the location.

The decor was very modern, and the room was very clean. The staff were also very nice. The location was slightly further from the city centre than I would prefer. It wasnt within walking distance - and even the walk to the nearest tram stop took a few minutes.

the bed is very confortable the room is design, but it is really a good design? The room is clean overall, but poor attention to details (spider web close to the window, curtain spotted with blood (i guess from flyes killed by other guests) etc

Design is great, staff was helpfull and very effective. Brakfast was very rich and delicious allthough it was expensive. Location is great because it is far from the city center so that you are free of incredible crowd and noisy nights. However it is very close to tram stop you can reach touristic atractions and city center in a cople of minutes.

Quiet neighborhood, really cool design, comfortable and large bad. I`ve really liked the location just 10 mins by tram either to center or to museums, 15mins to central station and no hordes of tourists roaming around hotel.Very helpful and polite staff. 18euro for breakfast is quite too much in my opinion (but quality was nice). Room was quite durty, table uncleaned and carpet in the was really terrible. Also the ladder in two stage rooms is quite steep, for people in age I would not recommed to book this kind of rooms. But those are minor things that could be ingnored all in all I would put A- to this hotel.

The building, decor and furnishings. We did not enjoy our stay at this Hotel. The building, furnishings and decor were 1st class. Our opinion would be that the staff members we encoutered at the front desk and the bar could all do with customer service training. My advise to people would be go to a closer Hotel in the city where staff are friendly and welcoming. We stayed at Hotel Arena for a special treat but we were really disppointed by the staff. They were unwelcoming.

Room 47 was hell! Bathroom drain clogged. Air condition broke. Stairs to bed too narrow/steep. Reading lamps disconnected from wall. Food never cooked properly. (Asked for well done got rare twice!!!) Bland food. Pillows very uncomfortable. Got better room at the 3rd night (108) but decided to leave after accusations of smoking when we just stored the fragrant coffee-shop products (weed) in our room. Booking wasn't refundable. Hotel gives impression of being central, but you need 20 minutes to get downtown. (Around 10 Euros cab ride)

Our room was very nice, big. Staff were nice and helpful. Breakfast was quite nice and varied. The location was good and not that far from the city centre. Would probably take 30-40min walk, but trams are quite good and run every 7-10mins or so. We could leave the car in the carpark after we checked out until evening. Even though the hotel is nice I still think it was much too expensive. I would recommend it though. The decor in the hotel was not to my taste at all - too much black! A bit creepy. We had 2 bulbs missing - one in the bathroom and the bed lamp. We reported them straight away - but they we still not replaced when we left. They only have a coffee/tea machine and the cue was quite big at breakfast.

Beautiful hotel with a classy sophisticated feel with very helpful and friendly staff. Our room was lovely with a good view over the canal, loved the shower room and the huge comfy bed. Best of all was the breakfast where the hotel was happy for our son and daughter, living locally to join us for an excellent and very varied breakfast in the lovely dining area. Wonderful hotel in lovely location just a couple of tram stops from the best areas in Amsterdam. Will stay again, thanks Hotel Arena for a lovely relaxing short break. There was nothing we did not like about the hotel.

Style and look Health and safety nightmare - nothing to prevent you falling off the stairs from the Mezzanine bed are - very nice looking but a great place for an accident - a side rail on the room side of the stairs would be very appropriate. Also issues in bathroom regarding missing tap and impossible to control water temp.

We stayed here for our honeymoon and it was not at all special. We stayed in what was the best room, the one they use on the website but the layout was ridiculous. The toliet and sink were at opposite ends of the room, the cupboard space was tiny (and we had to take out the safe and ironing board to get 6 pieces hanging. The room was cold when we arrived...

The staff was very nice and helpful. The disco of the Hotel is very good and allows free entrance to hotel guests. The surroundings are quiet, but with easy access to public transports. The rooms have a nice, modern design. The only thing that we think could be improved is the sound isolation of the rooms, because inside the room we could hear noise coming from the disco, until 3am.

The staff were unfriendly. The rooms have dark glass walls to the bathroom, so if you want to watch and hear your travelling companion in the loo this is a must book for you. Our group of 6 returned on Friday evening for a drink in the bar. The music was the loudest boom boom you have ever heard - full throttle. - until the speakers hurt. There were only a few others in bar, we asked them if they could turn it down but they refused - I guess they didnt need our business! Anyway if u want your ears to bleed, book up straight away. We will never use this poor quality hotel again

Quiet area, but close to city trams. Black glass walls for the bathroom may seem trendy, but is easily seen through and therefore there is no privacy at all for using the toilet or washing facilities. Silly design.

We really enjoyed our stay! It was our first time in Amsterdam and we've been gratefully impressed with the quality of the Hotel Arena. The staff was really attentive and helpful with any information we needed. They provide us with restaurant recommendations and we also rent bikes from the Hotel. The room was perfect, bright, with canal views, high ceilings, and very clean. The design of the hotel and rooms is quite simple and minimalist but very warm and cosy. They also have a nice restaurant/bar near the lobby where you can enjoy quietly some food and drinks. Guestlist for the Club too. We only missed the bathrobes and sleepers.... ;)
