Great location,Bar open till 5am,clean hotel,loved the musical effects with drums as ceiling lights and guitars on the walls. overal a great quirky hotel in a fantastic location which has easy bus access to airport,

steep stairs but all amsterdam hotels are the same.

The shared shower facility was not working properly. Water was constantly boiling hot and when reported to the staff all I got was a " Yes, yes..WE Know about that"

Very close to the Leidseplein (where it all happens), Rijksmuseum, Paradiso. Music-inspired interior. Very friendly staff, nice atmosphere, small scale.

Very steep stairs (all but unavoidable in old Amsteradm houses, though). Safe in room did not work.

Friendly staff, clean and comfortable room. Only stayed for the 1 night but was very satisfied with the stay.

Only negative i can think of are the stairs, we were on the top floor (4th) and the stairs were very steep and very small.

Excellent location, great welcoming staff and a quality secret gig from the razorlight guy.

Shared bathroom is a slight inconvenience but was still clean and modern nethertheless.

Staff is really friendly! The hotel has a printer that you can use to print your flight check-in, so you don't need to bother to do it in advance.

Nice place, comforatble and really enough for young people or friends. Not far from center, coffee shops, clubs and places of interest. Nice people on the reception. But if u live on the 0 floor you will hear every step over your head.

One shower and 2 toilets on the floor for 4 rooms.

Loved the people working there, they were understanding and really helpful. The location couldn't be better. and the rooms where really nice- great views, great tv for a nice chilling in the end of the day. Defiantly will be back to Amsterdam and the stay is going to be in the Backstage hotel:)

Filthy bathroom, paper thin walls, guests allowed to make as much noise as they like throughout the night with no intervention of hotel staff. There was also construction being done that started at 7.30 in the morning! Don't stay there if you are actually planning on sleeping. More of a hostel than hotel.

you don't have to think about fitness in Amsterdam , the hotel stairs is enough to make you FIT !!

The Hotel style was very unique. I enjoyed the 'rock star' theme very much! Our room had Guitar Hero and and Ipod dock in it which was a nice touch The beds were very comfortable and the linens were very clean. A very fun atmosphere for a quick city trip. The location was just a few minutes from Leidsplain which was absolutely very convenient. Hotel staff was very helpful and friendly.

The bathroom could have used an air freshner.

Special design inspired to rock, kind staff and good location. Our room was at 4th floor and we had a beautiful view on the river!

No place where put our clothes. Uncomfortable stairs and no lift.

Excellent location, especially when you are visiting a concert at the nearby Melkweg stage. Nicely designed with stage equipment cases and drums as lamps, and a 24/7 bar for a last beer after the show. Very friemdly and helpful staff.

Was happily surprised by BackStage Hotel, at first sight I'd had deemed it a hostel among others, but I was wrong! Except for the steep stairs (which might just be a Dutch thing) I really enjoyed our stay here, the rooms where clean and quiet and the breakfast was just everything you could wish for!! Thanks to great welcoming and service by the friendly staff!

Fabulous location, great staff, ace little bar.

It could get a bit noisy - we had a room next to a shower and it was busy!
