The room was very comfortable and clean, with a menu of pillow choice. Breakfast is cooked to order in front of you. During our stay we were surprised to find that the minibar in our room was free. As was the tea and coffee, biscuits and cakes which were always available in the living area.. A bar was available with beer, wine and spirits which too was free of charge, and during the evening this was also accompanied by a cheese and savoury platter.

We loved the central locality to shops, coffee shops, beaut restaurants and the old world feel of it. Breakfast offered was superb and they catered for my glutenfree diet by arranging bread for our 3 days there. We would stay there again without hesitation.

Great place for exploring Amsterdam. All old town attractions are within walking distance. Great local eating and drinking places nearby. The hotel gives you complimentary beers, whisky, gin, vodka (and juices and sodas of course) but with so much to eat and drink nearby we never did help ourselves to the free drinks at the hotel! Breakfast is good and hearty. If you have a car then tough because there is nowhere to park conveniently. Even wi-fi is free. Overall a great place in Amsterdam to stay. Rooms are fairly small and the canal view is a little disappointing. No smoking area inside the hotel.

A wonderful hotel, the "all inclusive" concept was a fantastic gift for our friend who was celebrating a 40th birthday. Staff were all excellent especially the restaurant girls who went out of their way to make our breakfast special. On first consideration thought it was an expensive hotel but wonderful as a treat, need to take advantage of the bar/snack facilities therefore compared to city prices it works out reasonably well. Rooms were very good, a lovely bathroom with the most luxurious and heavenly bed we have ever slept in. ..Fact that we didnt see much of Amsterdam because we didnt want to leave the hotel!!

I liked the fasilities in my room such as free coffee from nespesso machine, free mini bar and free liquers in beatiful crystal carafs. I also liked the free boufet in the living room of the hotel. The beds were very relaxing cause of the very good stroms and pillows. I didn' t like the condition of the hotel in general. Many things as doors, elevator, paintings etc need to be renovated. This is the main reason I find the price suboptimal. Probably, because of the aged materials and equipment the heating supply wasn' t enough and you couldn' t adjust it by yourself.

Staff is really helpful and welcome. Amazing breakfast as well as free drinks and snacks 24/7 :) Be prepared to ajust the temperature of in-room radiators, or it will be quite cold inside. Can't access complimentary WiFi via iPhone, but laptop works fine.

The front desk staff was outstandingly helpful in every way. The hotel itself has a high comfort level - lovely lobby, rooms are decorated in an interesting way - and located in a nice part of the city. The breakfasts (we stayed 6 nights) were terrific. The concept of "all in one price" (drinks, snacks, etc.) in the room' minibar, wi-fi, and a great lobby (fire place and all) stocked with soft and hard drinks, snacks. Couldn't ask for more. We would definitely recommend to others and we ourselves would return. (Just need a little more light in the room)

The concept of a "home from home" - without all the washing up - at the Banks Mansion was fantastic. From the great service from all the staff to the cosy fire in the "living room". The "kitchen" where we had breakfast was of buffet style but the very attentive and caring staff would make you just about anything you wanted for breafast. The bedrooms were very welcoming after a long day walking everywhere - and the bed just enticed you to say "lets just lie in a little while longer". The central location of the Banks Mansion meant that you were never far away from anywhere - but then again - you were made so welcome that there wasn't any great need to go anywhere else in a hurry. Just like home - you could help yourself to a drink or beverage at any time or pop onto the computer to check those e-mails from the kids, or just use it to plan what you might want to do tomorrow - from a busy itinery to printing off airoplane tickets. We were very impressed by the whole package and would certainly recommend the Banks Mansion to anyone who wants to be pamperred but left alone to your own devices also. The Banks Mansion definitely gets the thumbs up from us. The rooms had tv and dvd etc with coffee making facilities - but no tea making facilities. I would like to have had tea making facilities in the room for that early morning get up and go.

The friendly staff, the attention to detail, the concept of helping yourself to drinks (I have never seen anyone abuse it), the breakfasts. Some of the furniture was slightly scuffed and needed French polishing.

Banks is a lovely boutique hotel, perfectly situated within walking distance of city center. Comfortable bed and nice design rooms. The all- inclusive concept is fantastic. I would rather pay a bit more and have free wi-fi, great breakfast included, as well as the private mini-bar and evening drinks. Service is outstanding. It's my second stay and absolutely preferred hotel in ams. Expensive on weekends, but this makes sense and still worth it with all the extras.

The location is excellent. You can go direct from the Amsterdam Central Station by tram. And you can go anywhere in the city by tram or by foot very easily. The hotel locates along the canal. Even it locates in the center of the city, the room was quiet. (our room window faced to the backside) You shall not miss the breakfast which you can enjoy many kinds of foods. I want to have the salmon there again. The cleaness of the room was not so good. The bathtub was not clean and also others are not perfect (if we consider the price of the room rate). One night (we stayed 4 nights) in the midnight our room (only our room) got blackout. We complained to the staff and he prepared us other room in the same floor, this was good, but he could not prepare us some lighter which we could use in the dark room. And in the morning we requested the hotel staff to repair, but they replied that the electricity was already fixed. If so they shall inform us at that time of fixed. If you plan to stay here, I recommend to take the lighter with you.
