Shower, water spills out and curtain is old.
View from the room, stairs, hairdryer in the room, towels (we were not excpecting that), friendly staff, free city maps; we could leave luggage in the reception desk for couple of hours
The location. The place is surrounded by beautiful buildings, and is not far from the Centraal station either if we take the tram. The staff (at first, a girl whose name I forget, and then a guy named Jai) were very friendly and helpful. In particular, they let me take printouts of my travel tickets for the next couple of days: just sent the tickets to their email address and they took the printouts when I was checking out. I also saw Jai helping a couple of girls get their luggage down from their room (for the "why", see what I didn't like).
The stairs, oh, the stairs! I stayed on the fourth floor, and had to go up four (4!!) increasingly narrow and steep flights of stairs to get to my room. If you have more than a little luggage, getting it up and down is a real backbreaker! Even otherwise: getting out of the hotel and then back into the room is a big chore, especially if you are drunk/otherwise in capacitated! The bathroom and toilet facilities were not so good. The place was clean, but it lacked basic stuff like a place (or better, places) to hang a coat or clothes while we go at our task.
Its a clean, comfortable, well-located hotel. Rooms are tasteful and clean.
Often the reception was not manned and so I was left standing outside the hotel in the cold with nobody to open the door to let me in.
The location is great, the most of sightseeings can be reached on foot. The rooms are small but very clean, beds are good and cozy especially after long walking days. But there are narrow and steep stairs so it might be not suitable for some people. The staff is very friendly and helpful. And I would choose this hotel for my next trip.
Not clean everyday
location clean kind staff
We got an enquire room. Everything was great - location and convenience. We liked being closer to the museums than the city centre.
Problems with checkin, room was prepaid but reception still wanted credit card. Very unfriendly at checkin. Single room is small & has bunk beds, not single bed like on photo. One evening the staff checked the rooms for smoking in avery rude manner. Got me out of bed by knocking loudly on all doors. TV was not usable, mainly snow on all the channels.
beds are small for me
Excellent location, comfortable bed, clean linens, washing liquids, clean towels each day, wifi.
Outdated toilet facilities (plastic shower curtain).
- Cramped and very claustrophobic - Blocked shower drain on the first day - Bad smell coming from the bathroom area for whole duration of stay - Very hot and stuffy (without fan), and heater knob didn't work - Bathroom layout was very poor, similar to swimming wet area. Toilet so close that the shower curtain was grazing it - Inconsistent housekeeping e.G. Changed bedsheet but not pillowcases - Lots of stomping and banging on the landing which can't necessarily be controlled, but makes me wonder about how thin the walls are and why people are stomping at all. At times housekeeping.
heating is perfect!
The female receptionist is not patient and wifi is not so good
The location, right next to the two most famous museums in Amsterdam. The price was good because I managed to get an exceptionally good deal. Nice decor, it look like it did in the photos, but the bathroom is quite plain.
No breakfast No Hairdryer Lots of Stairs, especially if you're on the 4th floor Toilert was very very dirty, even though the rest of the room and bathroom was very clean.
Spacious and clean room
Noise from street
Almost everything location staff room bathroom etc
The wifi signal in my room was terrible and those stairs till the 4th floor were killing me. However, I was spent all my day sightseeing so I climbed it just once a day.
Fantastic location, museums just few minute walk, close to lively area , easy to find something to eat/drink
Bed for single room is very small and un-comfy, there are two wardrobe in the room which is better to make the bed a bit bigger
Very nice hotel, perfect geographic situation in the heart of the city center, close to museums! Very kind staff, rooms are not so luxurious but correct, clean and very nice beds. You can hear a little what happens outside your room but it's really okay! I would totally recommend this hotel for young people like us, the value is very good!
It's a very good hotel near city centre and the most important museums! The chamber was comfortable and the staff was nice!
It's cheap, clean, good location and just very easy... Which is exactly what you want. I've stayed here 3 times now and will be back soon.
The only downside to this place is the stairs. Twice my room has been on the 4th floor, 112 (Yep, i counted) steep steps to your room is not what you need when you've been hitting amsterdam. It is annoying... But in no way a reason not to stay here. Great place.
Hotel clean and comfortable and well located for Museum quarter. Staff very friendly and helpful
Front entrance would benefit from smartening up.
Location and staff very good! Friendly and welcoming!
There are a lot of stairs, felt slightly unsafe, we were offered a room on the 4th floor but had to move as the stairs where too much and there is no lift!
Location, beds were very comfy, friendly staff, free wifi
Staff were friendly but useless! Examples: 1. We asked for local Dutch cuisine. Was told there were none in the area, after exploring found there were 2 around 200 yards from hotel. 2. Emailed beforehand to ask if there was a safe in the room, this was confirmed by staff. On arrival there wasn't one and was told after a lot of complaining there was a communal one we could use! 3. Asked for a double bed and were given 2 singles, compromise was pushing them together. 4. Asked for a place to buy coffee to go; was told the only place was the infamous cannabis coffeeshops, literally found one at the end of the street that was a regular café. 5. We were told on arrival it was vital we must hand in our key when we go out, were told something different by every member of staff, some were even a little bit condesending when we tried to hand in/collect our keys.
