The City Hotel Amsterdam includes a complimentary breakfast and is just over a quarter mile from the Central Train Station. Its 18th-century building gives the hotel a characteristic atmosphere.

This futuristic-shaped Fletcher hotel is located within a 2-minutes drive from the A2 and A9 highways. It has free Wi-Fi and modern rooms with a flat-screen TV.
Score from 1556 reviews Good
Despite being a modern hotel you start seeing the signs of time in especially the rooms.
The bed was the comfiest bed I have ever slept in it was amazing the room itself was brilliant
Spacious room with high ceilings and the hotel club.
Staff were very helpful, the free wifi was excellent, best hotel I've stayed in
my room was not clean, bad smell. Restaurant is not excellent.
Lobby and hallways look very nice, interesting style. Restaurant was good. Room was quiet. Next to a big park and not far from the center.
Our deluxe room was nothing like they advertise on the picture. It was tiny and the style very cold and sterile. And when I asked for a bigger room, because we have a small child who runs a lot, the girl at the desk said all the deluxe rooms look the same. So who was lying - she or the hotel on booking.com? I did not get what I paid for.
I'm never one to leave reviews but this hotel is amazing. It's in a fabulous location just outside the busy city centre. The tram is available just outside but we walked as it was a nice day. The facilities are perfect and we will definitely be returning. Excellent value for money and nothing was to much trouble for the staff. Room service was very reasonable and the food was delicious. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to have a lovely stay in Amsterdam.
Nothing at all :)
Good location not too far to walk from the main square. The in house restaurant was beautiful the food was good value for money and tasty. The staff are welcoming and friendly and the rooms are grand and extremely comfortable
The room was nice
Shocked with having to pay deposit at arrival or couldn't enter which I expected I left the hotel on the 21st December we are now on the 16th January still no money if this was other way round I would be classed as in debt with them if this was done in the street be classed as robbing so what is the difference in this case I have basically been robbed
The whole experience of staying there was very good. Definetely the best hotel i've ever stayed. The decoration, either outside or inside the room, is very modern. The staff, very friendly, always ready to help you. The room is so big and comfortable that it will make you feel at home, and never want to leave it!!!
I found it slightly far from city centre, however really easy access to metro and tram that bring you straight to the main turistic spots.
The hotel was very modern and our room was kept clean. The beds we had were very comfortable (but we were given two single beds). The free wifi was an excellent addition as it enabled us to stay in contact with family and friends when we got back to the hotel at night. There were also some English channels on the tv, and the staff spoke very good English.
We were given two single beds instead of a double bed. And these moved about during the night due to having wheels on a laminate floor. Whilst the hotel was fairly inexpensive, it was very far out from the centre (we ended up walking over 23 miles over the course of 2 and a half days) but a metro stop is just around the corner. I recommend buying the City Card for part of your stay as it includes public transport and entry to many museums. Whilst the majority of the staff were helpful, some of the staff might seem to be rude.
Hotel staff were very helpful. On arrival we were given 2 floor room (although we booked for 2adults + 1infant), but when went to the reception to ask for a cot bed for our 1.5year old daughter, they upgraded our room for bigger one without additional charge. Hotel is in good location, approx 15min walk from the town centre. There is small supermarket nearby. Overall, quite happy with choosing this hotel.
Floors weren't very clean - there were lot of dust under the bed. Sealing in the shower was mouldy, white sink had brown water marks on it. Hotel should pay more attention in making bathroom sparkling clean.
Ambience and all in all a nice hotel
Noisy in the morning; No roomkeeping; loud noises from the heating radiator in the room
no batteries in the remote. no liquid soap. hard to reach rooms on the 2nd floor (2 long hallways). fire alarm went on for minutes and no one around
This hotel is perfectly located between two tram lines which will take you all over Amsterdam within 10 minutes. We had a free upgrade to a deluxe suite when we arrived and the staff were so friendly and knowledgable. Beautiful hotel and the bath in our room was ginormous! Highly recommend this hotel.
Front desk staff were brilliant.
The square pillows on the beds were too tall and high off the bed, this made it uncomfortable, I would have preferred standard rectangular pillows.
Our second stay at Hotel Arena, just as lovely as the first time and amazing value for money. The comfiest bed EVER! Plus the staff are very friendly and helpful. Would defiantly go back a third time!
at breakfast time, no cook was able to produce poached eggs!
- design hotel - awesome bed - relaxing shower - delicious burgers & breakfast in the restaurant
- some places are very cold
The Arena Hotel is definitely worth staying, not only is it value for money, but the rooms are lovely and clean. Staff are very helpful and friendly.I found the location ideal,it's about 20 minutes walk from the city centre or there's various trams that stop within 5 minutes walk from the hotel. The only negative is the breakfast is expensive at 17 euros per person,so we just ate at local cafes. Overall I would definitely return.
Breakfast was far to expensive at 17 euros per person.
Amazing building in a great location only a short team ride to Rembrandt Square. The staff made us feel incredibly welcome and gave us some great tips on non touristy places to visit. The barman made the best Mohito's we had ever tasted. We were all ( 3 couples) upgraded to studios which made our stay even more special.
The shower looked like it needed updating and was a little grubby but I am being very picky here. It worked perfectly fine.
Friendly staff, 10 min from center by foot, tranquil zone and beautiful historical building with internal garden, excellent breakfast, large luminous rooms, free wi-fi
poor cleaningless of the floors and of the bathroom, (dusty and dirty floor in the room, old soap deposits in the sink and shower, watter stains on the glass walls and mirror)
Rooms Staff Cleanliness
Cleanliness, staff and modern environment was lovely!
Location was a pain when first arriving and not knowing where we were
