Everything. Very pretty at night. Close to trams. Lovely to be on the water. Great breakfast and super Mirjam.
Only had one night
Location wonderful, owner really friendly & helpful. Boat is cosy, well equipped & very conviently located.
Mirijam was a delight and her daily breakfast delivery a real treat too. We found the location easy to walk or take the tram and the bed was very comfy. Loved the coffee maker!
At times, the Standard unit where we stayed could get a little stuffy at night. I recommended to place a fan in the unit to help eliminate this.
Definitely the ducks and swans that were waking up us every morning :P. And, of course the bicycles that were waiting to be ridden every morning :). The place is cosy, very close to the center. Overall, a very pleasant experience of constant cradle swinging on waves :).
It was really small. Really. No air conditioning, much needed in July. And no daily cleaning, unfortunately.
Nice decor and owner friendly.
Bit far out. Very noisy at night and incredibly hot. Also no docking platform on river to sit out on as per photos.
The owner is a fantastic hostess; helpful, prompt and eager to do what she can to make your stay a pleasant one. The Houseboat is actually three separate units in one; the two smaller rooms are fine for a family of four. The small end unit has the best view of the canal. Simply and stylishly furnished in grays, black and white with large windows to take advantage of the expansive water view. Breakfast were fresh and satisfying. Bikes are available on site for rent from the hostess. Little Amstel is conveniently located a few minutes walk to the tram stop and metro station, 20 minutes to the museum square, and within easy reach of restaurants, market, laundromat and ATM.
Two of the 'apartments' are efficiency sized and that includes the bathrooms. Fine for slender folks, potentially problematic for the larger set. Also, there are steep steps involved in getting down to the houseboat from the street level, and then a few to step up into the unit from the floating dock. There can be a little noise from the bridge nearby.
First time we were on a house boat and it was very pleasant
The house boat is right next to a bridge and privacy is not optimal
Great location, clean and comfortable, great breakfast, lovely host. Would definitely stay here again!
Great place great location would stop again.
Nothing to say
Location worked fine for us, as we were looking for something a bit further from all the action, yet close to the tram station. Mirjam was very helpful and sweet. Breakfast delivered each day was a nice treat, and the deluxe room was beautiful. Great to have a washer and dryer, and the seats on the dock were peaceful. Very relaxing.
Being on the canal got a little noisy at times, and then a bit hot when we tried to shut the windows. (Doesn't help we had very warm weather and it was the start of the World Cup!) Missed the fine print that stated we needed to pay in cash for the week when we got there, but it all worked out.
Outside it does not look like anything special, but when you enter the house boat, you see a tasteful decorated room with a new wooden floor, and a small but sweet bathroom. WiFi works quick, the water is hot, and the Amstel rocks you gently into sleep. It is next to a bridge with some noise, but after a while it sounded like waves to me, so I slept like a baby. We had the standard room, which I believe is the smallest room. I would recommend going there only with a person you love, because you constantly come into contact with each other... ;-) Mirjam is really nice. We booked the room on short notice - if you do that, my advice is to phone her directly, so she can tell you how to get the key. We stood half an hour in front of the boat, because she was not aware of our booking. On the last I wanted to run 24k along the Amstel, and Mirjam let us stay (and shower) in the room a bit longer without extra fee, since she didn't have any other guests that day. And btw, there is a Nespresso machine in the room.
That we had to leave. One thing is the high parking fees (4EUR per hour, sundays free) but this is not really a negative point specific for this place.
nice location and cosy boat!
Breakfast delivered every day, great view across the amstel, very compact but very comfortable accommodation, excellent location near the Pijp. Friendly ducks and swans who joined us for breakfast each day!
We liked everything about the experience and would definitely return.
A perfect place to stay when visiting Amsterdam. I will definitely go back to this lovely little house boat.
The cost for nearby parking is 4 EUR/hour
