Emilie is a very sweet and kind host, we really enjoyed our stay. The place was very near to the center (Anne Frank House, Hard Rock Cafè and Museum square were at less than half an hour walking) and there was a very unexpensive supermarket just in front of the structure. We loved it!!!
There are a lot of stairs that could be a problem for non young people
Location Proximity to transport Relaxed Good breakfast Not a soulless hotel
No hot water on second morning Woken up in the early hours both nights by son coming back No-one around in the morning or evening
There was a tram station just 3 minutes walking that connected with city center and the Museumplein (Rijksmuseum, Stedelijk Museum and Van Gogh Museum) in 15 minutes. Also a big supermarket 5 minutes walking
The house was a completly mess. Kitchen was full of old staff and unpleasent food... The second day we didn't have the breakfast on the table, had to dig between the mess to find out something to eat. We arrived at 3pm tired and expecting to rest and didn't have our room ready until 6pm.
Pretty place. Wonderful helpful hostess, very friendly and careful about her guests. Rooms are tidy, well-furnished. Location not so far from city-centre. and pretty cat, of course =)
We arrived and found nobody at home. We had to walk with our luggage for some time. The problem was solved out in an hour.
The location and closeness to public transportation was good. The owner was very pleasant and helpful. Breakfasts were fine.
The room was in the basement and smelled damp and had just one very tiny window with no view. The shower and sink was OK, but the toilet was up another floor and access was only by a very steep and a bit dangerous stairway. Very difficult to use during the night. For the price it was not a great deal.
Wifi good. Close to tram stop. Staff friendly. Breakfast good.
Bedroom floor was damp and you had to tread carefully so as not to get feet wet. Separate toilet upstairs with no accompanying hand basin to was hands.
nice host. Eminy gave us some nice suggestion about where to go, and gave us two introduction books about Amsterdam. She also gave us nice breakfast.
The host was really kind and welcoming with a fantastic breakfast every day !!! The neighborhood is safe and quiet with a cab fare of 7euros from the center of the city.
The proprietor made us feel most welcome & was a great host. Good base to explore the city, just outside the hussle and bustle, with excellent public transport links.
There was nothing I did not like.
Landlady is really friendly and funny, and breakfast is good. Love the pretty garden and tidy room!! Though not located in the city center, but the house locates near to the bus and tram station, and it takes only around 10 minutes to get to the museum square. The cat is cute! Her son is pretty handsome!!
The cat does not like me... :(
- Location: 3 minutes walk from tram which takes you anywhere you want - Breakfast: they served a myriad of breads, jams, ham and cheese, coffee/tea, waffles --- very very nice and filled us up well - The cat: friendly animal - Hot water - Wifi stable and strong regardless on where you go in the house - Neat and clean: well kept room, soft bed and down feather comforter which kept us warm even in cold - Host is quite friendly. We really liked their preparation of breakfast Overall, I would recommend. It's clean, comfy and nice. But if you're a light sleeper, stay away!
- Not a lot of noise proofing so while our room is in the basement, you can hear everything that's going on upstairs (e.g., footsteps, kitchen works, etc.). Not for light sleepers - Toilet one floor above and not I. Shower room. Not conducive for evening toilet breaks since you have to go up the stairs - Bed isn't made for duration of stay after first day. Only one towel provided for each (although host kind enough to give us extra towel when we asked) - Keys to room are older style, making them a hassle to lock in evening. My husband is fine with it but I was afraid strangers can barrage our room if we didn't like it - Pillows a bit flat. Only one pillow per person
the garden & cottage homely feel of it. Emilie the host is warm & friendly, very relaxing stay. I'd stay there again.
the room wasn't ready on arrival & my email of arrival time was lost
Room in basement, WC up steep stairs with loose handrail. Difficult with suitcases, stair/ladder very steep. Strong chemical smell in room. Only one small window at ceiling level.
The location was good for transport and getting into the city centre. Our hostess was helpful and its nice to speak to local people.
The sharing of facilities was OK except for the WC being on the floor above. The stairs were steep and also not easy for carrying luggage. Finding the accommodation wasn't too easy as we were working from maps as there were no printed instructions. We are not apps or Sav Nav people.
The location of the B&B Garden House is quite good. It is easily accessible by tram from Central Station, where you can connect any other mode of transportation, anywhere in the city. It is a private house, no crowds to deal with.
The rooms are in the basement, with a tiny window, no view.
staff was lovely it was clean
no lock on toilet or bedroom break ford there was only bread to eat, there was no fruits it was hard to find the b&b, no sign outside or on the door to know it was that places. handrail was broken, it just come off
the owner of B&B Garden House Emily is very kind and hospitable, she will help you with good advice and cook a tasty breakfast for you :)
Super friendly hosts, we felt really welcome. Clean and comfortable room. Location is close enough to the center of Amsterdam, so real value for money.
