Amstel BotelNDSM-Pier 3, Amsterdam-Noord, 1033 RG Amsterdam (Show map) Review score 6.9 Score from 446 reviews“We liked the botel as its a short free ferry ride to central station, which comes every 15-30 mins, runs to gone midnight then a shuttle bus can pick you up for free. The staff are friendly and will help out! The breakfast was lovely. The rooms are comfortable with a basic shower and toilet. And the boat very very slightly rocks so a nice sleep!”

St Leonards On Sea

Very unusual, being on a boat as a hotel. Breakfast very good, staff very friendly, room kept very clean. Lovely views over water. Good fun going to Amsterdam Central via the ferry and it only took 10 minutes and was free! Only criticism is there are no coffee/tea making facilities in the room.

Free ferry back forth to city centre Last ferry was at 00:45, which for a young 20 year old is too early.

The Amstel Botel is an ok place if you can book it at a very, very steep discount from other locations. The rooms have no ventilation at all. This meant that our room became exceptionally moist during our stay (it rained every day) and we were unable to dry out any of our clothing. In addition, the condensation from the window made the carpet below it a wet, moldy mess. Also please note that the wifi is not free and the staff are overworked and far from happy.

Its located quite a bit away from the centre od amsterdam but there is a free ferry that takes 10 mins from the botel to central station so its perfect. The rooms are basic but clean and sheets towels changed everyday. The staff are friendly and thers a pool table and things, its basic but if u are after a place to rest yr head and keep yr stuff whilst u enjoy amsterdam at value 4 money look no further. Compared to some off the hotels in amsterdam this place is the ritz lol.

There was a lot of humidity in the rooms. There was a lot of noise and the information provided from the service was not full and not very true, most of the times.

New Year's celebrations in the city were worth the ferry and bus journeys back and forth. Botel was in the middle of nowhere, and the hotel bus that brought us to the ferry station was infrequent and unreliable. It was new years weekend, but it was very inconvenient. Also we were given a twin room, and the hotel made no serious attempt to change it to a double room.

Great breakfast, comfortable bed, free boat from central station at regular intervals. Because it is a boat it rocks a little when another boat goes past.

The hotel is actually a boat permanently moored at a pier across the water from Amsterdam City centre. About 200m from the hotel entrance is the ferry across to the city, which run quite frequently and are well- used. Although the hotel has no evening restaurant, there is a large well stocked restaurant at the landward end of the pier less than 150m from the hotel entrance. The rooms themselves are very much like those on a boat sailing across to teh continent form teh UK, except the bed was a double bed instead of a bunk. The en-suite bathroom is however just like those on a boat - rather small and cramped. Nevertheless, it is well situated to visit teh city centre and has all of the amenities needed for a relatively inexpensive break in an otherwise quite expensive area.

The bar staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good. The female asian receptionist looks always reluctant to talk to me and it wasn't nice feeling. It's not big deal but it has certainly provided some uncomfortableness to me.

Fortunately the boot didn't sink while we were sleeping! Die Lage ist echt scheisse!! Man muss sich immer nach den Fähren richten, um in die Innenstadt zu kommen und das ist extremst nervig!!

Close to ferry to city center and train station. Breakfast adequate for the price of the room. Room was small and basic. Shower good, lots of hot water. Staff was friendly, helpful. Night clerk forgot our wake up call, at 4:00 AM so we could catch a taxi to the airport. When we got down to the desk, he had TV on so loud I could not talk to him. He was helpful and courteous.

Friendly staff - a special atmosphere being a boat ! Breakfast was a pain sometimes - the drinks area clogged up the buffet system and should be a way from this to enable friendlier approach to getting the food.

- Old wall-to-wall carpet, really dusty, bad and unhealty to sleep in such air. 4 days sleeping like that, gave me headache - Breakfast was limited, always rushing for the best parts, often not enough place and food for all customers. When asking for more, impolite and rude answer of waitress - towels are old and very harsh -better to bring your own
