Hampshire Hotel - Beethoven  

Easy to get to from Amsterdam Zuid station. Great part of town. Hotel was adequate for an overnight stay in Amsterdam. Close to the museums.

Room was tired looking and needed updating.

Hotel is located at a central, quiet and safe region. It takes a 20 minute walk to the city center. There is a tram station 50 m to the hotel and you can use no 5 for the city center or the train station.

Great location near trams and shopping.

Parking can be expensive a difficult to find. Breakfast is expensive

The area around is really nice, I had a calm room even with a terrasse - all was perfect!

Overall good value for money in an area only 10-15 minutesd by tram to the city center.

Breakfast and the breakfast areas was on an average level. Could have been more welcoming and cozy. Also the personal was not well informed and engaged. Recommend to try Starbrucks or Le Pain Quotidien just across the steet from the hotel.

The hotel was very noisy , wether the noise came from next door cafe I dont know but the following day we asked to be moved to another room we were told that this was not possible but there certainly were spare rooms so I didnt beleive that this was not possible

for the price it was very nice and comfortable. tram line right in front but we walked everywhere.

Very easy to find and close to tram stop, nice area of town, quieter than the centre - some local restaurants, bakeries etc, rooms practical but everything you needed, good shower

Very thin walls so can hear other rooms and people talking in corridor!

Very comfortable, excellant value for money and within easy each of local train and tram stations.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was lovely and kept very clean, housekeeping were also very polite and cheerful. Excellent location, the trams are really easy to use and there are stops outside the hotel. Especially close to the van goth and rijks museum.

The Beethoven Hotel is close to city center, quite and clean. Tram's No: 5 and 24 from/to Central Station are passing just in front of it, and you can easy go to everywhere. Receptionists were very nice people and very helpfull. Breakfast is also OK. Thanks.

Great location, tram and bus stop outside hotel. 20 min ride into the centre

The location was wery easy to reach both from city center end airport.

The noice isolation was very weak in the rooms, All the steps of upper room was in our room.

I liked that there was a balcony on the 4th floor that you can smoke on and getting to dam square was easy, as the tram is right outside the door, tram 5 or 24 are the trams to get and cost €2.70 and take 20 minutes

The beds are too soft and need replacing, the net curtains in our room needed a wash badly, other than that everyting was ok, you get what you pay for, a little bit too far out of city centre.

bad sound isolation, thin walls- you hear everyone and everything not close to citi center ( you need to go by tram) old-fashioned, it`s not worth this money

single beds moved when being used as a double.

Location was excellent with regards to proximity to city landmarks, access to tramways/metro/airport connection, and safety of the neighborhood. Our regular double room on the second floor was very simple but adequate, clean, and quiet. Our 3 children shared a deluxe room with an extra bed on the third floor. That room was brighter and overall more pleasant.

Our regular room was a bit dark. One bedside light did not work on the first night, but that was promptly taken care of the next day after we reported the problem. One of the latex mattresses had been mistakenly put upside down, making for a not very comfortable first night. Once the problem was corrected, the mattress felt adequate though some people might prefer a firmer bed. Our shower stall was very tight. The breakfast buffet was not a particularly good value and croissants were industrial quality rather than bakery quality.
