Banks Mansion  

I loved everything about it, from the central location to the friendliness do the staff to the complimentary snacks every day.

The individuality of the hotel and the location were both appealing. The decor was interesting, and different from the usual. Breakfast was included which was a bonus, and it was all very friendly and informal.

The lighting in the room was insufficient. Also, I hate hairdyers in bathrooms. Please provide one in the bedroom so that one can sit in comfort to dry one's hair!!! But, these are minor points. Overall, it was a lovely place to stay and I am sure we will return.

We chose Banks Mansions based on doing some research for a great hotel, offering a great location and of course great value for money. This hotel is perfectly placed for Dam Square, Rembrantplein and the Leidseplein.. We loved the living room with it’s comfy chairs and free use of the iPads... of course we loved the bar facilities which meant you could help yourself to the fridges and the “top shelf” for liquors. The cheese boards were wheeled out at 5pm and there were plenty of varieties, gorgeous for cheese fans! our rooms were fantastic and was tempted to stay in bed all day as the pillows were immensely comfy!!! I have no faults with the hotel at all, customer service was great! We will definitely return and recommend to others!

The hotel is located in the city centre and could not be better in that regard. It fronts a canal and for the Amsterdam experience that too is a good reason to go there. The courtesy lobby bar and snack counter plus the free in room mini bar is a welcome extra not available at most other hotels. Breakfast is fine although served in an underground room which is a bit sad on fine days. Selection is average although some hotels of this class do offer more. I have to add that staff did everything they could to meet our needs and were very professional in the process.

We had some problems in that there was a misunderstanding regarding the room bedding offer. Canal view rooms only have queen beds when we requested a king bed. It just isn't available so if that matters it may be a problem. There are twin beds in inward facing rooms which do not have large windows. Some rooms face the street and ours, for one night, was very noisy as every tram and truck at the intersection caused the windows to rattle leading to a restless night.

Great facility located within minutes of center city sights and near the tram. Staff were exceptionally helpful. Minibar with liquor, beer, wine and drinks were included. Breakfast was complete and delicious.

The room was a little small although wonderfully furnished.

Excellent location. Internal Art deco design throughout. Lounge with self service coffee and drinks (both alcoholic and non alcoholic) available at all times of he day. Wine & cheese early evening in lounge. Large rooms with super beds, private bar and carafes of spirirts. Excellent breakfast choice, hot and cold. Friendly, polite and knowledgeable staff to whom nothing is a problem. Excellent restaurants just a few minuts away.

central location and breakfast included. Lovely hotel and the all-inclusive drinks was a major factor in choosing this hotel, however, I am not sure it was value for money as the hotel was significantly more expensive than other 4 star hotels we looked at.
