“We really liked the family room with it's attic bit for the children, it was more spacious than we thought it would be and looked out onto a pretty street. The breakfast was brilliant, a very wide choice and nice and fresh.”

A great hotel in comparison with other 3* hotels. Great location that is very quiet in the heart of Amsterdam. It has good quality of cleanliness of the room and bathroom.also, it provides a good breakfast that I think is quite suitable for all type of people. I stayed in the second floor and the WiFi internet was quick. Really this hotel was a big part of my joy and comfort in this trip to Amsterdam according to its price, location, cleanliness and breakfast. I highly recommend it. There is not tea & coffee maker.... If you leave your luggage there is no numbers to be protected, and the hotel is not responsible for it in case of loss or stealing.

Nice comfortable rooms (I took the double-bed one), great breakfast and great location. The room decoration and style felt old. No amenities in the room (really lacked a kettle... ).

The hotel is so convenient. 5 minute walk from Centraal station, 5 minute walk Dam Square, 2 blocks to the tram stop and all the rest of town. So many cafe's and places to sit and watch. And a great breakfast. Avenue Hotel is a great value for what you get. It's nothing fancy but it is clean, safe and comfortable and an easy to find location on a main street. My room for 2 nights was Room 505, 5th floor facing the street. If you have the windows open it can get noisy which is fine in the morning but there is air conditioning so the windows can be closed at night for nearly no noise from the street. I would stay here again.

The hotel is located right around the corner from Central Station. There's a restaurant called Humphries 2 blocks from the hotel that is excellent! Breakfast is included and has hot food (eggs, bacon, sausage). The rooms are tiny. We booked a triple with a baby cot, there was really no room for this many people in one room. We had to have my 2 year old daughter stay with her grandparents. Oh my gosh there is no parking! If you park on the street it's 5 euro an hour, if you park in the parking garage it's 50 euros and if you have the hotel staff park you it's 30 euro. So we took the hotel staff parking option, but if you need to do anything with your car before you're actually ready to leave it cost 10 euros. Such a rip off!!!

Excellent location, right in the middle of town. Very friendly and helpful staff. Room was a bit tired looking but then the price you pay is probably more for the location. Adequate for a short stay.

The location was great, just off the main road from Central Station, but well insulated for street noise. We had the family apartment, on two levels, with a typical Amsterdam narrow staircase. Nice old fashioned appeal. Staff was helpful and friendly. Breakfast was sub-par in our opinion.

Location and breakfast. The breakfast was good with a wide selection. Rooms, service We checked in late and were given a corner twin room in the 5th floor despite repeated emails and phone calls, requests for a double room. however the receptionist told she can change our room only next day. The room was HORRIBLE!! There were holes and stains all over the carpet and blankets. The bathroom was tiny. a 2'×2' shower area with no door on the side. We had to checkout for a couple of ours nextday to switch to a cleaner and better room on the 2nd floor.

only its location Hotel was old, dirty and noisy. Shower room's screen was broken (staff did not admit), and hot water came out to all the bathroom floor. If it was less than 100 euros, these were acceptable, but it was more than 250 euros for one night.

Outstanding location, excellent breakfast, small but very clean room. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We wanted to see Amsterdam before departing on a cruise. The staff was very helpful in recommending activities and transportation options. Overall excellent experience. Very small room.

the location of this hotel is superb. we booked a twin room and was given a triple bed room.the breakfast was ok and was cleared away dead on time at 10am.some staff were friendly and helpful but not all. was given room 99,which was a nice large 3 bed room apart from one thing it has a stable style door which opens straight out onto the main road outside so at night it is very noisey. the bathroom had 2 extractor fans which didnt work and was like a sauna so we had to turn the radiator off.all the breakfast staff were very unhelpful.the hotel must of changed ownership recently as the layout is different theres no small bar only vending machines. the rooms could do with a mini-bar and tea & coffee facilities as well.

This was our second stay at the Avenue Hotel, we returned due to the hotels' friendly staff, who are more than happy to assist with directions, places to eat or any other information you might need, and knowledge of the good standard of rooms. which are cleaned daily. The location is great too. As for my wife and I there was not anything, we did overhear someone complian that there was no toast at breakfast but with freash bread and rolls, bacon, sausage, eggs, beans and pancacks(all hot) plus a full continental choice as well, we thought this a little harsh. perhaps a kettle in the room for thoughs who like a cuppa although there is facilities in the foyer

Close to Amsterdam Central Station yet relatively quiet (side alleys), but room I had was quite small (room 104). Good breakfast included. Friendly staff and nice surroundings considering good rate Room I had was a bit cramped but it did have a window that opened onto an alley, so fresh air.
