Friendly, helpful staff who greeted me pleasantly, spoke to me in my own language and were willing to go the extra mile. The bed was super comfy - a great night's sleep. The quirky character of the place was delightful. Can't rate wifi cos I didn't use it.
A bit of a queue for the shower, but it was worth the wait. Lovely and warm with good pressure, even on top floor!
The location was great
Rooms very small
The location is perfect..right in the middle of everything you need for your trip to Amsterdam. Friendly helpful staff and more then nice enough for a place to rest your head and get changed before you explore the city.
The shower was a bit annoying getting the correct temperature but got there In the end !
As the other reviews mentioned, this place is a little 'tired', the facilities could use some renovation. People with mobility issues should take note of the fact that all staircases are very steep.
Staff really friendly and helpful. After a short problem with water supply one morning, we were offered free breakfast by way of compensation. Great supply of tourist info at the reception. And chapeau bas for a photographer - rooms on Booking.com pics look way better then in real :-) Location - good, but... see the red box.
1. Noise!! Rembrandt Square is surrounded by pubs, restaurants and night clubs - which is good if you like it, but terrible if you don't fancy sleeping with subwoofer under your pillow. 2. Poor Wi-Fi: lots of networks offered, none works properly. I got an access for maybe 1 hour altogether out of 5-day staying, same problem on two different smartphones. A guy in reception couldn't really help.
The hotel was locate perfectly for the purpose of our trip which was New Years celebrations. The reception desk was operating 24 hours a day which was great .
Fabrications of the room were very poor, especially bathrooms. Hygiene of room lacked attention to detail.
For the first two days we had no hot water and therefore couldn't shower - it made for a very unpleasant experience and therefore I won't return
Location is as good as it gets for the price asked
1. No hot water in the evening, no water at all in the morning. I don't think I can add anything else to it. Booking a room with a private bathroom proved useless. 2. No WIFI. Since some of the rooms are in a different building than the reception (accessible through the rooftop), they do not reach the signal. 3. Cold, cold, cold. We used double blankets to get us through the night.
The staff were very nice and welcoming
The pictures that were displayed on the website were very deceiving. Our room was very small, extremely basic and dated. The hotel was not particularly clean, the bathroom facilities were poor and it was generally not a very inviting place. Apart from the staff it was not a particularly nice hotel.
Staff were nice and helpful. Good, central location.
The room was small, the bed uncomfortable, and the facilities, especially the hall toilet, not very clean.
We arrived at the hotel about 11am - quite a few hours before check in. But for an additional 20 euros, we got early check in anda beautiful room upgrade. I mentioned to the best receptionist I have ever met (didn't catch her name) that we were visiting to celebrate our 5 year anniversary and she gave us a room with a view that looked out over Rembrandt square. The location is great, right in the middle of a few coffee shops, places to eat and a few bars. Leidsplein and Dam Square are about a 10 min walk. The room was spacious, tidy and comfortable. All the staff we came across were polite, friendly and really made us feel welcome. This is the second time we have stayed in Hotel Atlana and no doubt we will be back again!
The staff was nice and helpfull (they indicated good places to go), the location was also very good.
The room and the bathroom were very small. The hotel had a lot of stairs and I had to carry my bag to the room on my own (no one of the staff helped me), witch was very dificcult because it was big and heavy. I think it was very expensive for the type of hotel that it is.
Friendly staff, great location, close to tram stop, clean shared bathroom, free wi-fi, comfortable bed, hairdryer in room, decent cost.
Outdated decor, leaving key at the desk, paying up front, noisy at night, dirty walls, expensive breakfast.
I have stayed in this hotel a few times and always had good service from staff, and the location is perfect.
Abby highlighted an excellent trekking tour on his complimentary map and Nani, behind the desk. was a most amiable hostess.
I would have preferred a room with a view.
Staff was nice and helpful , Location is Excellent ,we had the room with street view was very nice , when you close the window you can not here the street,The breakfast in the Irish pub down stairs is very very good ,
Every thing is very old,I don't mind so much, but it need a very deep clean, and daily good clean to maintain it, for 100 euro a day you like to have the please super clean ,
Great staff and location. Very clean and a great value for the money.
dirty room there are many noise nights
The room was nice and warm, bed wasn't made on a late arrival, staff were very nice, over all a basic and pleasant stay. Location was good.
The rooms were noisy you could hear everything but as your out it's not to bad, would have liked the bed to have been made on arrival especially as it was late. But you get what you pay for. Over all not to bad.
Location Friendly Staff
Didn't get 2 single beds when I specifically asked. Had a shared bathroom when I know I booked en suite. Rooms are very dingy and depressing.
I like all things in the lovely hotel; the location and staff are great. There are alots of restaurants and shops close to the hotel.
We simply enjoyed staying there. Friendly staff, beautiful design of the room (was cleaned every day) and great central location (plenty of coffe shops, restaurants).. I would highly recommend this place for those who are planning to spend a few days in Amsterdam.
The only disadvantage I could mention, the walls are so thin that one could clearly hear the neighbors. Fortunately ours were ok.
Excellent value for money , we looked over the square and watched the artists and musicians create a memorable atmosphere as tram drivers and cyclists argued over right of way. Surrounded by cafes and restaurants and the buzz of different nationalities , don't miss this experience. Could have taken the bed home with us , so comfortable and if you didn't want the noise , just close the windows . Fab
Steep stairs quite tricky if the red wine took effect.
