The Atlas Hotel is a small Art Nouveau style hotel on the edge of the Vondelpark. Experience one of the most beautiful areas of Amsterdam. The stylish guest rooms come with modern facilities and a private bathroom. All of the rooms have a private bathroom with a bathtub/shower. In the morning, you can enjoy a continental breakfast buffet with hot and cold dishes. Afterwards, go out and explore the area with its trendy shops, charming boutiques and the prettiest cafés. The Atlas Hotel is only a few minutes from the Van Gogh Museum and the Rijkmuseum. You are also close to the Leidse Square entertainment area. Hotel Rooms: 23, Hotel Chain: Hampshire Hotels.

The location is good; it is right next to Vondel Park and far enough out of the center of activity. Shabby room, thin walls so can be noisy. Very cheap and minimal towels. Did not restock coffee bar in room. Breakfast room is too small for the number of guests. Breakfast only until 9:30. Was not informed that there is a 6% extra charge if using a credit card so had to go back out to cash machine. Charged to keep bags for a few hours at check out. Not warm and friendly; purely a budget-class hotel but the prices did not reflect that. Also, many of the staff were unwelcoming or rude. One girl yelled at my partner for using the milk in the large pitcher on the breakfast bar for coffee because, apparently, there was a small pitcher near the coffee pot. This is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at. Do not give them your money. The photos do not reflect the real condition or quality of the rooms.

Location is great, tram station just outside of hotel,Vondel park in front. Breakfast is ok,just what you need before exploring the city. Room was clean, you can make coffee or tea in the room, heating was excellant. Hair dryer didn't work and the staff could be friendlier.

. The staff was good. The rooms were not cleaned properly. There were some dust and rubbish on the heating. The curtains seem to have not been washed for years. The furnitures are spoiled, broken and old fashioned. The breakfast was poor. The location was not so good. It was in the museum plein. Iand it was not so c otlose to Dam Square or the other monuments on foot.

The location is great, on a good tram line and right next to Vondel Park. The art deco appearance of the hotel exterior is lovely. We expected the rooms to be in the same style as the entrance to the hotel but they were very ordinary and whilst clean were somewhat basically furnished. The outlook of the room we were offerered was onto the rear yard. Breakfast was challenging given the layout of the room - there really wasn't space to get in and out of tables comfortably.

The location is excellent in a quiet part of the city and 100 metres from a tram stop. The room was of a good size, cleaned each day with fresh towels, and the staff were most helpful. The breakfast room is a little small and if all the guests wish to eat at the same time there is a logistical problem. The shower head connection to the wall slider was missing, the net curtain torn and the coffee table broken. All could have been attended to fairly easily.

Windows are very old, it was very hard to open. Bikes are terrible: one speed and extremely heavy. And, of cause. The price: 216 Euro/night is absolutely not fare for such a hotel. A hotel next to Atlas where we stood previous night was much better and cost us just half. They charged us immediately and refused to cancel the reservation. Never stay in atlas.

Staff helpful and friendly. Hotel clean, breakfast pretty much the usual "continental" style, but lots of it and replenished often and therefore fresh. Mostly rooms fine and for the less mobile there is a lift. Proximity to large park great, somewhere to catch your breath and rest your feet with a relaxing coffee after a hard days sightseeing and just enjoy playing watching. Couple of good bars near by. Although not in the "centre" of things, tram stop close to the hotel making it easy to get to the furthest parts of the city. Would certainly stay there again. The small room in the basement (room 101) we were allocated! However after complaining re size, and lack of light, we were allocated a new room the following morning (the hotel had been full) which was lovely and much more typical of the property.

The worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Extremely dirty, poor breakfast, very small rooms (about 10 sq.m) for a very high price, very unfriendly personnel and management.

Location next to Vondelpark, closeness to tramstation and the museums. We were surprised that the room had to be paid beforehand. There was an additional 10 euro city tax that was not mentioned in the printout of my original reservation. Credit card payment would have costed 6% extra so we paid in cash. We were first given a room which was partially below ground level. There was a strong moldy stench in the room and in the bathroom in particular. We compained about the room and we were immediately given a decent althoug a bit worn out new room on the 2nd floor. We got the impression that the moldy stench of the first room was not a surpise to the lady at the reception. We stayed two nights and have nothing negative to say about the people at the reception on the next two days. The guy at the reception was very helpful during checkout. Still the overall impression was a disappointment. Moreover, the walls are paper thin. Normal discussion in another room could be easily heard..

Excellent location, near the leidseplein 10 minute walk, small but cozy rooms, flatscreen TV. I stayed in room 336 on the top floor for three days and liked it. Nice receptionist, booked us a taxi to schiphol for 35 euro's, we had to buy a voucher at the desk. Good housekeeping. On the 2nd day the room wasn't cleaned, we did went out late out of the room, but even still a bit dissapointing. The heater was making noise of water moving the first two nights. Quiet location but the hotel is very noisy, you can hear people talk through the walls. I would however recommend it because of the location and price!

If you are traveling with no luggage and willing to stay in toys house, you can choose this hotel. I have traveling around the world and this is the smallest hotel (everything including room, bathroom, lobby and restaurant) I have ever stayed. Never ever come back again to stay in this hotel, I mean it.

Very helpful staff. The hotel was close to the Tram, and close to the bus going directly to the arirport. Also close to some good, up-market restaurants. It is also close to the museums. The hotel rooms were very small, and badly lit. Breakfast was chaotic, boiling kettle being used by all guests to try to make their own tea-- not really safe. The area is very dead at night, and we had to walk miles to find a bar after 10pm.. The hotel used to have a bar, but closed it..But there are some lovely restaurants nearby However, to get the real feeling of Amsterdam, you probably need to be nearer the canals, or the centre. But we travelled in February, which is off-season, and this may account for the fact that things were closed in the area around the hotel.

Our room, on the 3rd floor, was clean, warm, and cosy, with everything that you need (free internet, bath, water boiler for coffee and tea). It is not large but that's normal in Amsterdam, and the paint on the wall was in some places a little old, but the room altogether looked well taken care of. Room did not have a fridge but I don't find that necessary (and in winter to keep something cool you can just put it on the window ledge!!) As I understand it other rooms may be less nice, but this one really was nice.

Excellent location — close to major museums and Het Concertgebouw. Quiet district near a park. Friendly staff. The walls are a bit thin, so you can hear people in other rooms. This is a problem if your neighbors came to Amsterdam to party and smoke weed. Towel sets were different every day — sometimes we got two hand towels, sometimes one hand towel and one foot towel. Our double bed was composed of two single beds (this is quite common), which moved apart at most unfortunate moments.

Clean and reasonably comfortable hotel in a handy location . The buffet breakfast was well presented and varied. No hotel parking provided which is a major disadvantage if you are visiting Amsterdam in own transport - the municipal meters are ruinously expensive and operate from 9am to midnight !

The location was really good. 10 m from the tram stop helped allot as I had lots of heavy bags. The hotel is also walking distance from the museums. The rooms are really clean and one of the only hotels that offers 2 pillows in the whole of Europe. My neck really appreciated it after traveling through the whole of Europe.
