“We liked the botel as its a short free ferry ride to central station, which comes every 15-30 mins, runs to gone midnight then a shuttle bus can pick you up for free. The staff are friendly and will help out! The breakfast was lovely. The rooms are comfortable with a basic shower and toilet. And the boat very very slightly rocks so a nice sleep!”

Very unusual, being on a boat as a hotel. Breakfast very good, staff very friendly, room kept very clean. Lovely views over water. Good fun going to Amsterdam Central via the ferry and it only took 10 minutes and was free! Only criticism is there are no coffee/tea making facilities in the room.

North side of the river, but only 10 minutes away from city centre by ferry (ferry is for free). Breakfast include in the price and free parking (if you're driving) free Wi-Fi. Everything you can expect from a boat hotel, small but functional toilets. Tv free Dutch, German, British, Spanish and adult channels. Vending machine at 3rd floor wasn't working.

We would stay here again! Great Location next to the FREE ferry that takes you downtown Amsterdam. Great Price, breakfast included (croissants are yummy), small room but you don't need much space when you just want to see the city. Friendly staff gave us an extra pillow and blanket each and were there to help all day long. Good storage under the bed and the tv even had a couple channels in English! Easy bike rental right outside the front door and the small shop next to the ferry station makes a very good Doner Kebab for a great price.

Breakfast was great both english and conti on offer. Location near the central station is good once you have worked out the schedule. Its a no frills hotel but clean and got everything you need from your accommo. There wasn't much I disliked about the hotel, the boat does sway a little so if you have a problem with that then you may need to consider other accommo but it is a boat after all! It was a bit over my budget so would have liked it if it was a little cheaper.

The last time I stayed at the Botel it was moored in the old location which I found ideal. The new one is to far from the center and in scruffy area.

Very clean and good value for money. An unusual place to stay. 1.Location was a little far from the main city - in poor weather we found the ferry ride inconvenient. 2.En- suite shower room was cramped and shower very basic. 3.Breakfast facilities were very overcrowded and tables too close together making it difficult to get to the food counter. Food and drink not logically arranged e.g.tea bags were placed on the opposite side to the hot water, toast machine was next to hot drinks so area very congested..

The Botel was certainly different. The rooms are basic and compact but clean and make good use of space. Great breakfast and generally good value for money but do not expect luxury! We enjoyed our short stay but would not have wanted to be there much longer. Certainly an experience! The Botal does sway about a bit so don't go here if you suffer from seasickness or similar! Would have been nice to have hairdryer and tea/coffee facilities in room. Location a bit out of the city so you need to take a ferry everywhere.

I booked the Amstel Botel on the recommendation of a friend. First let me give you directions for getting to the Botel, From the Central Station exit opposite the city side toward the big canal, cross the street to walk along the canal and go to the furthest left water taxi (free). It is marked ndsm and runs frequently. It will drop you off within a 5 minute walk (botel is visible from the dock). My room was spacious and features a canal view. Included are free wifi, Full Breakfast, and bicycle rentals. Perfect for any travelers who do not want the noise of the city and enjoy staying on a boat. If there is a drawback, missing the water taxi can result in a wait of 25 minutes (15 during peak times). Late night returns must take a different water taxi, but the botel offers a free shuttle for late night visitors.

Loved it being a boat, the very gentle movements was very soothing. The room size was good the shower was refreshing even if rather small. The breakfast was plentiful and varied. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly. Liked everything.

Free breakfast, free parking, free ferry to downtown, free wifi. Rooms were small. Bathrooms/showers were very small. Although clean and neat, the place has been well worn out and could use some updating and a nice, sparkly renovation.

A view - water is everywhere around. And a submarine nearby. Location is actually good - you can get from Central Station fast by ferry or by the hotel shuttle. But choose a proper ferry - there are three of them! I couldn't use the room phone because there was no hint about numbers and extensions. Even reception number was missing.

They were very thorough when cleaning the rooms. Advertising a free ferry to Station Centraal that leaves every 15 minutes is misleading, it leaves every 15 minutes from alternating locations, so if you miss your ferry, it's 40 minutes until you reach the city.

loved the location, the easy access to the free ferry boat service, the all night shuttle service which picks you up from late night ferry service. the view from room was fantastic. feeling the occassional movement of the botel added to the experience. room was very clean. breakfast was plentyful and enjoyed the cooked breakfast. would be good to have a hair dryer in the room. coffee making facilities in room would be good. we did miss not being able to have a cup of tea or coffee late at night in our room or first thing in morning. if not possible to have in room, then perhaps a coffee machine at reception area? breakfast serving area was rather chaotic, layout could be better as most people were bumping into each other and becoming annoyed at the confussion.
