Bastion Deluxe Hotel Amsterdam / Zaandam-Zuid  

It's a nice hotel with friendly and helpful staff.

Hotel room was comfortable and clean. We liked the fact that there were chairs and a table to relax and good having a kettle and facilities to make tea. Hotel staff friendly. Good regular bus service. We would recommend as a good budget hotel.

The hotel was further away from Amsterdam than we thought and a very long way from Zaandam station, you could not walk with suitcases. There were no bars or restaurants near by, the closest was about a 30 minute walk. We felt the hotel breakfast was very expensive and so did not partake of it, the problem was there was nowhere else to get breakfast nearby. The menu for other food had no prices.

Busstop was near to get to Amsterdam. Tea making supplies.

Expensive for the quality it gives. Cleaning ladies did not care about the do-not-disturb sign and entered the room!!

The hotel was nice and clean. There was a bus just in front of the hotel that went to Amsterdam Central Station. You could buy a ticket for the whole day for 2 persons (14 euro) and you could use almost any bus in the city.

I wouldn't rate it as a 4-stars hotel. For example, there wasn't even a hair dryer in the room. The staff was a little unprofessional. They pre-authorized a charge for 4 rooms, although we only booked 3 rooms. Moreover, the rooms were "cancellation free" for 1 day before arrival and they pre-authorized the whole payment for 4 rooms (not only the cancellation tax) with more that one week before.

The billiard is only for smokers! Staff could be more interested and helpfull.

Lovely holidays with great company, there was nothing wrong with the hotel and its facilities. We didn't take breakfast as we thought it was a bit expensive... there is plenty to eat and drink in Amsterdam and Zandaam :)

staff were a bit tired and annoyed with our questions. Not sure if they know how to smile :D But of course we were relaxed on holidays and they were at work... Dont blame them- people in general don't like tourists anywhere in the world. Luckily, we all become one at some point during the year :) I still would use the hotel in the future.

the unfriendly front counter staff and the location of the hotel is quite far from the city center and far from restaurant. not recommended for travelers without car.

Relaxing for our purpose

Great for people travelling with own car. There is a free car park. Bus stop is 1 min from the hotel, by bus it takes cca 30 min to the Amsterdam Central station (goes every 15-20 min). Clean and comfortable rooms.

Staff was a little bit apathetic :-)

Good food and easy access to road and rail.

Nothing really stands out

We stayed in the hotel only one night before going to Amsterdam. We left the car there and we went to Amsterdam by bus. The bus stop is just 30 meters from the hotel and it takes 30 minutes approx. It is useful for this reason

It is close to a highway and 5 minutes driving from the centre of Zandam; useful only if you have a car...

The manager was very good Tommie was his name and very client friendly It was a reasonable big room

The cleaning of the room was not one time perfect and the door was one time not closed by the houskeeping

Je moet niet reserveren voor het eten, je ziet zelf waar en wanneer je eet.

Jammer dat het ontbijt zo vroeg was je. Het personeel was niet altijd even vriendelijk.

Room is big and clean. Location is acceptable in case you are traveling by car, otherwise it's far from city center. Free parking place in front of the hotel.

Small repair in the rooms and all will be fine!

We stayed on the new year's eve on another bastion hotel. Is a fair group. We loved that we can play free pool.

Internet was not always going on a good condition in the rooms, only outside parking, hotel closed after a certain hour, you have to ring the bell.

Staff in hotel were brilliant - friendly and helpfull at all times - really cannot say enough good about them, we were very impressed. The hotel is much nicer inside than appears outside. Hotel is extremely well run and very clean. The room we were in had a mini bar (so you could keep cold drinks & milk for a cuppa!) - and a kettle - we find this very useful....to be able to make a cup of tea in the morning.

The location, there was no nearby bars/cafes. Bus about 30-35 minutes from Amsterdam (but we knew this before we booked). However bus runs exactly on time, regularly and stop is a minute from hotel.

Ard hatte kein Bild Obwohl bei Buchung vermerkt war bitte ruhiges Zimmer hatten wir ein zimmer direkt an der relativ stark befahrenen Straße.

Hotel sympathique, d'un bon rapport qualité-prix avec du personnel accueillant. Situé à 2km du Centre de Zaandam et de la gare.

La salle de bain pourrait être un peu plus spacieuce et mieux aménagée.

Het ontbijt in de ochtend,iets te compact.kan naar mijn mening iets beter met bij vullen van het etenswaren.
