This was the most appalling place I have aver stayed in. Room in the cellar, smelly, damp, full of mosquitos, verminous and lound. I can not understand how anyone can offer such a place as a hotel. Booking.com should not facilitate a location like that.

The two main advantages are the staff and it's location. - The receptionists are very kind, nice and are always willing to help. We'd like to thank Mr. Muhammad, Mr. Renzo, Mr. Carlos, Mrs. Elska & miss Lydia. - The hotel is within a walking distance from Dam square (about 15 min), Rembrandt square (about 10 min.) very close to Leidseplein, Vondel park, bike renting shops and a whole lot of places to hang out. - Breakfast is pretty good as well. - Rooms are clean. - Typical dutch staircases. No elevator.

The Art Gallery Hotel Amsterdam is situated in a good location and comparing to other some category hotel it is one of the best hotel I've ever seen since I started my several Amsterdam trips. Unfortunately when we arrived to the hotel it was overbooked. They told me that the problem was due to my credit card but how can I know about problem if they didn't send me any e-mail or phone call before arrival? I would have give them another credit card number. Additionally due to this communication problem we've been so badly treated by Mr. Mohammad, one of the reception manager, who was continuously blaming on me simply 'cause my card didn't work. People like him has to learn some education before approaching jobs which need a constant contact with customers. Fortunately the problem was solved even if the first night they sent us to another hotel which was not as good as they told us... But the day after Mr. Ed was so kind to finally solve the problem giving us so much benefits and discounts for the remaining two nights at the Art Gallery Hotel.

The location of the hotel was great for all the local attractions and nightlife without being affected by noise. The staff were really helpful espcially with booking tours and trips, and even lent me an umbrella when the weather was bad.

The natural lighting, windows and views from the bedroom (deluxe), the tasteful decor of the room and the friendly staff. Would have preferred a dobule bed rather than two singles pushed together.

The prices matches perfectly with the service and the expectations. The location is great. The room is clean and the bed comfortable, just some water tubes and wall painting could be more cute but I recommend it for people who needs an affordable hotel room with good urban access and good service.

The location is perfect. Stairs are steep but that is just the same at the rest of the hotels. Staff speaks very fluent English. Very clos to the night clubs. Walls are a bit thin so you might want to wish everbody is sleeping while you are trying to.

I like their room, not big but comfortable enough. Especially love the window that I can open. It's my first hotel I live in Amsterdam and the only one, feel so good! Staffs are nice and the breakfast is not much options but that's enough to fill the energy~

Comfortable beds, helpful staff, decent yet somewhat worn out rooms. "Climbing" the stairs was a nuisance but overall I got what I paid for. So no complains as the room was very clean, new sheets and towels everyday. Its also a few minutes walk from Leidseplein. Next time I will most likely go for something a bit more upscale like the Best Western Apollo.

Extremely soft bed, nice big shower, very cozy bedroom. The breakfast is worth every cent spent, and the crew is absolutely awesome: they give you tips on the check-in that are enough for you to meet the whole city in a couple of days. Besides, being right next to Leidsplein, the location is the best! It's not a complaint about the hotel, since almost every place in Amsterdam has the same issue: stairs! We stayed on the last floor, and the tight, small stairway was a bit exhausting to get in and out. Pack lightly and you're good, though.

Location was very nice and it was very convenient. If you don't want the luxury at the hotel, I think Art Gallery Hotel will satisfy your request. The stairs were so steep and it reminded me of the Anne Frank Museum. If you carry a lot of baggage, you feel hard to climb up the steps. There was no toilet and shower facility in my room and I shared them with other visitors but facility themselves were clean. I expected my own toilet and shower facility since the room charges was 89 Euros on Saturday.
