Hampshire City Hotel - Hengelo  

My advice would be to ask for a 'quiet' room. There was a group staying on my floor.....

I always choose the Hampshire City Hotel when I come to Hengelo, mainly because it is situated within easy walking distance of the mainline railway station, and that makes my journey from Schiphol Airport less demanding - I don't have to bother about finding a taxi to take me to my hotel. At the reception desk, the staff are not only efficient in their work, they are also friendly and welcoming - always greatly appreciated by the travel-weary guest! The same could be said at mealtimes in the dining-room or when enjoying a drink at the bar - the hotel's personnel are attentive and courteous. And at the end of a busy day, nothing could be better than to relax in a lovely comfortable bed in a spacious and clean room. All provided by the Hampshire City Hotel in Hengelo.

Just a suggestion really, not a dislike. At breakfast, would it be possible to put hot plates near the hot food and cold plates near the cold food?

The room was beautifully designed, well cleaned, modern and very spacious. Coffee and tea making facilities present.

The room was overheated. We were forced to sleep with the window open, but happened to be bothered by loud talking in the middle of the night. As the hotel is very centrally located in Hengelo, obviously this can be expected on a Saturday night. However, it would have been better if it would not have been so warm in the room so we would have been able to close the window.

Good comfortable hotel with godd bar and adequate breakfast

I chose the hotel for it's proximity to Twente Enschede's football stadium. The hotel was excellent on many counts - the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. I would return without hesitation,

Location was excellent! A five minute walk from the train station and just a stones throw away from center of Hengelo. This hotel also had large rooms which was a nice break from the smaller cramped rooms in other parts of the Netherlands. Good value for the money!

no hotel parking ,there is pay carpark opposite hotel which can be expensive if your on budget .

Hotel staff is very friendly and kindness. Hotel room is very clean. Comfortable hotel.

In this stay, my room does not have a bathtub. Only shower room.

Excellent alternative if Enschede hotels are not available

Restaurant does not have confortable chairs for eating, these are chairs for the lounge

The fact that we were led to believe that it was in Enschede, where there was a town party in the main square scheduled for the evening of our visit and as it turns out we weren't in that town! Hengelo was like a ghost town.
