The breakfast was great and the room was nice size and the washroom was clean with hot water. The stairs are just terrible, especially if you are planning on drinking lots of beer! Try staying on the 1st floor! |

Parking. Park outside hotel at cost of 35 euro or try to find park and ride on outskirts of town for 6 euro.Even with directions from hotel, still couldn't find park and ride without getting lost. Cleanliness could have been better. |

The included breakfast was ample and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is situated near the outer canal of Amsterdam. It is very qiuet at night and only a short walk to various pleins, RLD, city center, and other attractions. I did not like pillow at the hotel. It was terribly lumpy. I got over it after the first night as I was very tired. |

The rooms were clean, the breakfast (and the breakfast area) was good and there was plenty of information available. On the day of arrival I was told twice (at 14:00 and at 15:20) that my room was not ready. The second time I said that I was not happy and strangely a room was suddenly available. I paid, but then was told that my credit card had already been debited (not good). Later I was told to change room the follwing day (a better room apparently). Checked this in the morning and was told that I would have to pay for an upgrade (not requested, not desired). On leaving staff tried to charge me second time for safe rental. Reception staff do not talk to each other. No plugs in the sinks means the signs about saving energy through re-using towels are just empty talk. |

Good quiet location yet central.Friendly,helpful staff,good breakfast. 50 euros deposit for room safe key is far too high.....almost not a service.Window design meant it only opened a little,so can be a little hot in room in summer. |

Hotel is well-located nearby museums and city center, easy reached by tram from railway station. Hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. Excelent breakfast. Very good buffet breakfast. |

The staff were friendly, hotel was pretty close to all the happening areas and Dam square via tram, 15 mins max, rooms and the shared toilets were very tidy, generally very safe and secure, no noise late night, read somewhere about the steep staircase it is steep alright but take the lift instead so no issues there. I think there could be other places available even closer to city within the same price range so I don't think its really good value for money. |

This was a good clean hotel that is excellently situated for exploring the Amsterdam museums. Good buffet style breakfast. Budget rooms sometimes require one to travel to the next landing for a shared shower. However given the good value of these rooms probably a minor sacrifice worth making. |

This was our second stay at Asterisk a very friendly hotel with a good breakfast, The personal is very helpful and friendly. Asterisk hotel is located in walking distance to the tramp station |

quiet place and about 20 minutes walk from central station. The breakfast is too simple, even if i knew from the reviews of other people. I don't think there will be any change in the near future. |

Very helpful front desk and kind, considerate staff. Room was cleaned nicely.Great location. Better than average breakfast. Shower water not contained (filled the entire bathroom). No WIFI possibility in our hotel room. Had to pay for WIFI, when it is common in other hotels around Europe to have free WIFI for guests. |

We liked its location in the centre of the town. The room was spacious and warm and clean. Maybee too thin walls, namely at night. Service was excellent, breakfast too. As I stated before, the wall are very thin and we could hear noise at night. Spare blanket would also be helpful. |
