What I liked about the sleephouse is that the location was great in the center of the city, can't get any better then that.

Excellent location with easy access to central Amsterdam and trams. Kitchen facilities shared with other rooms, but each room has its own en suite bathroom. Staff (Veronica) welcoming and helpful. Room noisy in the mornings but this is to be expected given the location in and around restaurants. Noisy in the mornings and no air conditioning so window had to be left open for ventilation.

The location is close to the city center and tram station. The main entrance is through a narrow street which is always dirty and smells like urine. Unfortunately the smell goes a little into the building too, but not upstairs in the rooms. There is no free WiFi. No reception desk or somebody in case you need anything. You have to call a number - probably of somebody working at the other location. Also no space for clothes storage, only some hangers ...

Outside the alley feels and looks bad but inside the premise is just cosy and fine. However, despite the dirty alley, the location in terms of city centre is perfect. The owner is really nice and flexible.

The Sleephouse was perfect for what we wanted - it was just off the flower market and so in an excellent location - just off the flower market which is easy to find if you have a map (we got a free one in the train station) and is very close to most of the main attractions. Our room was large and comfortable and beautifully decorated - it has been kept very well with a lovely modern ensuite bathroom and shared kitchen in the next room. The lady that owned the apartment was very friendly and accommodating. We found some of the other reviews were misleading - we weren't disturbed by noise at all and the location was good (if not a little hard to find). This would be the perfect place to stay for a short time or a couple of weeks - we didn't want to leave! There are a few things people ought to know which aren't advertised well - the lady that owns the apartment is not there all the time so you have to ring her to ask her to let you in (she got there in five minutes so this wasn't a problem!). Also, the alley the apartment is in is just off the flower market - near the 'magic mushroom gallery' (a shop) and a cheese shop and although there is a number 5 on the door, it doesn't have a sign saying ' The Sleephouse'. Other than these couple of points everything else was brilliant.

Perfect location - close to the center and just few steps to the flower market. The next street is full of bars and clubs which is good for young travellers. Nice accomodation, reasonable price, frindly staff. Came to closed door of the apartment, as the Eva - the hostess said they wrote me e-mail that we have to pick-up the key in another place, but it was not in advance and I didnt read it. Though if comming not too late (we came at 23.00) probably there wont be such problem. We lived in the 2nd floor just next door to the shared kitchen, someties loud if other people come to the kitchen late at night or early in the morning. Loud at the weekend because of the bars and clubs. View of the window on the opposite building.

Aardige ontvangst, nette kamer.

The beds are comfy. It's clean. They have a washing machine and dryer. It's hard to find. The front door is in an alleyway. The girls running the place are young and were not on time for my arrival. They claim there is an airport shuttle, there is not. It is extremely loud with restaurants and bars below the rooms. Wifi they claim to have is because they steal it from a neighboring restaurant.

Nice facilities in the kitchen, comfortable bed, laundry machine, and some board games and magazines on the table in kitchen. Nice location, Albert Heijn within walking distance, and restaurants, bars around the Sleep House. Good except the appearance from the outside. I booked for a room for the apartment with kitchen, but it turned out to be a 2 room apartment sharing the kitchen with other travelers. It was like living in the same apartment, the other room was just about 2-3 meters in front of us. I don't complain about them because they were a quiet, nice family, but I complain about The Sleephouse cuz they must have mention it ahead. The price was so high for one night, and I was not expecting that kind of sharing kitchen for that price. Furthermore, I was waiting for the personnel for 1h30mins, which I was told that she will be in 30 mins. If she had told us that it will take 1h30mins, we could do some other things waiting for her, but as she told us she will take only 30 mins, we couldn't do anything waiting for her.

Even though the place is near the city centre, not all the locals have heard of the alley (except maybe the people working closely). Even though it is close by flower market, if you arrive for the first time in the city, and you are late, using flower market as a guide is pretty much hopeless as the market would have closed by then. Before typing this review, I actually checked for other people's reviews of the Sleephouse. During the entire stay at the Sleephouse, it had been utter nightmare. 1. We were first told to collect key from another hotel as we would be checking in late, only to be told that the key was not with the person in the hotel. This was after we spent time asking around for the homeland walking aimlessly in the darkening sky of amsterdam. Finding the Sleephouse was an utter nightmare because the door to the Sleephouse was at the side of an alley (it was not even a street). We spent two hours trying to locate the Sleephouse. A kind local tried to call Eva but she as unreachable the whole night. 2. It was noisy throughout the night, and on the second night we were there, we were awakened to the sound of 'someone' pressing the doorbell. It was a scary experience, and it didn't help that the noisy crowd outside the area where we lived did not leave the area until 5 in the morning. 3. There is no proper arrangement as to how we could pay the accommodation fees. We were running out of euro and not only is the owner's assistant unhelpful, she had the audacity of asking us to go out and withdraw from the ATM machine outside the area which we are not familiar to. Don't be surprised if they insisted on payment by cash (and not credit card), I will definitely not return to this place. There were moments of utter horror for instance, standing in the middle of nowhere alone (while the clock tower chimed 11 pm),not knowing if you would ever get to that place and the house owner was unreachable; and shuddering when the door bell was pressed for a good many times, in the midst of a noisy rowdy crowd.
