The patio, as a smoker I could sit out and enjoy the canal which was 5 ft in front of me and not worry about a thing! It was nice to be 15 mins outside the busy city and relax in the quiet environment.

The bed was quite noisy, I think the springs need a bit of oil.

Rooms comfortable, nice living area. Ok for a weekend break.

Location was a bit of a disappointment, first impression 'it's a green tin shed'. Patio doors broken, balcony overgrown. 10 minute walk to catch the tram to the centre. Payment is CASH ONLY. Would be nice to have some sort of Kitchen.

Lovely clean spacious apartment in an excellent location....unusual, secluded setting and lovely safe cycle ride through the park into the busier city centre. Warm and friendly welcome and good advice on hand from Early.

Better facilities for 'self catering' needed. Whilst a fridge, kettle and microwave are provided, a small kitchen workspace with more crockery and maybe a toaster would have been appreciated. Having to wash pots in the small bathroom sink was OK for a couple of days, but would have become a bigger issue if we had stayed longer.

The owner, Early, is an extremely friendly guy who really wants to make you feel at home at his B&B. He helped us with our luggage when arriving and leaving the premises. He is very thoughtful, and he will really take his time to answer any of your questions. Also, he is very knowledgeable about Amsterdam because he is a true born and bred Amsterdammer (you don't meet too many of these people in Amsterdam!). The B&B is very spacious and it feels cozy like you are in someone's home. Also, it is very clean and well-kept. There is a terrace that faces a stream, and it is very pleasant. The bathroom is very modern and clean. We found it so nice to have a microwave, water kettle, cups&plates, and a fridge to keep our drinks cold. You can get the best of both worlds at this place because the facility is located in a very quiet neighbourhood close to a nature reserve (you won't encounter any rowdy drunken tourists), and within minutes walking you are close to many cafes, the Vondelpark, and supermarkets (Albert Heijn and Dirk van den Broek). I love this neighbourhood because I used to live here, and I think you'll get more of a real Amsterdam experience. (You won't find any cheesy souvenir shops, places serving English breakfasts, etc.) There is also a very nice Belgian restaurant called the 'Gent aan de Schenkel' nearby. Having these supermarkets close by is a real bonus, since we managed to buy our breakfast and lunch and it have it in a relaxing atmosphere. I highly recommend this place!

The place was clean and quiet (depending on your neighbors). Early was nice and eager to speak our languages.

It was a bit hard to find even with the map (the exterior is a bit deceiving). We had to share a bed for half our stay until the other bed was prepared. Unfortunately a window was broken so we couldn't enjoy the patio.

Very good. Early is a very nice guy. Confortable accomodation, very close to many atractions in 10 or 15 min by tram (very close to Olympish Stadium, trams 16 and 24 to centrum). Simple, but very good. We wanna go back if it's possible

Mr Early is the man! He helped us when we were lost! Told us about local attractions and even printed out our itineraries for us when we had to fly home! We spent the last days of our honeymoon here, it was very inspiring, we will most definitely be back!

Convenient location for Rai and getting to city Quirky place Would love to be here in summer Early is very friendly and helpful Arranged to meet and bring us to the apartment as it is not easy to find initially The shower was great Plenty of hot water and the heating was always on and easy to control Cooking facilities are basic but adequate- Full size fridge, microwave and kettle Plenty of dishes and plates We got basics for breakfast and packed lunch in local supermarket Fidelio restaurant not far away was excellent Went there 3 nights out of 6 it was so good! You need to know this is not on a main street and really on an island No problem getting a taxi to drop us off close by There is no sink in the kitchenette and you need to wash up in bathroom. This was not a problem for us but some people might find that an issue We enjoyed our 6 day visit The canal is just outside the patio and it was so relaxing to have that view in the morning before a busy day in Rai Will certainly come back here It was a haven of peace

Nothing The description is accurate so there was no disappointment

Not in the centre of Amsterdam but the better for it - the charm of Amsterdam without the crowds. In an off-beat location in an old tram shed next to the canal one side and a cycle path the other. Easy cycling distance of Amsterdam Bos and walking to the Gerrit Rietveld Academy - we were visiting our son who studies there. Apartment spotless, good bathroom and spacious lounge area. Lovely having a view direct onto canal. Early is a character and very easy going. All great.

    Nothing.

Mr. Early couldn't be more nice. He was very helpful in everything one would need. Room was also very good with an access to terrace with stunning view. 10min walk to bus/tram stop and then around 20-30 min to the city center. Thank you!

Everything was perfect. The only thing was a bit noisy bed;-)

The location, right on the river and behind the Olympic Stadium, was lovely, and a real change from being in the city centre. The old-style room was very nice, lots of tea and coffee, and much more space than your average hotel room! Nice to have a wifi connection all to yourself too.

The bed was extremely squeaky, to the extent of waking me up in the night if I turned over.

Excellent service from the owner Very comfortable and spacious rooms. Easily fit a small family. Good price, peaceful part of town but close to bars, restaurant Early and his rooms/appartments are full of character!

Difficult to find, no sign outside and you would never guess its a guest house - but to be honest this adds to the charm! Recommended

Early, himself, is a very nice person and ensures that your stay is enjoyable. The inside of the room was quite nice and very unexpectedly large and comfortable.

You will never find this place without Early's help the first time. After that, your fine. The wifi had to be reconnected with a long complicated key everytime you left the room and returned (apperantly only iphones have this problem).

It was nice to be surrounded by the nature, to feed the ducks during breakfast and to look the spiders on the terrace during the evening

it's a little bit far from the city center and the way to come back home is isolated during the evening and the night

I have never been to more romantic place than this. You can have a glass of good wine on the terrace in the evening and watch the full moon reflecting in the watter just 3 meters in front of you. In the morning you can spend ages by waking yourself up by a mug of hot coffee and feeding the ducks with bread and you will have the feeling you can nearly touch them. It's pretty far from city center (6 km or somethIng like that) but this is absolutely no problem in the world's cycling capital. Early is a nice guy, very friendly and helpfull.

Nice quiet spot with a canal side terrace. Early himself came to meet us to show us to our apartment. Early was friendly and accommodating (we were late to meet him). The location is a little bit outside the city but with the tram and bus services, this was not a problem. I would stay at Early's again before i even looked at any other accommodation.
